“This is what all Dollar General stores should be like. The store is spacious and clean and the store staff is friendly and helpful. Because it is a larger store it has a wider variety of merchandise in greater quantity on the shelves than most other Dollar General stores. Most Dollar General Stores appear to be working on stocking the shelves will customers are shopping. Though I understand and appreciate the business model of a "working store" while customers shop, at this location, although they do work the shelves while assisting customers, the process doesn't take up half the store with carts with product on the aisles. Although the store is a bit out of the way, it has proven to be worthwhile to make the trip for the great customer service and the fact that they have product on the shelves. One important thing to note is that this particular store doesn't have beer, but that is the only that that is missing compared to other Dollar General stores.”

“Brand spanking new store open for about a week and a half. Great folks and great selection of merchandise. Hours are 8am-10pm. It took 7 years for this area to market sweet tea and Patti's pies. Now there's finally a DGS here. What's next a Waffle House? Lol”

“While visiting friends in Portland, TN, I found out via Google that the Dollar General on Main St in Goodletsville had 11 bags of All Peach Jolly Ranchers. Went to candy aisle, no jolly Ranchers. thank Jesus for the nice, Black lady working there (Sunday, Nov 26th around 11:00am). She made it her business to help me find them, and did! “First time at this dollar store was looking for some wireless earbuds.I asked the lady she helped me no problem, then my check out was half cash half card she then told me it was only her second day. But I would have never known she handled it like a pro she was amazing, she didn't use it only being her 2nd day as an excuse. “Nice, new store. No self checkout; hard to believe they don’t have more than one person working who is expected to stock shelves while also checking everyone out, with no bell or way to know if anyone is waiting to be checked out if he would have been stocking shelves. And this is on a busy Saturday! Dollar General makes $$, so they can afford to have more than one or two people working at a time. This guy was on top of it tho, very nice and very proficient. ????????”

The atmosphere is pleasant as there is music playing The manager Mr. Herb Pernell, is always friendly and extremely helpful if there is something I can't find.On several occasions, he has personally escorted me to locate an item and happily retrieved it from the shelf for me. He knows his store very well and takes pride in maintaining a high standard. In addition , all of the employees are likewise pleasant, helpful, and patient. Whenever I have a question or concern about the price of an item, they take time to resolve it and never rush customers away. I really enjoy going there often because I know that it will be a good shopping experience in many ways!Employees like Mr. Herb should be recognized monetarily for his dedication to the company and his management expertise!”
