(The store sells dry ice, too, and we need to buy that to keep our harvested pheasants frozen.) Hi-Vee Deli food prices are low and the place has a friendly vibe. As usual, it was fun to browse the adjacent produce section of the supermarket, which always has some produce varieties or novelties that we don't see back home. This time it was an Osage orange display that caught my eye. These knobby green "hedge apples" aren't edible, and they can irritate your skin if you handle them, but they make interesting fall decorations.”
