I like staying at Hilton brand hotels. I usually have a nice room, great service and the price is reasonable. I went to Memphis for a wedding this weekend and picked this hotel because I felt like it would fit was I was used to and was in good proximity to the event. Boy was I wrong. The only good thing was the lady that checked us in. She was great. Personable, helpful, and didn’t make us feel like we were a hassle. Once we left the lobby things went down hill. The place was dirty. The elevator looked and sounded like it was on its last leg. We walk into the room and it smelled musty. Like it hadn’t been used in a while. We had 4 people and the room only had 3 towels. The great lady at the desk helped us fix that quickly. The sheets and other bedding was stained. One was a dark black stain not easily overlooked. We stayed 2 nights. Friday night we went to bed and watched TV with our sons. When we woke up Saturday morning the TV would not come on. My wife was trying to use the electrical outlets in the bathroom and none of them would hold the cord in. We called the front desk and informed them of the issue with the TV. And went on about our day. We arrived back several hours later and the TV still wasn’t working. My wife bluffed it into a different outlet and it came on. Multiple electrical issues that could cause injuries or worse a fire and no one came to check. The parking lot is tiny, cramped and relatively dark at night. A man offered sexual favors, in the parking lot, to my mother who was staying a couple of rooms down from us this weekend. The hotel was far from full and they were unable to give us adjoining rooms that we requested. It was an all around bad experience. I probably won’t stop staying at Hilton brand hotels, but I will not be back at this one and will share my experience with anyone who cares. My mother says this comment box isn’t big enough for all the negative this she has to say. If I were you needing to stay overnight, and God forbid it’s because you have a loved one in Baptist hospital, I would pick anywhere else.Rooms: They aren’t great. The beds are ok, sheets and other bedding may have stains. The carpets were vacuumed this year at some point. No fridge or microwave in the room. A/C and heat worked in ours.Nearby activities: Lots of restaurants nearby, other hotels are closer to them.Safety: They have a guy in a truck that drives around at night.Walkability: There is a sketchy gas station about 100 yards away.Food & drinks: Breakfast is ok. Not bad not great. Turkey sausage and no bacon. They do not have vending and the front desk only accepts cards for anything they sell you.Noteworthy details: The rooms smell and you can’t use the electrical outlets.

Front desk lady was more helpful, friendly and inviting, same cannot be said of the gentleman. Great location, close to the I-240 hwy, decent complimentary breakfast, hotel is a bit dated, drab interior decor, rooms clean, comfortable bed. Depending o location of room, WiFi can be weak. Had issues with AC not working and toilet constantly flushing.

This Hampton Inn management is inflexible. Its proximity to Baptist East makes it convenient for appointments. I reserved a room on June 7, 2023 for an early morning test on June 9. On June 8 the doctor’s office called to cancel the next-day test. I immediately called Hampton to cancel the reservation and spoke to someone later identified as the manager. He canceled the reservation using my confirmation number. The room charge went through on my credit card. I called June 26 and 27 and explained the situation to but the manager was unavailable. In the first call Ty front desk person said he would leave my contact information on the manager’s desk and he would talk to the manager. In the second call the same person said he talked to the manager who said he would take care of my request that day.I heard nothing and saw no refund. I called back October 3, 2023, asked to speak to the person whose name had been provided as the manager. He shut me down on a refund or other compensation, ultimately citing the small print on Hampton policy.Without Baptist East this Hampton wouldn’t be there. Who among us has NOT had a doctor’s appointment or test rescheduled? This tight timeline of my reservation needs a human’s attention, not a “small print” small mind. Corporate Hampton, do you condone inflexible management?

Arrived to find out there was no hot water. We were assured it would be fixed before the night was over. We had been sightseeing and decided to just try to make the best of it. Upon entering the room, there appeared to be 2 dead bugs on the floor. Bathroom only had less than 1/4 of a roll of tissue, and only 4 towels total in the room. The water situation was not fixed, so, being older travelers we were not happy. The only positive thing to say about this property was the hot breakfast. It was good.

