This review is for the Speed Engineering and Dyno in Decateur, Tennessee. The owner is Jeff Nance. Since purchasing and installing a Chevrolet crate motor five years ago, I always wanted to get the full potential out of this engine. Jeff Nance at speed engineering did just that. He is a man of details, and I like that, since he noticed a badly loosened alternator, which is something I overlooked.
Through timing, carb tuning, and other work, Jeff “found” twenty seven pound feet of torque and thirty horsepower. That’s power you can definitely feel in the seat while driving. Is it a cheap process, no it isn’t, but it saves you money by NOT buying parts you really don’t need in the first place. And, the drivability of the car is fantastic now, with all that found torque. He’s also a one man band, which means you don’t have to second guess an employees work, and hope that it’s done right. He’s also a racer, which assures me that he is interested in performance and reliability. I’ll be back with another car in the future.

I have known of this shop for a long time and have had work done on four cars over those years. I will travel from states away to have work done there and have never been disappointed. I appreciate the fact that he doesn't do a job unless it's done right, and I accept that there may be some unknown underlying issues that he discovers during his work. If he says it needs to be done then it needs to be done. It's part of the process and well worth it for the excellent end results.

I bought this B4C Camaro 1LE already built but it never felt strong and when I took it to the dragstrip it ran slower than stock ones. I brought it to Jeff and he immediately found all the issues and resolved them quickly and efficiently. The car gained big power on the dyno and ran over a full second quicker at the track. The price was more than fair and Jeff gave me a lot of good support at the track afterwards.
Highly recommend! Best LS guy around too!

Tried contacting this shop about doing some work on my car and they didn't give me the time or day to explain they just told me they wouldnt work on my car, I have a full stage 2 tuned boosted grand Prix gt. Need my trans rebuilt and they wouldn't even try to point me in the right direction. They treated me like a nobody if I'm being honest. They'll play around with little four bangers all day or other sports cars but seems like they have problems working on actual builds that people take pride in

Jeff has worked on several of my Hondas throughout the years. He is always straight to the point on how to get the highest HP gain per dollar. It may not be the route I originally planned for, but the results spoke for themselves. I am looking to purchase a used Acura RDX that has a turbocharged K series engine. He will definitely be helping me get greater numbers on that vehicle.

Jeff did a phenomenal job on tuning my P.I.T.A Corvette in just a couple short days. The car went from barely drivable to reliable; he went above and beyond on keeping me up-to-date, will definitely be a return customer!

Jeff Nance with Speed Engineering and Dyno worked on my truck last year and I have nothing but praise for his work. I have had ZERO issues with my truck upon return and have absolutely loved it even more than before. I told Jeff what I wanted and he delivered. To get my truck the way I wanted required Jeff to overcome some unexpected obstacles but he solved them one by one. He was very honest and forthright in all his dealings with me and I will return to Speed Engineering and Dyno for any further work I want done on my performance vehicles.

I worked with Jeff on a couple of different projects and I learned a lot while working with him on my vehicles. He was always honest and did an amazing job with everything that I ever asked him to do. I had my 2005 and 2007 Titan in there many times for research and development of products. Being able to read the air/fuel ratios was a huge help in knowing what truly worked and what didn't.

I have been going to Speed Engineering for years and have never had anything but the highest level of service. I have taken multiple vehicles there with excellent work performed every time. I have also ordered parts (out of state) and used a credit card each time. Jeff is the ONLY person I trust with my go fast toys. I have always had excellent communication from Jeff, regardless of what is being done to my vehicles. Jeff always gives me clear facts and straightforward details without trying to sway my decision or opinion one way or the other. I am and shall remain a happy and fully satisfied customer.

The worst automotive service experience I have ever had. The shop only takes cash. This is likely due to probable credit card disputes. Poor communication. The owner of the shop could not provide a invoice for his work and basically held my truck hostage for astronomical charges. The shop Facebook no longer lists customer reviews. Stay far away!

BUYER BEWARE. Feel free to contact me for more information. No one should have the experience I had. Jeff Nance has extremely poor communication and does not stand behind his work. An experience that has me reconsidering my hobby. Just horrible all around. Steer clear.
