The staff here are extremely nice. On Sunday they checked my child's car damaged due to inclement weather for free and made recommendations. They allowed us to park it in their parking lot until it is towed in two days. I am really thankful for their kind help.

Justin and Travis were great. Very helpful, reasonable prices, acceptable wait during the day for the service. Can’t thank the Pep Boys crew at Knoxville Kingston Pike enough. Even during the Thanksgiving holiday crush

Travis and the shop did an excellent job. This was my 1st time at Pep Boys and you have gained a new customer as long as other locations have managers and technicians like Travis. ?1600 brake job was done at a Honda dealership before my long trip. Travis thoroughly did the inspection on my Honda Odyssey brake caliper screws which came off on the high way.Anyhow, Thank you, Pep Boys and Travis at Knoxville, TN 37934.Great job! ?

Went in this location with a simple oil leak for 200, they kept the car a month and bill ended up 2300 and I still have an oil leak and check engine light that pops about 10 codes now. What a nightmare. They agreed also in writing to let me rent a car for one of the weeks and to just give them the receipt for reimbursement and to just send the email of the enterprise receipt. During this time they get a new manager Justin. He says oh well not giving you anything and the Dm Todd carpenter refuses to even talk to customers and had an employee tell me to call customer service knowing I have it in writing to do this from a pep boys gm. Beware of this place it’s worse than you could imagine. Ask around town I wish I would have beforehand.

I cannot recommend this place. I was made to wait for three hours just for a basic oil change and vehicle inspection (and I was early). Moreover, they misplaced the wheel cover from one of my tires. Later, they tried to claim it was already missing when I arrived. On my third visit later in the evening, the person in charge told me they reviewed their video footage and confirmed they had attached the wheel cover before I left — yet it mysteriously disappeared during a short, smooth 10-minute drive to my home.Services: Brakes

My Infiniti Qx60 had a problem with electricity generation in January. Believing that Pep Boys is nationally recognized as a reliable and good service, I brough my car to this Knoxville shop in January, expecting an alternator replacement. The alternator replacement is not an easy task on this car, requiring the displacement of multiple parts, including an A/C unit, and the labor estimation was more than 5 hours work. They installed the refurbished alternator, selling an overpriced one on the way ($600 versus ~$350 at regular part store), and charging with extended warranty ($100+). According to the final invoice, the electrical connector was broken during the alternator replacement. This should not happen, and it was fixed at my expense. With a total charge that is more than $1600, I was expecting a car that was fixed. One month later, in February, the A/C stopped working on this car. I brought the car to the closest repair shop and the technician found that electrical connections were extremely loose on the AC compressor. This was very likely due to poor service on a recent alternator replacement (an A/C compressor is on the way to remove alternator). This was a relatively inexpensive fix, but still ~$200.In April the car had an issue with electricity generation while we were driving from Boston to Tennessee on our way back from college for the summer. Upon arriving at the local repair shop and a brief inspection of the car, their owner and the mechanics asked us about the car's history, giving us the impression that the problem was likely not an easy one to fix. The next day, they were able to clearly identify the problem - due to a poor alternator installation, the engine mounting place was cracked, and the alternator could not be properly positioned with one bolt. We decided to leave Boston while the repair was being done. The repair took two days. Their solution was quite creative, involving welding a part of the engine to restore the alternator's proper seating. Surprisingly, their invoice was lower, compared with Knoxville, despite extensive labor! After returning to Boston to retrieve the car and driving back to Knoxville, I went to the Pep Boys shop and showed them all the invoices about what happened to the car (I already complained in February about A/C without success – manager laughed at me: “They charged you $200 for plugging a connector”). They told me that they will send all documentation to the upper office. I also contacted Pep Boys Customer Service and they opened a case for me. A couple of weeks later I got a call from Nashville office, where a local “director” with a bullish attitude claimed that the alternator problem would appear immediately implying that it was not their fault, though still not admitting this directly (By the way, if a problem should show up immediately, why do I need to buy 12 months of useless insurance?) The “director” did not receive the documentation I provided to the Knoxville shop. After this unpleasant conversation, I submitted documents though the Pep Boys Customer Relations e-mail, warning them (through call) that the local (Nashville) office does not want to resolve the issue. They replied that they “have included your comments in your case for review and have requested that field leadership team reach out to you to address the issue.” After waiting three months I inquired as to what is going on, receiving a response that my case was reviewed and closed the day I sent documents with an “apology and explanation about the issue”, which I still have not received in the written form. Apparently, my case was not elevated to the upper team, contrary to promise, and was terminated at a Nashville verbal response. The bottom line, even though local management and labor have changed since January (I was told in May that the people that handled my car do not work anymore here), Pep Boys has no desire to review their faults, not mentioning their unacceptable way to talk to customers.Service: Electrical repair

