By far the worst experience I have ever had dealing with customer service and complying with AVIS policy regarding Active Duty Military. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. There is a very nice and customer friendly enterprise down the street I recommend them. The associate working at 0800 15MAR24 at the Jackson TN AVIS location is a sad representation of quality that your business is using to represent you. I do not know her name because she refused to give it to me, she was unfriendly, lazy, unempathetic to the customers needs, and simply unpleasant as a person. She is the opposite of what I would hope the standards set by AVIS when welcoming their guest and what seems to be by many of the comments here a consistent pattern for her. I believe it is time management intervenes and makes some corrective actions because AVIS reputation is seriously being soiled by this individual and branch in Jackson TN. Second they refuse to honor the AVIS policy for United States Service members who have proper documentation and orders to re t a vehicle with an expired license. It is sad that I can serve my country but not have people follow their own policy and recieve a rental from AVIS who says they support the the Troops. AVIS, action needs to be made!!

Just left the place. The lady at the desk was very stand offish. Her attitude was unreasonable. Asked about if the middle Car was available and it was a swift no. Then asked about the rav4 in the second picture since that was is what was selected online. And response was first it’s a RAV4 or something similar. I said it’s a rav4 right there. And then she said it not ours. Then said the white Nissan is the only thing available. The problem is not that we got a different vehicle. It’s the attitude she showed in answering simple questions. She definitely does not need to be fired but properly trained in being hospitable. It gets two stars because of the car still being a nice vehicle. It lost three stars on the attitude the rep had.

0 out of 5, confimred if they accept debit cards they told yes, but upon arrival they changed their mind and there is nobody to answer to customer's calls. DO NOT RECOMMEND

We were in and out in no time, just returning a vehicle. The true test will come in several weeks when we need to tent a car...one way.

Staff over the phone- I think the lady’s name I spoke to was Bethany ( not completely sure) was very attentive to my needs over the phone when I was in need of a rental same day to travel one way across several states. Avis was the only local car rental company that allowed me a one way rental due to a family emergency in Texas. 5+ stars for her customer service skills.Physical store- needs improvements. Avis- you might want to check on the store with staff smoking in the building. Local staff are smoking in this store. I did enter the premises at 12:30 pm and no one was in the building. I could have wondered in and out of offices, but I didn’t. I hollered for someone, but no one was there. I called the local number and it rang and rang. Someone did come in the front door of the business after I called twice. Now- the staff member apologized for the wait and he might be the one person working. He was very polite and got me on my way quickly. 2 Stars for the facilities. 4 stars for the local staff member.The rental car- it was clean, newer model, no smoke smell, and got me where I needed to go. 5 stars for the car.

I took 2 stars away due to the customer service I receive from the young lady there. She was nonchalant and didn't explain all the details of my rental agreement. The additional charges was not on my contract. I figure that out later on. Just wish I was informed of them. They need someone there that can assist you with the car if needed. But the enormous smell from the incense or whatever it was a BIT TOO MUCH! Too overwhelming my goodness ?? Thanks to Stan he went out his way to take care of me due to the smell.

The cars I recieved were not clean ( I had to exchange one car due to issues that should have been inspected beforehand for a another one that was just as horribly maintained) , the original one they gave me had multiple issues and the staff does not seem to care about client safety or customer service at all. I am not saying you need to go above and beyond but it didn't seem like anyone was even trying to do the bare minimum. I would give zero stars if I could. The low rating is not just for show. I encourage everyone to go elsewhere for your rental needs.

Very Disappointed in this Avis Car Rental in Jackson Tn. I booked a car a month ahead of time & they called me the day that i was supposed to pick the car up to tell me that they did not have any cars! And gave me the customer service number so that i can call and spend my time trying to get my refund. Bad business all the way around! If you are a car rental place, you should never run out of cars and you should automatically do the refund for the customer that you called the day of the pickup! Not give them customer services number and let them spend their time to go thru the hassle of getting their refund. Pitiful! They didn't even offer anything for not having any cars! Like O WELL.

This place needs to be shut down. Horrible customer service the lady upfront is extremely rude, the place itself looks run down over grown weeds coming out of the parking lot, it looks like an abandoned car lot. The vehicles are older models. Go to a place that wants your business.

My car was dirty when I went to pick up. There was only one car available.I tried to get an upgrade paying more, but even so, there were no cars available.I have been driving a Kia Soul for more than a month just because they don't have a car in the upper level available.I'll need a car for more than 90 days, but I'll change the company.Go to Enterprise if you are in Jackson.Leave Avis alone.

Had trouble getting to a person. When we arrived at the lot there was a sign on the door. Had to wait for about 20 minutes for someone to show up.

Just an outright bad experience. This is the only alternative to enterprise Rent-A-Car who sucks equally maybe worse. This place is worse than enterprise. There was a woman there, and she had the worst personality and Customer Service skills. She did not greet anyone , and she did not attempt to explain anything. her attitude, which is very, very bad. What was the scribe on the Avis website is different when you go in person. Actually local friends of the rental car employees get the better perks. And the hook ups. But overall bad customer service skills. Bad attitude skills. For individuals who only are trying to pay their bills and not focus or even caring about the company and retaining customers Avis needs to not hire these types of people. If I did not have to go to these people, I really would not. Very disappointing. Extremely frustrated with Avis in Jackson Tennessee which is the sign of the times.

I do not feel she was able to do her job properly. But she was the only worker there so I can not fault her. She had several of us at one time. So she did drive the car to a parking space there was no walk around inspection nor did she even look at damage report from the Arkansas location where I picked the vehicle up.

I reserved a vehicle on their website. There was no problem with the website taking my debit card as payment. I get to the facility to get my rental, and I am denied because I don't have a major credit card and my credit isn't good enough. I not only wasted my time going there, I have to wait 3 to 15 business days to get my money back.

They closed 15mins before their closing time and I couldn’t return my car on the day I was supposed to. Avis charged me for an extra day because of this. The staff members at this location are also very rude and disrespectful.
