Great little airport with some great amenities -- art from local artists, rocking chairs with a huge window, quick TSA service, comfortable gate chairs that include charging ports, and several options for getting food. I spent 3 hours here during a layover and was very comfortable.

Nice airport. Clean, relaxing, and comfortable. Getting through TSA was quicker than expected given there are just a few stations. Several places to eat as well as a few Hudson Marketplaces for snacks, drinks, books, or other items.Renting a vehicle was easy and quicker than expected. For the size and scope of the airport, it is quite good for what it is. Security is a breeze and the staff is all very helpful. Pretty clean and orderly terminal with an adequate selection for dining. No good shopping though.
McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) is located just 12 miles south of downtown Knoxville and is the premier air facility in East Tennessee. Each day, the airport handles commercial airline service, air cargo operations, military and general aviation. The airport is home to one fixed base operator (FBO), Signature Flight Support. In addition to providing fuel and services to commercial carriers, the FBO also accommodates the general aviation industry which includes corporate aviation, charter flights, flight schools and people who fly as a hobby.
