South Memphis Market is a neighborhood corner store that serves some of the best fried chicken in Memphis. The chicken is fried to perfection, fresh out the grease, with excellent seasoning. The store also offers other cook-to-order items, like delicious wings, along with general goods such as drinks and snacks. The owners practice their principles by not serving pork. While the food is consistently praised, the area outside can sometimes be concerning.
It's in the hood so be careful and aware of your surroundings. Chicken was ok nothing special.

Stopped by for lunch, heard the fried chicken is good here. Was not disappointed. The burger and fries are also done perfectly, not too greasy and are well seasoned. The chicken is crispy outside and tender inside with excellent sauce coated. Saw the back kitchen too, very clean and sanitary.
Highly recommended.

I just moved back to Memphis my favorite good store still running they see me every morning now thanks guys and gals that work here food always on point never ever had one complaint
