After the experience I had with Avis, I do not plan to return. I reserved a vehicle with them weeks ago. I went to pick up my rental and once I got inside of the vehicle, the service now light was on and I was told that the vehicle maintenance was due in less than 1,000 miles. My entire trip would be well over that 1,000 miles. The customer representative told me “you’ll be fine, we will service it once you return”. I didn’t feel comfortable with that, as I wouldn’t drive my own personal vehicle under those conditions. I tried every Avis location in Memphis to exchange the vehicle and was given attitude and poor customer service even when I called corporate. One corporate representative laughed at me, in a condescending manner, as I respectfully asked to speak with supervisor (for assistance). A representative at a local branch advised me to go have the service on the vehicle done, which I found to be unacceptable due to the fact that I am a paying customer, paying for a service. The corporate representative told me the same, then stated I’d have to pay for the service and later be reimbursed. After all, I decided to terminate my rental due to safety concerns and lost money on my pre-paid trip. Not once did a receive an apology or any empathy or compassion. This was a horrible experience

Rented a car from AVIS. They called me 24 hours prior and said they would not be open and wouldn’t have a car from me. Gave me a customer service number to call and have it switched to Memphis Airport and they were going to charge me an extra $50 to do that. Talk about terrible customer service. Don’t rent from here.

I've had to call Avis Customer Service regarding the issues I've had with this location twice. The attached pictures speak volumes for poor customer service and lack of knowledge on giving clean cars to clients as well as drive-ready cars. The first car I was given had a broken headlight, I came back in to exchange the vehicle. I was told they had no other vehicles. I inquired about the red blazer sitting next to the car I was given. I was given the red blazer, I went to retrieve it, and it was not cleaned out after the previous renter. It was dirty, out of washer fluid, and required an oil change. Overall, this was a headache.

They never answered the phone I called over 20 times. I reserved a truck paid for it at another location. That place didn't have any cars so the sent me somewhere else which in turn sent me to this place. Needless to say I still don't have my rental that is already paid for. Come to find out this location is CLOSED!!!

This is Jacqueline Lamar with Farmers Insurance. Each time I have called, I have had great customer service. I have rented personally when my car was total. As well as with assistant with provided helpful information to my clients.

Avis is fulla shyt. I rented a car from them, but any time I had questions regarding the rental and billing, they transferred me to their call center, instead of the physical location that I'd gotten the car from. THEY told me because it was funded through my insurance company, they didn't have an option to provide me with any contractual information. So they couldn't tell me ANYTHING about my rental. After the 30 days were up and the rental was returned....by day 32, they drafted almost $5,000 from my account, claiming that direct billing wasn't set up, when indeed it had been, granted they'd done this TWICE, within the first 10 days of me having the rental, but refunded my money back to my account those two times. If it wasn't funded by my insurance company and there was no record of it, why did they replace my funds?I really regret even having to do business with them because their service is complete trash. I've never had such a hassle with any other rental company that I've had with them. I don't ever plan to use them again, for anything.

Booked & paid for a car 3 weeks in advance - but turn up and told they don’t have a car for me. Rude employee just said there is nothing she do and walked away.Terrible attitude and customer service. Will never use Avis again

I'm in town visiting family and booked a rental here for Sunday to get to the Little rock airport for my flight out. The DAY BEFORE they called to let me know I wont have a car because they're out of cars and ARENT EVEN OPEN on sundays. Seriously?? What a joke of a company. I am never renting from Avis again.

Made advanced reservation. Pickup was between 9-12 on Sunday.No one there and door was locked. Front desk of The Hilton said it hasn’t been open on Sunday in 2 years.Vacation Trip ruined. Screw Avis.

To begin, my visit started off unpleasant. The attendant will not let you inside and talks to you through a speaker located at the window. The attendant does not do a walk around the vehicle with you either. I overlooked those things and rented the vehicle anyway. The car wreaked of marijuana!!!! The seats were dirty and it had not been washed. This is unacceptable!!!

I will be going to consumer affairs on Avis for 2 reasons. This location is one. On Sunday June 13th I showed up for my 12:30 pick up that I had already paid for just to find out no one was there to give me the vehicle. I had already had trouble two days prior at the airport. And with it being a Sunday the other locations regardless of company we're close at 12. I was literally stranded and Southaven Mississippi until the next day. I was beyond upset and filled with anxiety.I will do a review for the Shelby Dr location about how nice the manager was to me on the 14th.
