“What a diamond in the rough! Internet sales, of books especially, has wrecked many stores. This one just doesn't have the ability to close. It's gorgeous with a huge selection of products to choose from. It is unique in its story, its kind crew, wonderful atmosphere of peace and love and huge size. Great place!”
“I haven't been into a Barnes & Noble in years, but I received a gift card for Christmas, so I went to pick out a few books.
I was honestly shocked by the prices. Most books were around $20 (even short paperback books). I was really excited about seeing their Freida McFadden collection, but it wasn't even in the right section. When I did find them, they were on a random table with about 6 copies.
Additionally, I found sections that were dead ends rather than aisles that allow you to wander freely.
I found some cute vision boards in the area between the sets of doors, but the descriptions were very vague, so I didn't want to make the purchase.
Staff was pretty much nonexistent. We saw one employee at a desk in the middle of the store, and the rest were at the cash registers. That was disappointing, as I recently read an online review of the amazing customer service that B&N offers. I was hoping to have some employees to ask questions of.
I walked out empty-handed and will have to go back to spend the gift card since the website requires $50 spent to get free shipping. Freida McFadden has a new release in 2 days, so hopefully, they will have a large number of those in stock then, in paperback!”
“My husband, toddler and myself stopped in this afternoon and I can’t say enough wonderful things. The two staff members behind the desk both greeted us and smiled, but didn’t overwhelm as we bagel to browse. It is so nice to be able to enjoy yourself and not feel unwelcome with a rowdy, curious toddler. Their selection is quite impressive for how small the store itself is and I found myself struggling to pick. The children’s section is also quite large and unlike most stores, YA gets their own space, too. The quirky, bookish or other themed merchandise they have throughout was the cherry on top. If you’re browsing for a gift for someone, or even if you just want to peek around for yourself, I truly think this store has something for everyone. The historic building it’s in is beautiful and the overall cozy, welcoming feeling they have is what will definitely keep us coming back. I am normally one to shop at the big chain bookstore in west Knoxville just out of convenience of having my share of wide array of selection, but this store had more than enough to satisfy (and I read quite a bit).To top it off, knowing that you’re shopping small and local makes it even better. Knoxville needs more places like this, and the ones we have need all the support we can give! Thank you, Union Ave. Books! ”
“Very cool shop with so many ecclectic mid century items. The prices are high, but if you can afford it, you're gonna get a great quality item. Definitely a fun place to peruse!”
“Amanda is the best!! Always happy to see her working. She always brings a smile to my face, no matter what kind of day I'm having. The store is great as well, never a creepy vibe as with some stores I've been to.Highly recommend”

“Graduated from Pellisippi State a few years ago. Is a wonderful place to go to college. They do everything they can to help you help yourself to succeed. Nice campus. Great teachers. Caring staff.”
“Took the wife here after chemo took her hair. Very helpful, patient, kind and friendly lady took excellent care of the wife and helped her find the right wig for her.”
“Wonderful church, wonderful pastor, and a wonderful congregation of people. A great cultural mix of every race, age, and ethnic background you can imagine. A great Sunday School program for both adults and children. Robust bus ministry throughout the entire city (and that includes the inner city)! The church is involved in various initiatives to reach the unsaved and the poor of this city. If you are looking for a church that teaches the fundamental principles of the bible and people who try to live by those principles, this would be a great place for you to worship. They have been a great support base and an overall huge blessing to my family and I--they would like nothing more than to do the same for you. Most importantly, if you do not know the Lord as your Savior, simply call someone at the church or come visit and it would be a tremendous honor to take the Bible and show you how you can have a home in Heaven!”
“Best bookstore in Knoxville. Just walking in the front door and being hit with the aroma of a proper bookstore makes it all worth it.All items affordably priced and one can walk out with arms full of good literature for $20.They sell used books as they are meant to be and have an eclectic inventory. The owner is always helpful as well!I cannot recommend going here enough. No other bookstore in Knoxville belongs in the same tier as Book Eddy”
“Selection seemed fairly decent, the prices were higher than I’d like but it’s hard to find anything at lower prices nowadays. It was pretty busy when I was there, but both of the staff (a woman and a man) handled it all well. They were also kind to me and helpful. No creepy experiences from the clerks or from the other customers. I can’t speak to the arcade because I never went in there… the incense and smoking supplies were priced right and had a great ones to choose from.”
“This is such a cute, themed bookstore. There are places to work, places to meet, great book options (especially in the fantasy/science fiction realm, although there are other genres, as well), and specialty coffee and tea drinks, too.”
