I scheduled an emergency propane delivery on December 14, with confirmation it would be completed by end of day December 16. AmeriGas did not arrive until December 17.
When the driver arrived, no attempt was made to contact the adult on site to perform a required leak check. Despite this, the tank was filled without a leak check, then locked, leaving us unable to use the propane.
AmeriGas has since refused or failed to send a technician to unlock the tank and complete the leak check. A follow-up visit scheduled for December 18 was missed, and customer service stated it would be another five days before anyone could come out.
As a result, our home dropped to 42 degrees, and after four days without heat we were forced to leave our home with our two young children (ages 2 and 4) because it was no longer safe.
Repeated calls to customer service could not be escalated to a U.S.-based supervisor, and no meaningful resolution was offered.
This was not just an inconvenience — it was a serious service failure with safety implications. I would strongly caution anyone relying on AmeriGas for emergency service.
It’s the 22nd, I still have no heat, my entire family is sick, and I owe this company over $400 in service charges, an additional service fee when they come back to fix the job they didn’t complete and the cost of the propane.

I kept telling customer service the automatic reader was not registering correctly! After 18 calls, I finally reached the end! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AMERIGAS. Use a local supplier.

Absolute nightmare. Placed order to fill tank on 11/24/2025 and was at 40%. Received email and texts confirming my request and to expect delivery between 12/01 and 12/03/3025. Received email and texts in 12/03/2025 stating working to reschedule delivery. On 12/05/2025, as advised no delivery request had been made. Asked how did I get email and text confirming my request. Spoke with supervisor and told her we were at 27% and she advised we would receive our delivery between 12/05 and 12/08/2025. Received email and texts confirming anticipated delivery. On 12/07/2025 received email and texts stating working to reschedule my delivery. Spoke with another supervisor on 12/08/2025 and informed her we were now at 20% and she advised our propane would be delivered on 12/09/2025. No delivery or emails or texts in 12/09/2025. Spoke with another supervisor in 12/10/2025 and advised we were at 17% and was told delivery was en route. Finally delivered in the afternoon of 12/10/3025–16 days after my initial request and more than 3 hours on the phone with customer service reps and supervisors. Been a customer for over 17 years. Have lost all confidence and respect and will likely not be after this season.

If you have any other choice, NEVER use Amerigas. Worst customer service ever. There are no local offices. Do not expect deliveries in a timely manner or maybe even at all.

Edit: My Mom and grandmother have been 5 days with no gas and Amerigas does not CARE!! Today was the 2nd appointment they have not shown up for. We prepaid for gas- over $600.
If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would. Everyone on the phone is great but then nothing happens!!! My Mom and grandmother are at 6% in their tank and I have ordered gas twice!! I don't know what else to do. Cold weather is here and I have been on hold for an hour and eight minutes at this point. Desperate!!!

called for a refill. Got the automated line. could only get a certain amount because your automated line does not offer a full refill option. Called and talked to a live person and asked for a full refill and was told a notation was made and I would receive the full refill. When the technician arrived he had no Idea what I was talking about and could only give me a certain amount. this is the second time this has happened. Not happy

We have used AmeriGas for 15+ years across many different businesses. I would not recommend them to anyone, the company is not the same as it once was. Recently, the worst customer experience I have ever had. I would highly recommend other propane companies in your area if you are in search of one.
We are still struggling to finalize services because they will not send anyone to pick up their equipment at a warehouse facility we are no longer in.
This has been going on for over a month now and we have reached out to AmeriGas. You call and they send you to a customer service representative in Malaysia, the Philippines, or India.
If you are able to get anyone on the phone then you are redirected 5 times to other representatives that state it is another departments role and return back to a person eventually overseas in a call center.
The customer service on the website is AI generated and doesn’t respond with any updates to request of services nor seeks to reach the customer directly.
Even reading the other reviews and responses from others at AmeriGas are requesting for the customer to continue reaching out through their website.

I Pre-bought my LP gas at a fair price, 30 minutes later and less than a quarter of a mile away from my house I called to purchase gas for my father who is 95 years old.
When I called to pre-buy his gas I was quoted a dollar more per gallon, long story short after several days and on the fourth phone call and after much frustration, trying to negotiate and understand The customer service people, I gave up and purchased his gas at a dollar more than I had purchased mine. I hate to think that they discriminate against the elderly this day in time but cannot come up with any other explanation.

Placed an order and was advised the delivery would be between 11/21-11/23 and that did not happen, neither did I receive any contact. Nor did they contact me when they DID attempts to deliver which they did NOT do either because my dog was outside. Had they called, they could have had me bring my dog inside. Furthermore, if they'd text and advised the delivery schedule as they'd advised, I would have had my dog already up. I was home and they left because my dog was out without even making an attempt to call. That is pure laziness and bad customer service.

THEY STEAL GAS TANKS‼️‼️Was just supposed to be a serive check but the driver took the whole tank that was PRIVATELY OWNED and refuse to talk to me about it or return it i have been hung up on and ignored, they told me there were no notes of a delivery and No one has responded to the return . Its been almost a month in the cold months and i have to buy space heaters now. THEY STEAL GAS TANKS AND ARE SCAMMERS.

Just canceled my service. I've been a customer since 1989 and that means nothing to Amerigas. I called to get an update on my delivery, they would not give me an update because I am not the primary on the account, my late husband is. They wanted me to send a copy of the death certificate to prove his death. They have been accepting my payments without any issues. My customer service representative when I asked to speak with a supervisor told me they wouldn't speak with me because I am not on the account. As a widow, this is by far the worst I have ever been treated. Shame on you Amerigas for being so disconnected with your customer.

Terrible company that over charges residential customers. Can buy the same propane at tractor supply for a dollar less from same company, yet the conglomerate of residents pay more which makes no sense. Also suburban propane charges half this price in panola county, less than 30 min away from me. Supply/demand or not the price should not be over double. Also had a ticket open and was to be called by a supervisor and never received a call. Lazy delivery guy left my lid open on my tank after delivery as well

AmeriGas had the best price I could find. Scheduling was easy, they came out a couple of days after ordering. Very easy process.
