Excellent service and great car selection. I love the AVIS app as it allows you to choose your own car. On this visit I had a technical issue with my credit card. The Avis staff was very helpful and patient with me. I ended up getting an almost new vehicle, which I got to select and enjoyed my business trip.

I will not be using Avis anymore. Horrible experience. I was charged $480 with a $200 deposit at the counter picking up the car from Thursday 2/29-Thursday 3/7. I returned the car early on Tuesday 3/5. When returning the car I was charged $604 total with no deposit back and no itemized receipt for the extra charges. When I called to see what was going on, I received no help but the run around. Charges and taxes are outrages.

Hands down horrible customer service and worst car rental experience imaginable.Arrived at BNA and waited inline inside because the AVIS smart phone app wouldn't allow me to select a car and complete the automated process. Waited in line 15 minutes while the only employee working worked with another family. The line backed up another 5 people behind me so a family member held my position inside while I went outside.I reserved a full size 7 passenger SUV 8 weeks ago. I was told there were no full size 7 passenger SUVs available for my family. When I looked around the lot there were no less than 4 full size SUVs sitting there. I was told the SUVs I could see were committed to other customers not yet onsite and no one could explain the selection criteria on while other customers (not yet at the airport) could get a vehicle but I couldn't.I was then offered a full size Expedition (PERFECT EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED). When I opened the door you could smell cigarette smoke in the vehicle. Not an option for my family. The people at the airport offered no solution, no assistance no refunds, no alternatives, just sorry we dont have anything for you (KEEP IN MIND- other people are getting the vehicle I need and driving away in them.After an hour of asking I was offered a standard Jeep, small SUVs, cars and other vehicle only capable for handling a small family. I was finally given a Toyota 4Runner that held our luggage and 4 people.I left the lot disappointed wondering how we would be able to get the other family members we were picking up. After calling AVIS corporate customer service they told me there was a Minivan at another offsite location in Downtown. We drove to the location only to find they had no vehicles besides a full size Ram truck and a small sedan. The gentlemen at the Church St location were a HUGE help. After 20 minutes of searching they found a minivan at another location.3rd Avis location visited we finally found a Van large enough for our needs. The family loaded the luggage and we headed on our way. The car was the disgusting to say the least. Dog hair everywhere and smelled like a wet dog, The windows were so dirty we had to take the van to a car wash and clean the inside and outside of the car. The windows have been down for hours and the car still smells.Hands down horrible experience

RESERVATION #657205I reserved a vehicle at the Nashville airport but never picked it up. The reservation normally drops off in this case. However, I got a receipt showing a charge of $49.09. The rental receipt shows that I picked up the vehicle on 12/13 at 1:45 AM (my flight landed at 12:50 PM), drove 101 miles, and returned the car on 12/14 at 3:13 AM (impossible, I was in Crossville, TN). None of which is true! I called customer service and they apologized and stated a refund would be issued. However, the more important concern is, how was someone allowed to leave the lot with a vehicle in my name?????? This is highly concerning and a huge liability. Someone, please explain what happened.Thanks,Melody Williams

1. Good car and decent price, but...2. Premier representatives seemed confused by and questioned my free UUGA037 upgrade from Full-sized to Premium, I had to explain it to them and convince them to give it. They also didn't seem to understand what "Premium" meant.3. I was overcharged and told I didn't return the car full of gas which was untrue. Eventually resolved but required a call to customer service.

I used Avis because of a great discount due to a professional membership. We specifically reserved a sports car to have something fun to drive because of a weekend birthday trip. There were none available when we got there and we could either choose a large SUV or a pickup truck. They apparently were slammed the night before. Disappointing but not their fault and the front desk associate was very apologetic. However, when I got the final bill, I was appalled. We had the car for 2 days and 1 hour. For the one additional hour, we were charged $61.50 compared to an $81.99 daily rate which is asinine. We were also charged a full day worth of the loss damage waiver despite again only having the car one additional hour past the 2 days and the front desk associate quoting us a price based on 2 days. I would not recommend or rent with them again.

Very pleasant customer service. Great vehicle for the price. I was able to use my military discount, pay in advance, and pick between 3 different vehicles. We arrived 2 hours late due to flight delay, so I'm glad we were able to pay ahead of time. Very happy with our experience with the Toyota Rav 4.

Hidden fees and deposit requirements that you don’t hear about until you pick up your car. Hidden fees tacked on after you drop off your car. So many fees! My rental was advertised to me at $272, which I gladly paid. Ended up paying well over $400 after period fees and breathing the same air as the agent fees + a $250 “deposit” for the duration of my rental period that I won’t see again for 1-3 business days.

Avis's fuel service is based on returning the vehicle with a "full tank". I did just that, but Avis uses a system to measure a full tank that is unavailable to the consumer, and the customer has no way of knowing if the fuel level is at the same level as it was when it was rented. I returned a vehicle that the fuel gauge indicate it was over the full mark, yet I was charged $9.99 for a gallon of fuel. This is, in my mind, completely unethical.

Was told EV had enough charge to make destination. Battery ran out halfway there and car was missing charging receptacle compatible with charging station. Car was towed to destination and staff at HSV wanted to argue and not help me. Saying I needed to take up issues with place where I rented the vehicle BNA. Total disaster of a company.

There was not a car available for pick up, I was given a dodge charger, NOT a kia sol. I was given the option of an electric car or pick up truck. I could not control the car, much too powerful for me. I drove it until it got dark, and I thought it best not to continue on to my destination, I had driven approximately 1 hour and then called to swap cars. I was told I could swap it at a closer location the next day. No cars were available the next day in the class I reserved which caused me to drive back to the airport in what I felt was an unsafe condition. When I returned the car to swap I was given incorrect information as to where to proceed to complete the process. Once again a comparable car was not available and I was forced to take a mini van. I not only wasted several hours of my few vacation days, I had to drive a vehicle I did not want or feel comfortable driving over 4 hours to the location for the return. The mini van had over 64,000 miles, windshield could not be cleaned ( I tried myself) lots of small dents and one part of back fender falling off. I expected so much more from Avis! What is the point of a reservation if it can't be filled with something comparable in the same class of car?
