We’ve been on the hunt for a way to get custom color limewash paint, specifically using Romabio. We had a particular shade picked out from a company in Germany—it was the only one we could find that provided samples. At that point, we had every intention of ordering through that online company.

Then yesterday, my wife called a local place and told me she spoke with a guy named Spence who said he could match limewash paint. I said, “Yeah right,” because we’d already hit so many dead ends trying to find someone who could do this.

So today, I called Spence myself. He explained that he has a product called Romabio and a formula that he uses that keeps things consistent across different volumes. He sounded very knowledgeable and confident, and honestly, he convinced me to make the hour and twenty minute drive.

When I arrived, I brought the paint sample from the German company with me. Spence spent around 45 minutes carefully matching the color using Romabio as the base—he noted exactly how much of each tint or drop he added with every adjustment. Between tweaks, he’d test it directly on the sample I provided for comparison. After about seven or so adjustments, he nailed it. The match was so precise I had to circle it with a pen just to find it on the original sample.

Throughout the process, I probably asked him about 45 questions, and he answered every single one thoroughly. He even recommended some additional Romabio-compatible products that would pair well with what I was using.

This was by far the most positive experience I’ve had with any company in a long time. Spence was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and detail-oriented. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks again!”
