Everything went fairly well except the instructions for pick up in Memphis said to bypass the counter and go upstairs to the kiosk. Went to the kiosk and they sent me back downstairs to stand in line. Return went very easily and no surprises like I've had with Budget.

I have to rent Avis at the Memphis airport through work… cars often faintly smell like cigarettes, staff seem like they couldn’t care less… gas cars are often not full. They apparently don’t have the ability to charge their own electric vehicles… and the EV’s outlets aren’t Tesla compatible which means very few if any options to charge in Memphis… wish my company would use another rental agency…

Do not use Avis at Memphis Airport. Horrible service. No cars available. Waited for over an hour for a car I didn’t reserve. Will not book Avis again.

I had an upgrade and brand new car. The service was excellent and prompt. The agent was very helpful and professional. My car was clean and equipped with top notch technology. Most importantly, the price was outstandingly reasonable. This was my first experience with Avis. I will only rent my cars from Avis from now on.Berthilde B

Avis is always a great place for a rental. Be sure to inspect the vehicle and take a picture of the fuel before and after renting a vehicle. This is no one can falsely charge you $198.99 for non refueling. Also, check vehicle for previous renters trash, clothing, and even broken usb ports. You’ll be blamed for this most likely. However, the performance of Avis’s vehicles are fantastic and reliable for and trip. I do recommend

Zero stars but system makes me give one star. Worst rental experience ever. You make a reservation, arrive on time and they rudely laugh and tell you no vehicles despite you having a reservation. They told me to come back in the morning. After paying for a hotel room and $100 Uber I came back in the morning when I was told there would be cars and they once again literally laughed and said no cars available despite me explaining the situation and how I came in the night earlier. After talking to two people a car magically appeared. When I walked over there were a dozen cars ready to be rented. Lies and over reserved. Never again Avis

I went through Expedia to reserve my vehicle, (Expedia charge $167.95) and when arriving to Avis checkout station, the amount was TOTALLY different from the amount given to me from Expedia. (Avis charge $292.33) Additionally I purchased insurance through Expedia, and they had no record of that. The agent in Memphis was not friendly and not open to research the price difference. However, I must say the check-in agent at the Jackson airport was very friendly and even asked me about my trip and the experience with the vehicle. My frustration with Avis is the agreed amount through Expedia was NOT honored. So, moving forward I will NEVER accept a reservation to Avis through a third party source!

I returned my rental with a full tank of gas and was charged $73.19 for gas. Although this was eventually corrected, I should be able to rely on those checking my car in to do their job correctly. Had I not checked my bill, I may have never noticed so one can only assume how often this happens and Avis gets away with robbing their customers.I was surprised to see additional charges of $30.89 for concession recovery fee and $34 for customer facility charge. What are these additional charges and why am I charged these hidden fees later and not told about them up front? I ended up with a bill that was twice my quote from when I picked it up. I will never use Avis again. Unsatisfactory!

Absolutely not only the worst Avis location but the worst car rental location ever. The arrogance of all reps crosses the line to rudeness and total disregard. They are doing you a favor to even recognize your presence.

I reserved and pre paid for a rental car a week in advance. I showed up and was told there wouldn’t be any cars available until the following day. That didn’t work for my schedule so I took a ride-share instead.3 stars because the lady behind the counter was polite about it.

ZERO stars. I will not do business with Avis again. The car smelled of air-freshener (we found the dispenser and tossed it) which they used, we eventually discovered, to cover the smell of pot. The tired leaked and the passenger side door made a banging sound like a gunshot when it swung open. I alerted the manager upon returning the car. He stated he would refund some money if we gave him a 10/10 review. Eight days later, no refund.