This facility is amazing! The manager is is so kind and helpful, he was able to answer all of my questions and show me my next steps. They have fair prices, I don't feel as though they are trying to charge you past the industry standard, they seem to be a little lower and better on pricing. As a female that has been ripped off I feel confident saying that this will not happen here. In regards to their work, you really couldn’t ask for better quality mechanics doing a superb job making your vehicle safe. I would recommend this shop to anyone!!

We came in due to our windshield wipers randomly stopping mid-drive. After taking the keys, the staff didn’t say a single word to us for two hours. The first red flag was the mechanic taking the car for a drive down the road… simply turning it on would show that the wipers weren’t working. Driving it was absolutely unnecessary. They never even approached us to explain what exactly the problem was. My sister and I realized that the mechanic who ultimately fixed the car was not even in the shop for the majority of those two hours. The repair itself ended up taking 10 minutes. We were then handed a $300+ bill. At no point during the two hours of waiting were we notified of what the problem actually was, nor did we sign any consent forms to go ahead with the work. We were waiting by the shop the entire time. Someone absolutely could have notified us. The mechanic made an offhanded comment that we were “lucky he didn’t have to take the car apart more” because then the cost could double. Again, we never gave consent for the work.We are from out of town and had an hour & a half drive back home through the rain. My sister was frustrated but footed the bill and left. This was made even worse by the older male mechanic’s uncomfortable comments about “her body and shape.”This shop clearly needs to improve their communications and efficiency.

The team at this location was an amazing help to me. They worked diligently in offering a complimentary inspection on a used vehicle I was looking to purchase. They saved me a headache and over $8k in repairs. I want to personally shout out Travis and Mike, especially for all their genuine care, follow-up, and great customer service. I would make the hour plus drive just to have work done at your shop in the future. TY, TY, thank you!!!!!

I normally do not do reviews, but this place is worth reviewing. I went there with a really strange issue out of my car and the guy there is absolutely fantastic! He wasn’t trying to over charge me or charge me for things that I didn’t need, he was genuinely trying to find the root cause to my problem. I’ve been to many different shops before that just simply didn’t care, didn’t know anything, were rude, etc but this was different. He was extremely knowledgeable, honest, kind, and just a great guy to talk to along with all of the other employees there. I highly recommend anyone needing help to go see Mike Ellis at the Farragut location!Services: Auto engine diagnostic

UPDATEI visited this location again based on my positive previous experience and was even more impressed by the customer service demonstrated by everyone in the establishment.Travis and Will took care of my needs with the utmost care and concern. I will definitely be spreading the word about the service at the Farragut Pep Boys! If I could give 6 stars I would!Jacob and Will were amazing. I had recently purchased a new set of wheels and tires and needed them fitted to my car. They accommodated me on short notice on a Sunday and did an excellent job making sure the new wheels fit safely and properly before processing.I highly recommend going here for all of your tire needs.

I traded cars this week and the dealer changed the oil before I picked it up. I noticed after I got it home it was dripping oil on my driveway. I assumed it was a drain plug issue. Rather than wait on the dealer I decided to contact Pep Boys on a Sunday to get it fixed. I took it to them this morning and picked it up before four. Problem solved. Travis was knowledgeable, helpful and knows what he is doing. He explained what caused the problem and resolved the problem. Also the charge was very reasonable. I will definitely come back.
