Do not shop at this store. As a family of four we like to shop at a variety of grocery stores in Memphis and Kroger has a great selection of wine at reasonable prices. We always use the self check out, because working in a grocery store is hard enough for the employees and it is usually busy. Our kids like to scan the items in our cart and we tend to buy beer and wine regularly. As is the case normally, the attendant came over to check out ID and approve the sale. After doing so we continued to scan our items and bag them. Suddenly, what I can only assume was the manager came over, wig askew, a piece of chicken she was eating in hand, mask hanging off her face full of food, spittle flying out, shouting that "this woman", my wife was "having her child ring up her alcohol". She then removed it from our cart. Even at this point my wife, being the decent person, asked if we needed to check out in a different lane, but the beast of an employee didn't even acknowledge her and left with the items in her possession. Not only was this beyond any experience I have ever heard of, to witness it in person absolutely guarantees we will never step foot in Kroger or any of its affiliated stores for a lifetime. As a Nurse who deals with the worst situations in customer service, to be treated like this in a place of business is intolerable and has no place in civil society. Good riddance to bad service. Thanks for making sure we never have to shop in Kroger again.

The selection is ok (usually out if stuff ) but going to self - checkout is ridiculous. When someone has a basketful of groceries and has to checkout and bag themselves is ridiculous. I work all week and I should NOT have to do someone else’s job. Plus think about people who may not have help or the elderly. If I do someone else’s job I should get paid for it or a huge discount. Mom and pop stores will see a GREAT increase in customers!

I would give 0 stars if I could!Kroger on Poplar has shut down all of the checkout lines with a checker and bagger. You now have to use the self-checkout lanes. I was in line 30 to 40 minutes waiting to checkout. One of the employees said that this is a permanent change! ??Some of the self- checkout machines broke down while I was waiting to check out, and the employee had to keep going over to help customers with the machines. My frozen groceries started thawing out while I waited to check out.The C-Suite executives who came up with this idea are idiots! ??

The pick up is a mess, there is always something wrong or missing from my order. Recently I’ve started getting calls being told that it won’t be ready until hours after I set my pick up time to. One time they set it back an entire day. Without fail, something is always missing or substituted poorly without notice. I have not encountered a decent employee in the entire time I have used this kroger. After my most recent visit I will not be using this kroger again for my pick ups, I’m willing to drive a little further for a better experience.

Suppose to close at 11pm but they shut down the registers at 1050pm and did a minute by minute count down over the intercom at least since 1042pm. after a long trip with dogs, we were hoping to get some groceries and didnt expect to have that time shortened nor did we expect them to tell everyone they couldn't checkout at 1150 and had to leave. the kept walking around looking at their watches and no one was helpful.

I have shopped at the Plaza Drive store since the very day it opened and like it and the pharmacy, but I may have to stop if they don't clear up the awful smell. Today is July 13 and the first ime I noticed was about three weeks ago! I ran in today pick up a prescription and a few small things and thought I wouldn't get out before I threw up. This is unacceptable in a place that sells food and makes the whole shopping experience unecssarily unpleasant. Please have more consideration for your employees and customers.

In short, i was denied service bc they were closing. Time was 9:51 pm when i went back to the front of the store to grab a shopping cart. We only came to get a watermelon. The self-check out clerk was full of attitude and I've never had such impeccably rude service in throwing customers out, just bc they want to get off work. Where are the good employees anymore?

This is the 2nd time in 2weeks that I've been hit with this awful smell upon walking into the store. Please fix what ever it is because I cannot and will not purchase any food from here until that is fixed.

Avoid this location if you’re looking for an accurate pick up order. Not only is the pickup staff completely incompetent, they top it all off with a nasty attitude when you have to return to the store for the items you paid for.

They are always out of stock. Security is not securing anything. They don't even be looking outside. They never have registers open. They close entrances off at 6p. They never have shopping carts available. We have to go fetch them. The parking lots are always filthy. People are always loitering, begging, and pestering in the parking lots.

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ (0 out of 5 stars)Oh, Kroger, where do I begin? It’s like stepping into a parallel universe where customer service goes to die. If you’re looking for a lackluster shopping experience with an overwhelming sense of abandonment, this is the place for you!First and foremost, Kroger seems to have taken the term “self-service” a little too seriously. It’s a game of hide-and-seek to find an employee willing to assist you. And when you finally manage to locate one, they’re either MIA or engrossed in an intense staring contest with a slab of ham, completely oblivious to the customers in need. Now, let’s talk about the deli. Or should I say, “The Deli That Never Was.” It’s like a mythical land, always closed or unstaffed, mocking hungry souls with its tantalizing aroma of sliced meats and cheeses. And on the rare occasion when someone actually mans the deli counter, it’s as if they’ve perfected the art of saying “no” without even uttering a word. Their excuse game is strong, as they effortlessly come up with reasons why they can’t assist you, ranging from “The turkey slicer is taking a siesta” to “We’re fresh out of ham because it’s Wednesday.”But fear not, dear shoppers, because there’s an upside to all of this. Kroger is the ideal place for people-watching, as you can witness employees engaging in Olympic-level loafing. You’ll find them skillfully maneuvering through the aisles at the pace of sloths, as if they’re participating in a secret “Slowest Employee of the Year” competition. It’s truly a sight to behold. In conclusion, if you enjoy the thrill of navigating a deserted store, desperately seeking assistance from employees who have mastered the art of laziness, and dreaming of a deli that’s always closed or staffed by excuse-spewing wizards, then Kroger is the place for you. For the rest of us seeking competent service, quality products, and a hint of productivity, it’s best to look elsewhere.

Absolutely horrible grocery store. Produce section ALWAYS has gnats and flies on the Produce. 90% of the self check outs are ALWAYS closed, no matter if lines are going down the aisles. Staff is rude, unattentive, unhelpful, and seem like they hate that you're shopping with them. The last straw for me was this; at 6:40pm, I checked out on the side of the store I finished shopping on. I walked to the opposite side of the store to exit because thats where I parked and entered. I was then stopped because it's "store policy" to close those doors. I asked if I could just run by because they hadn't even closed them, they just had bodies there starting the process. I could even see other customers stepping out as I was stopped. My car was right there too! I was denied my request with the robotic response all sheep employees have, "ItS StOre PoLicY..." I seriously wonder if they'd say the same thing to someone who can't walk well.Memphians have none of that "southern hospitality" you guys hear about. None.In short, Produce and deli products are garbage and should be avoided for health reasons. And don't expect any human decency from the employees either. You're just a nuisance for shopping with them. Go somewhere else if you can.

Kroger makes claims that their produce is fresh, I bought a bag of Halo oranges yesterday and had to throw three away today because they were already moldy. Come on! is this a joke?? Do better Kroger smh
