Made an appointment for my miniature schnauzer for 3 pm on line. The online stated they had 6 appointments available. Got a text message confirming 3 pm. Then got a text message saying it was rescheduled for 2:30. We called to see if we could bring earlier. The girl my husband spoke with acted like she didn’t want us to bring him at all! She kept saying it would take to 3 to 4 hours. Then asked if he has been groomed before (he has twice!) At the end of call I just cancelled the appointment. I didn’t feel confident that they would give him the best.

Don't even bother placing a curbside order. I went to the store yesterday, parked and clicked the "I'm here" button in the Petco app. 20 minutes later, no one had brought my order out so I called the store to let them know I'm outside waiting. The lady that picked up said they "aren't doing curbside today" because there is no staffer available to bring me my order, and said my only choice is to come inside. When I came in, there were 11 other people in line ahead of me, and only one person working the cash registers. No express line for people picking up orders, even though they do have a register that has a sign for express pickup. When the line had moved halfway and there were still 5 people in front of me, another cashier came up to help, and the initial cashier left as soon as that new cashier arrived, instead of sticking around to help the line move more quickly. The quality of service this store provides is a joke and they definitely had at least four staffers in the store, so it's not a lot to ask that one of them take two minutes to bring out a curbside order. Will not make the mistake of shopping here again.

Don't book a big dog for grooming because they don't want to be bothered and will send you away and tell you to reschedule.

I’ve been going to this Petco since I moved to Chattanooga in 2023. Unfortunately this most recent encounter was just insane to me. My golden retriever previously got groomed back in July of last year and there was nothing mentioned to me regarding him being nervous during the service, in fact it was all positive comments about how well trained he was and how calm he was. Today I had an appointment to groom my dog, and not even 15 minutes after I dropped him off the Petco calls me saying that I have to pick him back up because he’s too nervous and isn’t letting the groomer do his job. Is it just me, or as a groomer don’t you have to know how to handle dogs and calm them down? Makes me think they just didn’t want to work or deal with my dog. I asked nicely if I can bring him back tomorrow since I have a trip to go too next week and they tell me no. I even try to go onto the portal to book another appointment and now I don’t even have access to do that due to my dogs “sensitivities”. I personally find this very unprofessional and therefore won’t be shopping nor taking my dog to get groomed at Petco ever again.

I take my little Aceyman here & I have never been disappointed he always look & smell so good. I have had the same groomer since he was 10 wks Jenna C she is awesome if you looking for a great groomer.

They really need more employees-the wait here is almost unlimited! Average an hour wait to catch one fish even when nobody else is waiting. Plus prices are higher than PetSmart.

I went into Petco the other day for some cat food. Mind you, I have been in there multiple times over the passed view weeks for different things.
I purchased 12 individual cans of cat food. I get to the register and pay. The cashier asked if I wanted my receipt. I said "yes please and a bag". She hands me my receipt and says "Have a good day". I asked again if I could have a bag. She proceedes to tell me that their bags cost 10 cents. I informed her that I had been in there multiple times and no one has ever charged me for a bag. She says "They are not supposed to do that. So I gave her the 10 cents. She says "It's 11 cents with tax". SMH
For one, why when I purchased 12 individual cans of cat food, would you not offer me a bag to begin with regardless of if it cost anything? Secondly, why was I ignored the first time I asked for a bag and had to ask again? Thirdly, is Petco that desperate to charge their customers, regardless of the amount, for a plastic bag? The same kind of bag that no other store around town charges you for.
Basically that visit gave a bad vibe. Petco is already a little pricey compared to other pet stores much less to charge me for a plastic bag to carry my items out in. Just sad.

Sadly, I will not be taking my dogs to Petco Gunbarrel for grooming anymore. They refused to cut my poodle, despite having seen him for months, because he was 1 month overdue (because his normal stylist was sick the previous appointment and I had to wait). Drove 45 minutes to the appointment. There are absolutely no serious mats, as I take great care of my poodles. The woman who greeted me was incredibly cold, rude, and degrading. It was clear she did not want the work. Her attitude and bedside manner needs to be addressed for the sake of her and that business!

The experience I had to day was the absolute worst.. I will never shop at this location again The wait time to get help is horrible, when you go find someone to ask for help they seemed annoyed like they just can’t be bothered ..The lady that works in the fish dept is so rude and has a disgusting attitude not helpful at all she needs to work in a dept that has as few interactions with customers as possible..

I will never go back. I am a regular customer here, today I had an appointment. I was 10 minutes late because of the heavy traffic and the rainy day, and the grooming employee did not want to see my dog. They have kept me waiting many times, which is why they never received any complaints. I do not recommend this place. I will definitely not go back and I will let my friends and family know.
