3 stars for convenience. The store has had issues with incorrect pricing for years. The "check your receipt" security guards are more respectful now than they were. They need to hire more workers to collect carts; often have to get your own from the parking lot.
The final straw is they close at 10:40pm - not 11pm. No one is allowed in after 10:40pm. Confirmed by MOD & Security 3 different times.

I had a disappointing experience at this Kroger location. The professionalism of the staff did not meet my expectations, and I noticed that some employees were more focused on socializing rather than assisting customers. Additionally, I observed that the night manager, Preston, was not actively addressing store operations. It would be beneficial for management to ensure that employees maintain a high standard of service and professionalism to enhance the overall shopping experience.

8 employees standing around on the front end doing nothing! Not one human cashier! If you're going to make me do the cashier's job, don't have multiple employees watching and doing Nothing! Oh yeah, loved being harassed by armed guards on the way out the door, even though I had receipt in my hand! WE DESPERATELY NEED AN ALTER

I was ascoted by 3 different beggars on the way from the parking lot to the front door, and then the same 3 beggars on the way back to my car. This place is straight up not safe. I'd recommend driving 3 miles east and going to Sprouts or Whole Foods.

Some of the 'security'/receipt checkers need better training. I'm putting the details so the store manager can address, but today 2.20.25 around 1:15pm I'm leaving the store with two items in a kroger bag and the black security guy asked me if I had a receipt and I simply responded I do and kept walking past him. He then proceeded to yell out 'well be ignorant then'. I didn't have an attitude, I simply answered his question while I walked out the door. Unless there's some new rule that I dont know about I'm not required to show them my receipt and I definitely wasn't going to pull it back out of my purse for two items in the store bag. I understand there is a lot of theft occuring (former retail manager) but companies/employees should only request to see the receipt when items aren't bagged. That particular guard was unnecessarily ignorant himself and should've let me go without the remark, do better.
Edit: After reading other reviews I see they have changed the rules. They aparrently have a sign that says receipt required but I didnt see it upon my entry nor exit. This will make it even less likely for me to shop there or to just do the pickup option which is probably their ultimate goal anyway because they incentivize the pickup option often. If they add accurate clearance prices/inventory to the app then I'll start going that route.

I went in at 7:30 to get assistance at the money service no one was at the desk when I finally saw someone they told it was closed after I called and also looked online very inconsiderate

If I could leave zero stars I would.please do not order pick up from this location they will confirm pick up time then message you to not be late and then once you get there will call and say order is not ready total inconsideration for customers and there time

The Kroger at Poplar Plaza has to be the WORST grocery store in Memphis! Their Customer Service is virtually non-existent. I have placed pick-up orders a few times in the last few months and the orders are NEVER ready on time. My last order wasn't going to be ready until TWO (2) days later! That is beyond ridiculous. I will be splitting my shopping between an Aldi's and a Super Lo from now on. I will NEVER return to that Kroger, and I will, for what it's worth, complain to Corporate.

I shopped at here @ 1pm, 2 days before Christmas. They only had 1 entry door open. Upon leaving, I was stopped by security to show my receipt. I guess they have a new policy to check everyone’s receipt when exiting. Completely crazy!

It is hard for me to put higher than 3 stars this time because my pickup up was for 4p-5p but I didn't get it until close to 7:30p December 23, 2024 after I was told it was pushed back but the reasons the stars are what they are os because of the kindness and helpfulness of Miss Camyron and Manager Miss Keyonna. I appreciate their hard work and remaining as calm as they can be to get the work done. I'm sure they had customers that may not have been very nice but they still spoke to me with respect, clearly, consideration, and care. I just want to let them Know that I appreciate it. Thank You for making my experience way better than it could have been!!! 😁😁😁

Did a pick up order through this store. A young kid came out to deliver the order not paying attention and on his phone. I got home and I'm missing all my frozen items! Instacart refunded the items but that's not the point. Now I have to reorder and go back out! Thanks a lot!!!
