“I usually buy all my home improvement project supplies at 'Homie Depot' or Lowe's. Of course, I never miss the garden section since I am such a lover of flowers and plants. We recently moved, and I converted the front hall closet into a pantry since the kitchen didn't have one. The room I converted was attached to the kitchen, so it made more sense to be a pantry instead of a coat closet. I'm not sure why the complex didn't just convert it themselves. They tend not to want to spend any money on upgrades, but I did ask. The room sizes in apartments here in Tennessee are smaller than what I am accustomed to, so utilizing every inch of space in an efficient way is essential. I wanted to accomplish making an efficient space with shelves, hooks, and bins, and doing it by making the conversion temporary. I did not want to have to 'put it back' so to speak when I moved out. Mission accomplished. So I chose several of these cool black wire 3-shelf goodies which came in a box that was VERY lightweight to carry. I'm not very handy when it comes to assembling anything [especially IKEA furniture lol], but these shelving units were a cinch. There were even YouTube videos showing the complete assembly done by several YouTubers. There are many more larger sizes to choose from, but this one worked so well, and was manageable for me. I bought one more to use against the end of the kitchen cabinets and it looks very modern. I use this one to house decorative kitchen pieces and frequently-used items. With the already-existing shelf in the closet, these worked out perfectly for what I needed to store, as well as it freeing up space in the limited amount of cabinets in the kitchen. Actually, I got quite good at assembling these. So good that I ended up buying several more of these units for my huuuuuugeeeeee walk-in closet!”

“It has been great overall. Only complaint is that we never had a working light bulb in the unit. We thought that the bulb was burnt out so we changed it ourselves, but that did not fix it. We let management know, but nothing ever changed. We just used headlamps or the head lights of our car if we needed to be in the unit after dark.”

“We were travelling from Canada on our way to Fort Lauderdale when our truck broke down in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We had a trailer & our two dogs with us, one very elderly. We found out that our truck needed a part that hasn't been available for months in all of North America! We called late in the day on a Friday, my husband spoke to Louis, he said there was a work truck, and could we get there by 5pm. Well, we hit traffic, under stress, couldn't find it, I called and Louis and he said don't worry I will wait for you. We got to have our wonderful vacation because of Louis, words cannot describe how grateful we are to him. We had to keep the truck and drive it back to Michigan. “I’ve been with this location through 3 ownership changes. I really liked the original owner but have to say that under the name FreeUp Storage they are working hard to make this place even better. Much better security, better spot identifying marks, slowly improving the drainage and surfaces. I recently needed to rent a second spot and Carrie was fabulous at getting it done quickly and easily. She is careful to make sure things are done right while being very friendly and professional. She brings confidence to me with the new management. Highly recommend if you need storage in Hixson to check them out. Prices are very reasonable too!”
