I recently needed some Doc Martens for an event and went to Journeys because they have the best selection of in-stock Docs around. I wasn't quite sure what style to get but the sales person, Kirby, took the time to hear me describe what I was looking for. She then suggested several styles and showed me what was available both in-stock and to order. I ended up ordering a style that works great. The shoes came exactly when she said they would and everything was smooth and pleasant. They have wonderfully patient and helpful sales staff, and Kirby did an especially good job of making it a great experience.

* A MUST READ * Journeys has always been a place I associated with a laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, and good music. Oh how that statement has been skewed as of the past few months. *See if you've had a similar experience: Before you even come close to entering the store, you are borderline harassed by a few poor employees and the MANAGER yelling overly enthusiastic greetings as an attempt to draw you into the store. If this doesn't turn you off right away and you actually enter the store, you are swarmed with more forced generic greetings from every single employee, no matter how far away they actually are from you. Not to mention that I have single handedly seen the current manager pull a few employees aside and ridicule them for "not greeting customers with enough energy" while STILL BEING ON THE SALES FLOOR? This shows the lack of respect that the employees are shown. I doubt the manager is too much older than most of the employees there, which has obviously created a egotistical power play dynamic. I assume the obnoxious sales pitches are being enforced by the manager as well as the 3 extra pairs of shoes these kids struggle to balance as they try to navigate the store to help their customer, not to mention the sorry attempts to try and sell socks when it's 90-something degrees outside. "Building the sale" only works when it happens organically and gradually, or else any interest you have gained in a sale will quickly decrease. In conclusion, the immature behaviors that myself and others have seen from this current manager include belittling employees, obnoxious verbal behavior, pushy selling tactics, and creating an overall uncomfortable experience for everyone involved. If you happen to shop at this location, PLEASE do your part as a customer and CALL OUT any of this behavior when you see it. The current manager is in obvious need of a wake up call that he has yet to receive.

We did some shopping over the tax free weekend. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their inventory. Great customer service.

I will never in my life spend money at this place. JOSH was so unprofessional. I am upset that me buying shoes at this particular Journeys added on to his paycheck and if I was not pressed for time I would have went to a different store. I tried on a shoe that was my size and it fit perfect but the laces were dirty. I kindly asked for the same shoe and size but one that was not dirty. JOSH said to me " They are going to get dirty anyway". That is terrible customer service and I STILL can not believe he said this to me. He brought the new shoe out that had clean laces and slammed it on the desk in front of me. He rung up the shoes that I purchased and told me my total without even asking me for my email address. Yes, that is a big deal to me. I have worked in customer service for several years so I know how it can be, I just do not understand why me asking for a shoe with clean laces resulted in me getting terrible service. I wish JOSH the best in the professional world but I hope that he knows having a bad attitude will not get him very far in the customer service field getting paid commission. - Sincerely a paying customer who meant no harm to anyone but received TERRIBLE service
