Last week I purchased two of the right peice Fried Chicken. They looked ok, I asked the cashier how long they had been sitting there she said maybe two hours. I thought, that fine it should still be good. I was horribly wrong, it tasted like they had been cooked three days prior, it didn't have any seasoning and it tasted like the oil the fried it in was six months old. I have purchased the rotisserie chickens in the past but sometimes they can smell weird and I ALWAYS have to seasoning them when I get home and put them in the oven to finish cooking. I don't know what's going on but I have to do Sam's Club chicken like that too.

It's not Kroger or one of the bougie "healthier foods" grocers. This is what happens when a decent food service store concept meets the interior of Memphis. I worked for GFS for 5 good years and this is disappointing. I've seen several stores in the Nashville and Louisville markets and this one scrapes the bottom of the food service store barrel. There is a gourmet popcorn trailer/booth set up at the front door as if popcorn is in high demand outside of craft fairs and local growers markets. No offense intended to popcorn fans. GFS goes big up north near their headquarters and could've taken a big step and put in at the Lake district, East Memphis, Summer near 40/240, Wolfchase, Germantown, Olive Branch, Southaven, to name a few but old Gordon had a better idea. Plop a shop down in an o.k. part of town and be mediocre. Gordon had very poor management when I left and this store seems to be standing by those principles. Don't get me wrong, you can get whatever you need when it comes to food service. You may have to order it in on the website which is convenient and you can get the same things that you can from a rep or on the truck. You just have to watch your back as you go in, while you shop, and when you're leaving. That being said, this is perhaps the worst location for what they are doing with this type of store. The workers seemed as if they were under some sort of gag order or they were practicing avoidance and denial of human contact, maybe prepping for the plague or a visit from Medusa. I think I saw her there, but thankfully we didn't make eye contact. I can only imagine what their losses are each day due to theft. Just hand cash out at the door already. This after one of the workers opened up and said it happens all the time and implied that she hated where they are located. Bad decisions perhaps? I'm sure it's profitable though. GFS was a great company before the decline in good leadership and the loss of some veteran employees in this region. I know this has more to do with the division I worked in but it bleeds down. Shout out to C.M. i.e. the worst manager ever who was able to take the best food service delivery to work for and turn it on its head. But, I digress. All of that said, if you need something food service and want to risk the trip then go ahead. (Go head) as we say in the 901.

I usually have a good experience here. The frozen desserts are wonderful. Earlier this week I found that most of the items I was looking for were past the sell by date. The sesame sticks were over 8 months past the date. I didn't notice until I tried them at home and found them stale. When I returned them 3 days later, the moldy rotting cucumbers I saw on Tuesday were still there on Friday. I gave them to the manager. When you go, please check the sell by dates.

Today was my very first time in a gordon store. The staff was wonderful. The store was clean and well lit. They had great selections and prices. My only complaint is with the wheelchairs. Luckily I was there to push my sister around the store. Having to push the weight of her was hard enough. But when you add items into the basket. good god

Nice market fair selection and good quality for the price. Lacking in customer service due to few employees, otherwise a great location for Midtown

On today at at 7:30 am I purchased an italian sandwich by the front door. Once I started eating I noticed plastic all thru the sandwich. the am prep lady did not remove plastic before going to the slicer with meat. I spoke to David the Manager barely empathized with me.
