I went in to find an outfit to dance in. I left feeling more like a woman and an increased confidence in my ability to put outfits together. Wow! What an experience to have in an afternoon.I worked with their stylus on staff and highly recommend working with her. I would suggest going in with an open mind. All the staff were very kind and helpful. I got a nice haul of clothing for very reasonable prices.

First time at this location. The store had a nice set up. I took numerous items to sell. When I went back, they gave the majority of my items back. They all were quality items, however for the ones they chose their offer was pretty insulting. I know it's a resale place, but you're going to resale the items for 3x's or MORE than what you offer. True, sellers don't have to accept the offer, but your business should make a fair offer for the value the customers bring! It would be good for marketing.

My first experience shopping at Clothes Mentor was excellent!I came in looking for a very specific style of outfit my daughter wanted. The employees were friendly, and one employee was quick to find an outfit that was perfect for what my daughter was looking for (gothic/victorian).Great prices too!I love the return policy- 7 days as long as tags are still attached, with receipt. We will definitely come back. Thank you for the great service!!

Store only accepts clothes for resale 10am-4pm. This is not acceptable for people who work 9-5 jobs.

I brought in brand new clothes with tags on them that had never been worn because of a weight gain. None of my items were deemed good enough for them to buy from me because they were for "juniors". However I am not a junior by any means. The clothes were size small to medium. It was a complete waste of time to drop off clothes and have to return 2 hours later to be told they couldn't accept my items. I'm not sure who looks at the clothes and determines whether they can be accepted or not but it was odd because the items I brought in looked better than the clothes on the rack. Very disappointing process.. Perhaps they should list their criteria for accepting clothes on the website before people waste time taking clothes to them.

I love shopping at this place typically. I decided to take my clothes to resale today, but they refused to look at them. They claimed they were stored in an attic and stink. I don’t even have an attic and these clothes have been stored in a closet. I believe they were just too lazy to look through them. So disappointing!

I like this store in general, but I had an annoying experience today. They were selling a skirt that was new with tags from TJmaxx. The price from TJmaxx was 9.99. Clothes mentor price was $14.99. I asked if they would match the TJmaxx price tag but they said no. They price based on how much the brand is worth. (The original brand price on the TJmaxx ticket was 13.99)Okay, whatever. If they’re going to do that, they should at least remove the stores price tag so the customers don’t notice that they’re ripping people off. It was THEIR mistake for not ripping out the 9.99 tag, so THEY should have respected the request to price match.I did go ahead and buy it. But it was annoying knowing that if I would have gone into TJmaxx on the right day, I could have spent $5 less.

This is one of my favorite gems in Memphis. I find affordable clothing (and sometimes unique too!) for work and daily wear. I get compliments on my pieces from there often and refer others when I can. I got a pair of silver boots last time I wear all the time now. I love the range of plus sized clothes.

I placed an online order for a handbag and then looked up this location on Facebook. I commented on one of their posts that I had bought an item from them online. Mind you, this was done a few hours before they opened. I was surprised to recieve an immediate reply to my comment. I was informed that my order had been received and already packaged up for shipping.I recieved a shipping notification quickly and my item a few days later. (I am in Michigan). It looks like new and was packaged with care. I am very happy with my first Clothing Mentor purchase and the great customer service I recieved from this location.Thank you again!

The staff are attentive and kind every single time I visit. They will start a basket for me (to hold the clothes I want to try on) so that I'm not bogged down while looking. Clothes are sorted by type - short sleeve, long sleeve, sweaters, etc. and then by size. It makes shopping efficient although I always spend longer shopping than I intend to just because there is so much great stuff to look at. The also have shoes, handbags, wallets and jewelry.I have sold my clothing there one time. After they made their selections of pieces to buy, I was disappointed and greatly annoyed that the clothing they received clean and neatly folded was returned to me wadded up like a pile of dirty clothes in a laundry basket. Should I want to gift those clothes to someone or return them to my closet they will ALL need to be steamed or ironed. Had I known they would treat my clothing submissions so disrespectfully, I would not have brought them in for sale. That cost them a star.If you do decide to sell clothing there, you will receive two offers: a cash price and a store credit amount. The store credit will be about 20 - 25% more than the cash amount.Clothes Mentor is about 20 minutes from my home. I don't make special trips to shop there, but when I'm nearby and have time, I drop in to look. There is a Marshall's closer to my home and I can get new clothing there for close to the same price.

I love Clothes Mentor! They have great prices and sales. And they offer fair pricing when selling too. It looks like that's most of the bad reviews, but if you're wanting top dollar on your clothes, sell them yourself. They have to make money too. It is a business after all. And their customer service is awesome! I've even had employees help me load a bag of clothes they didn't accept back into my car because I was trying to carry my baby too.

When you walk in this store you will immediately walk back out. The attitudes there are simply ridiculous. You will find a better buy at any random weekend yard sale.

I went to the Germantown store and brought in work attire that had been purchased mostly from Macy's. The name brands were Alfani, Style and Company, and MCollection . These clothes were in very good shape and sellable. They informed me that my clothes did not qualify and sent all my clothes back. I was told that they styles were too old. So when does work attire become too old? Needless to say I will never return or suggest anyone else shop there.

#1 I would never sell clothes to this store or any other run on their business model. My friend and I played a game at another Clothes Mentor store where I used to live. She brought in an expensive blouse with tags on that her aunt had just given to her. It was too small, and she wasn't going to mail it back. The store rejected it. I went to the store a month later with the blouse, and they offered to buy it. I could not buy a coffee for what they offered; I brought it home. It was later donated to a good cause, and I hope someone is enjoying her blouse from Anthropologie. Therefore, their buying policy is ruled by serendipity--not fashion sense nor business sense. If you think you can make $ selling them clothes, think again. You are their supply chain, but the are the buyers. #2 I sometimes buy clothes here. They have an amazing selection of jeans and interesting tops, too. But like any second hand store, you have to plow through rack after rack to find a few gems. If you like shopping, it's sort of a paradise. You can pick up some bargains here, especially on their 30% off rack. The merchandise runs from Old Navy to Michael Kors, so you never know what will be in the store. Recommendations: 1) Buy, but do not sell them anything. Try Poshmark instead. 2) Look at their bargain racks. 3) Jeans are probably the best buy in the store.
