“Like most stores they sell donated items and clothing. They’re short staffed at the cashier station but the one cashier is quick and has a good attitude.

I enjoyed shopping around. I didn’t find anything on this trip but lots of people sure did!

Enjoy the scavenger hunt!”

“What a gem! Came here for Honky Tonk Tuesday (was recommended by a few locals). Good vibes and good people. It's like walking into a time capsule of yesteryear. A lot dress up in hat/boots but it seemed like everyone's cool if you just come as you are. And the Cowpokes are absolutely amazing! Two-steppin to great music for a great cause. What more could you ask for?”

“Went to donate blood today and the staff was amazing. Katherine explained things very well and kept a close eye on me. I am prone to fainting with needles and did in fact pass out. They woke me up and kept an eye on me for almost 40 minutes until I was okay.”

“Love this place. I found this spot about two years ago, just interested in meditation. I was new to Nashville, and the community is amazing and I found friends, as well as some really helpful meditation skills. The teachers are awesome and super legit.”

“My kids like it, wish the park was a little bigger. We like the community center, it's full of activities and toys for the kids for all ages. Their favorite area is the splash pad during summer time. They just built a very big pavillion next to splash pad.”

“My favorite place to have go for all Dance classes. Many teachers rent this space to give their Dance classes. At Casa Azafrán they have a great practice Room with a mirror across one wall and a ballet bar across the other. The practice room and restrooms are always clean, plus there’s a water fountain in the hallway and there’s plenty of parking.”

“What an amazing foundation with a mission to support families during their most difficult moments. I am grateful for receiving delicious and nutritious meals during my cancer treatment. It was a source of comfort and hope when I could barely cook for myself and my family. Thank you for all you do.”

“My friends and I are currently visiting Nashville. One of our group had quite a fall off of a rented scooter and was injured. If the care from Gilda’s Club for those fighting cancer is anything like the concern and care they showed for our friend, anyone in that situation should reach out to them for support! They offered first aid supplies, their (I believe her name is Trish, but not confident since we were in the midst of everything when she introduced herself) personal phone number in case we needed anything else during our visit, and info on nearby injury center. One person even offered an extra pair of their own shoes since our friend ruined hers in the fall! Everyone was so incredibly kind! What a testament to the services they provide! Thank you again for your help!!”

“When I was younger this place provided childcare for my mother. It shaped me so much. When I was older and going through hard times St Luke's came through for me once again.”

“My daughter and her husband stayed there after their baby had to be in the hospital for 7 weeks after he was born. There's play areas for the kids and it's very clean. They have volunteers that bring in food or you can cook your own food. It was a huge help for them not to have to worry about paying a huge hotel bill and all that.”

“If you are new to the area and looking for a lodge, there are several beautiful lodges with incredible men and Masons… my experience at this lodge for meetings, education, dinners and events public and private, for me, has been unexplainably different than other lodges… it’s hard to not feel welcome, it’s hard not to stumble over some new (or ancient) truth, it’s impossible not to see the brotherhood and feel that this group truly wants to help each other and the community grow.”

“I love everything about it; the message, the people, the environment, the programs, the social media, etc. I listen to the sermons and the podcasts while working and I have found them more useful more than any radio or podcast platform.

I recommend everyone visiting the place if you can.”

“I began volunteering to be a guest reader several years ago with Book'em during Read Me Day. As I learned more about Book'em I wanted to do more. This organization provides free books to public school children who likely do not have books of their own at home. They are passionate about their mission and give away thousands of books a year to children from kindergarten to high school seniors.
Now I volunteer regularly at a local school to read to one class of children throughout the school year. It's so rewarding, the children get so excited when they see me come into the room. They are engaged when I read and always participate in discussions afterwards. Of course they are excited to pick out a book of their own to take home.
Now Book'em has a bus that will be able to go to where children are in their neighborhoods and pass out books. It's brightly painted, kid friendly and packed with books.
I so love this organization that I asked to serve on the board and be a part of planting the seed to make life long readers.
Book'em is always among a select group of non-profits that I support financially every year.”

“Before getting my own place I was here and the day hours were great. Laundry, food is yummy, shop using points for clothes, necessities like hygiene products, and extra things there, classes help accumulate points, and other resources are here to help you better yourself. The staff cares about you, even when things are difficult they all seem pretty patient. Mental illness and homelessness can cause stressors and they have a good team here to help. I appreciate all they did for me.”

“Having done previous counseling and recovery work, I came in a bit skeptical and anxious about whether Bethesda would be able to offer me anything helpful. I was pleasantly surprised. Whether you’ve tried other counseling or recovery programs before or have never opened up to anyone at all, this is a place you can come and first find a place of safety and healing, but also a ton of practical advice to actually equip you to walk out of there with a hope for your future.

I didn’t really know what to expect with having a roommate, or whether I would even connect with the other guys, but by day 2, me and my roommate were really synced up, and it was kind of uncanny the degree to which we could relate to each other. I walked away from there with a ton of gratitude for the counselors, the program, the way God moved in our lives, and for having gained a brother in the battle in the process.

I also want to give a specific shout out to my group counselor, Kirk, who is one of the realest dudes I’ve met. No cheesy Christian platitudes; Just grounded practical advice from his years of expertise as a counselor and from a faith that can actually endure the darkness rather than ignore it or just simply Band-Aid over it.

To just shoot you straight, as the disciples said in the gospels, “Come and see.””
