Great location. A bit dated. Need to lose the carpets in the rooms. Needs to modernize to hardwood.

I’ve stayed here quite often usually very nice. Not so much this time. Power was out for just shy of 24 hours. Not their fault. However was told there would be compensation for the inconvenience. No such luck still paid full price. They sent any new customers to other hotels but those of us who were already cked in just note the in convenance for full price.
Rooms: Rooms were clean
Food and drinks: Service in both the restaurant and the concierge lounge was poor at best.

Very nice but the only downside is the rooms only come with king size or double beds. No queen beds.

The room ceiling had paint peeling from the bathroom ceiling the doors for the closet in the bathroom slide together one door so if you in the bathroom the closet door is open and barely move kept coming off track. The main hallway once we got to the third floor smell like mold. They charge $12 for parking and a big parking lot never heard that before will not go back.

No free breakfast... They were charging $19 per person for breakfast. I've never heard of that at a hotel before!
Also, it was really hard to find the light switch for the unit around the TV. It took me 10 minutes to find the switch on the side of a desk. I go to a hotel simply so sleep and I couldn't get to sleep with the lights on.

When we arrived at the hotel at 530, the room was not ready, although check in is at 4 and when I had call earlier in the day, they said it would be ready. They had absolutely no concern that we were not able to go to our room until 7pm. They stated they gave the previous occupant a late check out.
Breakfast was outrageous for what is was. They were out of so many items. The first morning, we cleaned our own table off. They did not have silverware now cups for drinks. They ran out of coffee. And then wanted to charge us for our breakfast.
Elevators were broken.
The room itself was nice .
Rooms: The rooms were great.
Nearby activities: A lot nearby
Safety: I felt safe and the parking lot was regularly monitored
Walkability: Unable to walk due to the road/interstate
Food and drinks: Bar drinks were very expensive but good taste ands good options. The bar tender was just unfriendly. Breakfast service was terrible as mentioned.

This was a pleasant stay! Clean rooms. Great location near restaurants and a Whole Foods. Well-stocked snacks in the cafe, too.

Honestly. This Marriott left me smh!. First room we were in had Not been cleaned very well at all! We found water bottle between bed and night stand! And a mans sock was Not picked up by housekeeping. The first room smelled a whole lot like pee. ..We were moved to a better room and im thank ful that there was one available. The lobby has No heat and found out it hasn't had any for years as the employees were working in there coat And gloves. I truly felt sorry for the peopl trying to do there job And cold at the same time! Shame on Marriott Memphis East! Your lobby needs heat. It was n the 30's when we were there and winter is just getting started

Miss PJ (Spelling?) at the front desk is one of the kindest souls. She really cares for the people she helps.

The assistant general manager Bridgett is the worst representation of this hotel for this to be a Marriott. Her customer service is poor and she doesn’t deserve the position that she’s in. She don’t care how she talk to guests. She threatened to cancel my reservation due to her listening to a conversation between me and a guests and the only statement that was made that she did like was me saying that she’s very unprofessional. Next day I woke up, check out wasn’t until 12. I was in bed undressed and a housekeeper just walked in without even knocking on the door around 9am. I was giving the general managers email to speak with him and I’ve waiting two weeks and still no email back from him. This is the worst marriott I’ve ever been to and I’m always out of town and the only place I will stay is in a Marriott. But this particular hotel I will never ever go back!!! Save yourself the troubles and book at the location 2 minutes away from this location.

Our stay was wonderful. Special thanks to Kiara at Reception. Her hospitality, humor, and genuine kindness sent us on our way with joy in our hearts and faith in humanity.
