This evening my 13 year old daughter and I took the Women’s History Tour at the amazing Lotz House. I’ve been on Kelly’s day time tour of the home before, so I knew it would be great, but I was absolutely blown away by the evening tour! She is incredibly knowledgeable and easily brought to life some incredible women of Franklin, as well as a few others who weren’t from the area, but have had a great impact on our country. I really appreciated how she talked about the seemingly mundane aspects of life that relate to all of us today, to sharing some of the fantastic stories that were these women’s’ lives and experiences! On the way home, my daughter couldn’t stop talking about what she learned and how much she enjoyed the tour-and coming from a teenager, I think that alone speaks volumes! I grew up in Franklin and tonight Kelly gave me a new appreciation and love for my hometown. So thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us this evening, Kelly, and I sure hope this tour is an opportunity that more people will take advantage of, whether they live in the area or are visiting!

You can't spend a more enjoyable nor informative 90 minutes in than at the Lotz house. Nor will you get more bang for your buck, literally and figuratively. The mood is ultra laid back, and all the guides are great. If you happen to draw Chuck, consider it your lucky day; no matter where you're from, he'll know something about it and will engage you in a funny and friendly way.Bring tip money, because by the time this unsung tour is over, you'll feel bad if you don't take care of your guide: It's that good and that unique.Yes!

Truly awesome tour! I've taken both the Ghost Tour and the regular day time tour. The Ghost Tour is on Saturday nights after normal hours. For this you need to get your tickets in advance but it is worth it! Our guide Kelly was very knowledgeable about the Ghost that occupy the home. She shared stories, photos, video and recording of paranormal events. A couple of weeks later I went back for the history tour which is during the day. Our guide Chuck was so good and had so much knowledge and history to share. I learned so much about the Lotz family from the tour,if you're in the Franklin/Nashville area you should try to take the time for the tour you will be grateful you did

This house has so much history! The Lotz family had an amazing story. Our tour guide, Chuck, is extremely knowledgeable , a good sense of humor, and really brings the story of the house, it's inhabitants, and the soldiers who fought and died here to life! Some of the small personal details he shared about the soldiers, and the Lotz family, really add to the feeling of being immersed in the time period. I only wish we would have had time to shop in the museum store afterward!! Fascinating story here, and Chuck tells it as if he was really there!Highly recommend this!!

On Saturday night's The Lotz House does a Ghost tour. This is separate from the daytime history tour. The guide for the group Kelly was great! She had pictures and video from different investigations plus EVP audio! I had such a great time a couple of weeks later I went back for the regular history tour and it was a excellent time. The guide Chuck for the group knew so much about the Lotz family the home and the battle that occurred there. The guides really have a passion about the home and the Lotz family.

Lotz House was our first stop in Franklin, which we chose to visit as a part of our mother-and-son TN discovery trip. We were greeted by Mr Thomas Y. Cartwright, a noted historian of American Civil War, who welcomed us with an open heart, told us a little about the house, and passed it over to Kristen, our guide, who did an incredible job giving us the details of the Battle of Franklin and of the Lotz family who lived though its horrors. What a story! If you ever visit Franklin, this is a must see! Across the street is the Carter House - another must see, and some distance away is Carnton. If you plan on visiting all three (I'm glad we did!), I suggest this order: Lotz, Carter, Carnton. Thank you, Lotz House staff!

This is the most underrated civil war tour around. Got a two for one on Groupon. Had gone to The Hermitage and Lotz tour that day. By far Lotz was in every way better. Better value. Really experienced tour guide, Chuck( hey Chuck...... it's CA. I will bring my husband in near future!"). Chuck brought the tour to life like you were actually there! Tons of interesting information. This tour allowed you to get close to all the artifacts. If you are coming to Tennessee go see this tour w Chuck!!! Bring the whole group! I can't emphasize enough that Chuck made the tour better than anyone could. You can get still see the blood stained hardwood floors and the fine China the Lotz Family are off of.

This house, built by a German woodworker was nearly destroyed in the Battle of Franklin. The tour is short and homey and worth the price of admission! Knowledgeable and friendly guides.

Enjoyed the Tour, Seth shared the facts of the Civil War and tried to joke and make us laugh. He was knowledgeable and enjoyable. The Home was well taken care of and hearing the stories of Mr Lotz and Matilda was terrific. I love hearing stories of the people family!! We worth it
