We stepped over a boat cruise and had a reservation for a car for one day. When we took the people mover all the over to the other side of the airport, went upstairs and over to the far side of the parking garage, we were told there were no cars available. I indicated we had a reservation. Well, the girl could have cared less. Our friends traveling with us had a rental through Hertz, so we went to the counter with them to Hertz and were able to secure a rental.

Do not go here! the staff told me they do not honor any reservation, it is just first come first serve. They had no car for us, no idea when we would get a car and when I offered to come back the next day they said they still could not guarantee a car. Wasted way to much of my precious vacation time dealing with their rude staff. Avoid at all costs, it is not worth it.

If it were possible, I would rate Thrifty lower! I made a reservation two week before my trip. Had a confirmation from Expedia. Upon arrival I was told that they had no cars and it would be a 3-4 hour wait. I asked what was the value of a reservation, but did not receive an answer. The attendant took my phone # and said I would be called when a car arrived. 3 1/2 hours later I asked where I was on the list and was told that the attendant had shouted my name, but did not know how to pronounce it. No attempt was made to call me, as stated. I missed a business meeting and did not arrive at my destination until much later than planned. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!

Horrible experience! They have so few cars in their fleet, but their app and web site keeps taking reservations without cars to fulfill them. Their staff has been reduced to the barest of minimum, expect long waits, rude counter representatives, and don't expect them to honor any pricing, car size or rates. They make it up as they go along. When I finally got a car..... it cost me an extra $25 per day! But wait, there's more. The interior reeked of the strong smell of recently smoked marijuana cigarette. No extra charge for that.

Had car issues and called customer service we're told to come and exchange car. Get to the location, the rep asked my husband what he wants, JUST LIKE THAT, he lets her know the problem and that we have confirmation #s she proceed to tell him she didn't care about that, and where were we coming from (Texas) and she states "yeah we're not doing any exchange" at this point I'm feeling she was being racist. So we contact customer service and found a different solution because the customer service was honestly disgusting. Please take note on the reviews. Customer service didn't suck at Bush int airport in Texas but Memphis location -5 if I could.

Didn't honor my reservation. Made no attempt to provide me with any recourse. Just said "you didn't prepay, so you can just cancel". Left me stuck in the airport for two hours waiting on someone to come pick me up. Absolute trash customer service.

We had a reservation and had to wait hours before getting our car and almost didn't get one because they ran out. Luckily the employees working were able to get us one. Positive part of the experience was the employees working, Kaylitha and Kiyashi. They are the reason we got a car at the last minute, would've been stranded without them. Thank you ladies so much!!

Wish I could leave zero stars. The worst rental experience I've ever had. It's not rocket science. Don't take 200% more reservations than you have vehicles. Absolutely criminal.

I made a reservation a month prior to my trip. When I arrived at the airport kiosk in Memphis, I was told they had NO cars available. The employee couldn't have cared less. She literally said "you're on your own!" Avoid this company forever!

Absolute garbage company. Booked ahead 2 days only to be told it was 1.5 hr wait upon arrival. The excuse I was given was "they're washing the cars" WHAT A JOKE. Dude at the counter was an a** about it too didn't even say sorry for the wait and couldn't even look me in my eye to tell me they had no cars. Avoid at all costs.

I'd reserved a car with Thrifty on Expedia with my debit card. I got to the Thrifty counter at the Memphis airport and they would not rent me a car. They said they wouldn't accept that same debit card even though I'd already paid for it in full on Expedia. They told me probably no one would else at the airport would rent a car to me with a debit card. I walked to the National counter, they rented me a car and within 20 minutes I was on my way. I will never rent from Thrifty again.

If no star was an option I would list it. Over an hour waiting along with a number of other travelers. Over 600 dollars for a rental to be given Piss poor service, a smelly vehicle followed by bad attitude and given a smelly vehicle. Service reps were more concerned with leaving at 8 than they were taking Care of their customers. After requesting a different vehicle service members proceeded to question our concerns and say they had no other vehicles available. I will say that the service worker did attempt to change the car but did her system would not let her. said management was on the way told us to wait and that they were one their way. After waiting an additional 20 minutes service member walked over to say we could return in the morning as there was nothing that could be done for the night. As we pulled out to leave there was a line of 2-3 other guests waiting to stand at an empty service desk. As I did in no way appreciate the attitude of the staff towards the end of our service my issue was with the lack of professionalism shown and complete lack of care or action by management and poor planning. Service staff can only do so much which I completely understand but the handeling of the situation and watching there handling of other customers was the worst service i have ever experienced. Management should be ashamed and even moreso for leaving their staff hanging i appreciate the service worker for coming back to inform us at the very least

Even though this is a national chain, this particular branch gives a black eye to the company. Our plane in a bit late, but the car, a midsized SUV, was not ready, so we waited a good half hour, 45 minutes. We realized the car wouldn't be large enough for 4 people plus luggage, so we tried to get a larger car. The charge for it would be an additional $125 per day!!! The cost of the SUV was already over $100 a day, so to tack on another $125 on top was more than we could believe!! If we had walked up to the counter without a reservation, the rental cost would have been $325 per day!!! Can you spell RIPOFF!!! Needless to say, we canceled the SUV and took a cab to the hotel, $34 plus 20% tip. I truly hate to give bad reviews, but this exceeds BAD BUSINESS practices!!

They dont give a damn about customers here... The girl thought she closed the window and promptly said if you dont like it you can walk...i am a blue chip too but I didnt reserve it that way...was going to add it here. I wonder if I would have an hour wait for my car??? This is unacceptable for them to do this... i was waiting downstairs for no one at their desk so save yourself the drama.., theres others on site.