I booked 2 room that were supposed to be adjoining. When I got to the hotel I was told they didn’t have adjoining rooms so we ended up with rooms beside each other. We were on the 4th floor. There was no air conditioning in hallway of the 4th floor and it was extremely hot. The thermostat on the wall in the hall had no cover and there were multiple wires exposed. One of the rooms was not thoroughly cleaned, I found an empty water bottle and other trash under the bed and behind the best side table. Later that evening we found out that neither of the rooms had hot water. I called the front desk and was told they had attempted to reset the breaker on the broiler, it wouldn’t reset and that we would not have any hot water. WiFi would not stay connected and there were post sticking out beyond the mattresses that several of our party hit their legs on. The AC in one room wasn’t cooling like it should and we got hot in the night. When I called the front desk requesting compensation, I was told I had to call the manager Monday morning. I tried to call the hotel and no one would answer the phone. This is by far the worst Hampton I have ever stayed in. The best part of the stay was the location near the event we were attending and the breakfast.Rooms: The beds we comfortable

We had a mobility accessible room booked almost 2 months in advance of our stay. Upon arrival, an accessible room was not available. The front desk clerk would not help us find another as “they have no way to do that.” We had to find a room in a city we do not know.

We checked in at after 4 in the afternoon and when we got to our room it hadn’t even been cleaned yet. The bathroom was a mess and the bed was a mess. They did move us into another room but there were other people leaving because they’d had enough. One gentleman we encountered was holding his fresh bedding in his arms. Some of the staff was not exactly friendly either. Our new room’s toilet was constantly running and leaking. The pool has been drained and shut down since July due to it being green. The owner of this hotel needs to lose his Hilton franchise license. We will not be staying at this hotel ever again. As the saying goes “You get what you pay for”. There’s a reason this hotel is cheaper than the others.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Read the reviews. This place is dangerous. My vehicle was broken into along with five other truck / cars. When I reported the break in to front desk the very first thing they said was "the hotel was not responsible ". You would think they would have said something symantec but since this happens so often they went right into defensive mood. The rooms were also well below Hilton standards. The room I was in needs several repairs and was not very clean.Safety: Many auto break ins

Room 434 July 27 -29I'm homeless and really needed somewhere clean to relax for once, and I had a job interview. The receptionist never answers the phone and is barely at the desk. The room was filthy. Hair and crumbs in drawers. Microwave had crumbs. Bed duvet had makeup and red stains. Tub had hair in it. Ceiling in the bathroom had mold. The thermostat needs to be explained. Fridge collected water in the bottom. The hallway and elevator are hot except for the 1st floor. Was promised compensation for my bad experience but never received it.

Just not a good facility with staff not compensating for it. The staff not friendly at all. I'm a diamond member and was not given a late check out despite having available rooms. The location is good especially if you need to stay close to Baptist hospital.

The hotel smells like mildew, the rooms aren’t clean and I had to get three rooms to finally settle into the last one to find ANOTHER maintenance issue (severely clogged sink). The hotel needs to be closed and completely remodeled. Based on the smell and humidity level I would not be surprised if there is mold under the carpets.
As a Diamond and Aspire member I am highly disappointed that Hilton allows this hotel to operate under their brand. Unacceptable!

Electrical sockets were not fully seated into the wall, the room was not cleaned. The hotel side door was not working properly (would not lock, huge safety concerns) the pool was not opened, green nasty water, looked horrible)

I unfortunately have to agree with the other reviewers, this Hampton Inn is struggling. I travel for business in the medical field and my company always puts me in Hilton brand hotels. Never had any issues before, but this hotel was really bad.The thermostat didn’t work and the room was so uncomfortably cold. The pool is completely green and looks like it hasn’t had upkeep in years. I carry frozen medication with me and this is the first Hilton brand hotel I’ve ever stayed at that didn’t have a mini fridge so I had to rely on ice for my meds. The window shade was broken which made my room very bright from all the street lights outside and the sun coming up in the morning. Also just as a heads up, the first floor smelled very strongly of weed. It didn’t bother me but I do want to point it out in case that would bother you. I did give it two stars because the location was good and convenient to the site I needed to go to.

This hotel was just ok. I only stayed because there was no other hotels available. I don't think they really clean the rooms. The bed was so itchy and had crumbs under the sheets. The manager on duty did not greet me the morning of check out. All he said was "room number "... I will not stay there again. The only positive was their wonderful breakfast. The ice machines were so dirty.

A couple of employees gave me incorrect information about how much advance time was needed to shorten a stay and whether the air conditioning was working in the inn (after a large power outage in Memphis). But desk clerk CALVIN STOUDEMIRE straightened everything out. He was calm, knowledgeable, reassuring, and professional. Because of his help, I would be happy to stay at this inn again.
