“Very friendly and professional and….EXPENSIVE. We had an emergency and needed an X-ray. We were there for 30 minutes and the bill was $465. This was almost twice as expensive as our regular vet. But, we needed immediate care for our little poodle and if surgery required they were less expensive than some of the other vet hospitals. I’m glad we have them on the mountain.”

“They are simply the best!
I brought my 2-year-old Manx, Yena, in for her spay, and while they were in there, the vet found something no one else had caught. She'd been having bladder issues, and at first everyone thought it might be Manx syndrome. Turns out it was these little fetal membranes — things that are supposed to dissolve after birth but never did in her case — and they were pulling on her bladder and causing all her problems.
They took care of it right then and there during the spay. Didn't charge me extra. Didn't make a big deal out of it. Just fixed it because that's what was best for her.
That's how you know a vet actually cares about animals, not just the bill. They could have easily tacked on a separate charge for what they found, but they didn't. They just did the right thing.
This is also why spays are so, so important — if I hadn't brought her in for it, we never would have found what was really wrong with her.
I now drive two and a half hours each way for her vet visits, and honestly that's just fine with me. As long as she can keep going to Shallowford, I'll make the drive. You don't find vets like this every day.
I can't recommend them enough. They treat your pets like their own.”

“I am so thankful to have found a trusted veterinarian here in Chattanooga! I bring my dog and cats here.
While they do seem a bit pricey, I know my animals are safe and well taken care of here. The staff and doctors aren’t afraid to get in there and look at every inch of your animals. I have a German shepherd, so I can always appreciate when people aren’t afraid of them!
They also offer boarding here for relatively cheap, so that’s a plus. I was able to board my dog for a week while we went on vacation, and I felt good knowing I could trust them. They even called to ask about giving her some anxiety meds since she struggles with that, so that was nice too.”

“Dr Ralston was very kind in caring for my Precious. Precious was choking and turned out she had a long blade of grass in her nostril. She is doing great now.. We had to make a return visit with our Great Dane Fancy Monday Sept 21 2026..ALL staff was so caring for Fancy. I feel she was given the best care possible. The Dr was remarkably gentle and very knowledgeable of Fancys needs.. Even towards me the staff showed care cause I was crying in fear for the worst. Ty hiway 58 for taking care of my baby. “Last Wednesday I ran into this er with my puppy and was met with some of the kindest people. The vet tech that worked on my Kirby was the kindest woman. We sadly were unable to save our puppy but the vet tech cried with me and showed the most kindness to me while I said goodbye to my puppy. I hate that I didn’t get her name but she was so sweet and even helped me take him to the car so I could bring him home and lay him to rest. “I can't believe I didn't know about this fantastic vet clinic until recently. My former pets always went to the (more corporate owned) big groups in town, and I always felt rushed and like my pets were not important to them. That is not true for this small, family-owned clinic. They practice western and integrated medicine, so if you prefer a more holistic approach, they've got your back! If you prefer traditional medicine, they do that as well! Plus, they are so much more affordable than what I was paying before. Not to mention, they are a fear-free certified practice.”
