I would love to give a 5 star rating but this time buying from Carmax was kind of a pain. First off they have a 2 car test driving policy which to me is insane when you are really trying to find a Used Car that you like or love. I drove really far to test drive the cars I saved online. I was so excited, and I really was looking for the car that was right for me. I've never had much experience with cars, so I didn't know until I try them, if i even like them. The 2 cars I test drove had weird issues and ticking in the engine and so I decided to keep looking. I was so upset when they denied me the opportunity to test drive more. How am I suppose to find a vehicle if I can't test drive, and I took time off work to spend the day finding the perfect vehicle. When I was leaving upset another associate stopped me and asked what was wrong. I explained my issue and that I really need to try these vehicles to see what I even like. It's a lot of money to throw down for 20 minute test drive. He allowed me to test out two more cars, and I did find one that I loved! Today was full up a lot of ups and downs. I'm hoping the vehicle I went with will be good. I put a lot of faith in a 20 minute drive. I just didn't like their 2 car test drive policy rule that is the dumbest policy I've ever heard! Do you want to sell vehicles or not? You have to let people drive them !! I get it is a lot of work, but that is suppose to be your job. That is the first time I've ever been hit with that policy and I've bought 2 cars from the before! Weird. The second associate was great. He was nice and kind and wasn't pushy. I still wish I could have tried a few more, but everything happens for a reason. Do better carmax!

They let me go through the whole process just to tell me at the end they couldn’t help me because of my job. I told them about my job the very first time I went in there. I had much better service at Toyota of cool springs.

I purchased a 2021 Ram from this location and haven’t had a great experience. I’ve found multiple issues that should’ve been addressed when they took the car in. The latest issue is the heated steering wheel and seats don’t function. The service department refuses to fix them because I’m a couple weeks out of the warranty period. I obviously didn’t check that functionality when it was 85 degrees when I purchased the car but now that it’s cold and I tried to use it and realized they don’t work. I wouldn’t recommend this location or buying a car from them. Carmax raves about the detailed inspection process they have, clearly was missed with this one.

This is a complicated review to write, but I believe, needs to be said..
CarMax and the salesman I go to have always been great to me and easy to work with. There was even a time when I needed a car very bad, and only CarMax would write the loan… this is a good company, which makes this other part very difficult to say:
I will only state facts, absolutely no opinions:
1) Found a great deal on a car
2) Called about the car and read the provided CarFax
3) Paid the transfer fee
4) I decided to check the VIN
5) Found several complaints from the previous driver that the vehicle had a major electrical issue and hasn’t been replicated by the dealership
6) This vehicle may still have exact same issue, so I requested a refund of my transfer fee, as this is a big risk
7) CarMax refunded my transfer fee
8) Car is back available for sale
Make of it what you wish, as there is absolutely no proof of the issue, other than 3 reports from the previous owner.

Had a truck shipped from Minnesota for $449. We got financing through our bank and had the check in hand driving to the dealership to purchase the vehicle only to receive a call from Kareem, our salesman, that they sold the truck to someone else. What a disappointing, awful experience.

It's Carmax. People are friendly, and business is business. Always clean inside.

Bryan Franklin beware of this salesman. He added another year of payments to my loan. I agreed to 4 years. Didn't double check my paperwork. He got me for 5. To top this off , I had to get another car to replace the first one I bought from these people due to it being totalled. This was and is a nightmare. This dealership is fraudulent.

Read for hidden fees! They make it very easy for you to find a car that is right for you with a great selection at fair prices. Only complaints are the unpleasantly scented cleaner they use; wish all the cars smells more fresh. I was told when we walked in the “no haggle” price you see, plus tax and optional maxcare are the only extra costs. They tack on a $600 fee to every sale, outside of the “no haggle” pricing in addition to a $88 “business license tax” fee, which bugged me. Overall a solid place to shop for a car, but be prepared for $800 on top of the price and tax.

I went here with my wife because she wanted a new truck to haul her kayak with the pedals and the black gentleman got a powerful attitude and got loud! Told him. Told him payment was to much truth be told he wanted to up sell my wife and got loud and rude when I told her we didn't want extended warranty. You get none of my money ever agian . You know nothing about selling nothing you leech of a salesman.

I had FIVE THINGS break, malfunction, or wear out on a car I bought here in less than 2 years. I bought a 2019 Mazda CX5 in June 2022 that only had 29k miles, so a relatively newer car. In the first week I owned this car the car battery gave out, I was shocked. Carmax did do right by reimbursing me for the battery, but it was a huge pain getting my car towed and checked, then going back to Carmax to show my receipt to get reimbursed. Not something you expect in the first week of buying a car.
Then within the first year the brake light and tire pressure light stayed permanently on, and I had an error for a Smart Brake System Malfunction. This eventually turned out to be the brake pads needing to be replaced. So Carmax sold me a car with brake pads on their last leg, and when they eventually replaced the brake pads one of the lug nuts on the wheel was already melted and stripped from normal wear and tear, so to even replace the brake pads they had to break that off/replace the lug nut and I had to pay for that. This cost me over $900 out of pocket.
Then on top of all of this, last month a gasket randomly broke and started leaking coolant everywhere. My engine started overheating and the car was un drivable. So I had to get my car towed to a repair shop. Thankfully I had purchased Max Care and they covered the repair. The repair would have cost $4,500 but I still had to pay a $200 deductible. But they also discovered during this repair that the spark plugs were almost entirely burnt out and those had to be replaced and be paid for out of pocket by me. But even with the gasket repair covered, Max Care is a huge pain to deal with. It took 9 DAYS for Car Max to approve the repair. My car literally sat still at the mechanic shop for a cumulative 9 DAYS just waiting for Car Max officials to approve of the repair before they could continue working on it. Also worth noting the $40 a day rental car Max Care reimbursement will not fully cover a car rental. I rented the cheapest Sudan option they offered and was still paying $20 out of pocket every day. The whole repair took over 3 weeks, thanks to the 9 days of Carmax approval waiting where my car sat there doing nothing, so the rental covered less than half the time of my repair even with Carmax adding a couple extra days because of how long they made me wait. I had to blow a lot of money on Ubers getting to work and social activities during that time.
All of these issues happened between 29k and 49k mileage. I have never had a car with this many issues before, especially at this low mileage. Carmax either did not thoroughly check this car or they did and were still willing to just sell it to get if off their hands. I had a car battery literally several days away from breaking when I took it off their lot, brake pads well past half used, and Lug Nuts/Spark Plugs/Gaskets that would give out or break in 1-2 years. All of this under 50k mileage.
I’m beyond disappointed by this experience. I was extremely stressed by this whole experience. Between the countless hours on the phone with Carmax, the endless Ubers I had to buy, getting my car towed multiple times, the $1200+ I spent repairing/replacing things even with Max Care coverage, this has been the worst car I’ve ever owned, and ironically it’s also the newest and lowest mileage car I’ve ever purchased on top of that.
