Very knowledgeable and a people person, Ferg will be my go to for any amp repairs, he also makes amps and custom pedals at request. His dog Bizkit is the sweetest thing and very well mannered. Ferg is practically family to me at this point and I've only known him for 2-3 weeks! Over 50 years of experience this guy!

Had a great experience with Ferg. He had my deluxe reverb fixed up and rewired on a quick turnaround when my previous tech did not have the required parts. Furthermore, he was a super nice guy who gave me a tour of his shop and helped me troubleshoot my Mesa that I did not bring- some amazing vintage amps in his collection that he uses to help model sound on his own custom, hand made amps the Ferg Tweed Zluxe and champ in the fender 50s tweed style as well as some modified Marshall and Vox style designs. Check him out for amp repair or a Marshall/Vox/tweed custom build!

About a year ago I took a 60’s amp to be repaired by Ferg, he called me back about a week later and had it ready to go, it seemed to work fine, and I took it and used it. He charged for a new power cable, all new caps, and new tubes, it was approximately $250.After about a month or two I dropped the amp down some stairs due to the handle breaking (not his fault, although I wish he would’ve offered to replace the handle.) but the amp worked that night but stopped working the next day. The amp sat for the next couple months cause I didn’t have any money to pay for another repair, and was very busy and I didn’t have the chance to look at it.About two weeks ago I took the amp to someone else because Ferg’s phone was disconnected. When he called me after looking at the amp, he said it needed all new caps and tubes, and that all the ones on the amp were original (those things need to be changed around every 20 years), to which I replied that doesn’t make any sense I paid for that to be done last year, he told me basically one connection on the amp was bridged to make the amp work but those things were never properly replaced. I called Ferg to confront him this morning and he claims he would “never do something like that” and that “he always gives the parts he take out back to you” but he absolutely did not give any parts back to me. The guy at the new place did and I can see that these parts are very clearly not modern components and are most likely the ones that came in the amp.So essentially he either put old components in my amp or just did the absolute bare minimum so when he handed it back to me it would work for a while.Either way don’t go to this guy. Literally call any other amp guy in town and ask about Ferg, I bet they’ll have a story.

Oh hands-down best place in town for all amp repairs and I've been to all of them. 2-3 day turnaround . All the other places charge a rush fee. If you're a real musician and you want a guy who's exceptional and has been doing Amp repairs and builds for 50 years and cares about your gear this is the place to come.

I've had to file a police report to try to get my gear back. I dropped off an old amp and a tape delay back in July, and I paid a $160 bench fee. He told me he would have it ready in a couple days. After three months of chasing him, and him telling me my gear will be \

I brought in my tube amp because it was being incredibly noisy. I was told I would hear back from him in a couple of days and 3 weeks later, he told me that he was charging me $300 to replace all the power and preamp tubes (all without informing me beforehand). I took the amp back and within a day of plugging it back in, I was getting an intermittent static noise that was very obvious. He said to bring it back in and he would look at it. I did and after leaving it with him for 2.5 weeks, he said that the problem was with the brand new preamp tubes and that they needed to be replaced. I thought this was odd, but said go ahead. He replaced them and returned it after having it almost 3 weeks. I got the amp back and it was making the same noise. He said to bring it back in, so I did (reluctantly). I showed him the specific noise that was happening that somehow he missed. This time he kept it for another 2-3 weeks and actually did fix the issue after a third time. BUT, when I got it back and used it in a recording environment, I noticed a new buzzing/grounding noise that wasn’t there before. I contacted him for a FOURTH repair and he backed out of meeting me, because of his car, then his dental procedure and lastly, his being “ill”. He assured me he would be in touch, but I never heard back from him. I ended up taking it to a new (and very reputable) amp shop who said they could fix the problem. After this, I asked if he would simply refund the amount they charged for their bench fee snd we would go our own was without issue. He refused so this is why I’m writing my very first ever Yelp review warning people to AVOID THIS SHOP. There are too many other fantastic amp repair shops in Nashville you can take your amp to who will do quality work, have it done throughly and with a reasonable turn around time (all without excuses and repeated delays). Read some of the other reviews on here and you will see this is a common thing with his shop. If you do take the chance and bring your amp In here and it actually gets repaired correctly, consider yourself VERY lucky! Beware!

Asked for an update on my repairs. His first reply: sell me your pedals. Second reply: is your update. Picked them up unrepaired. When I arrived he told me the pedals are junk. Got home and found 1 screw on Kustom PA amp, 4 missing and wrong screws on both 1977 Electro-Harmonix Flanger and 1977 Memory Man, they are fine thread sheet metal screws, MM boost switch gone. In his text he replied it came in like that. The pickups for my 1947 Kay Archtop, who knows? One needed a 200vdc .5 mfd Capacitor, originally from a Chicago company. Bought the pedals in NYC in 1977 at the EH showroom. I made the mistake. I didn't sell my pedals. He's definitely one unique amp repairman. His old card states "Authorized Amp Repair," By whom? Archived our texts. Hanser in Cincinnati repaired my PA. Email from the Engineer informed me that Fug's first repair, dropped off 8/6/10 and picked up 12/28/10 was botched. Unless he intentionally destroyed it in 2021.I'll never know.Don't give a hoot or a holler neither.Bizkit his dog is a sweetheart.hi.Wow! 10 views. 15,990 times less than one of my songs has been played in 56 countries since August 2020. But not in the US. ASCAP directs. I hope Ferg never reads this. Because he knows my real name. And he never asked too see my Passport.Did you know Van Morrison rents fromSIR when he flies his band to Nashville? And Montreaux? George Jones gave me a CD in 2007 after his show the Ryman Auditorium. And after the News Years Eve show Garrison Keillor offered me birthday cake. I was working I wasn't even allowed in his Dressing Room. So he regifted a $50 Loveless Cafe box and personally signed it. Personal Tour Guide for John Lodge. Jeff Tweedy. Charlie Pride always said hello and shook my hand. Trace Adkins ignored me. Onkadonkbefunkadrunk. Now that's Pure Country.

Ferg did a pretty decent job, we were a little hesitant at first because of the bad reviews and what his store looks like but all in all he fixed our amp and was pretty good on guitar himself. Not ferg not bad.

As a professional musician, I am a frequent visitor of amp shops in my hometown of Nashivlle. Nothing but great things to say about this place. Needed a last minute fix for an obscure amp, Ferg was able to dig up some spare rarities and fix it up same day at a super affordable rate. Amazing customer service, top notch work, at an unbeatable turnaround. This guy really cares about his craft and is always putting the needs of the customer first. Wouldn't go anywhere else! Thanks Ferg!

It's complicated. Ferg does amazing, top-level work and knows his onions. He's not cheap but not unfair. He's a very nice guy. Took in two amps. He figured out the one amp pretty quickly and repaired it as good as new. On the other, I had a repair misadventure with him that translated into him having the amp for over six weeks. It was painful and unpleasant and I would not ever want to repeat that misery. Promise dates came and went, many excuses for not completing the work (even though I'd paid for the needed part weeks prior). I had to threaten to pick up the amp to get him to complete the job. Unreal. I shouldn't have to wonder "Am I gonna need to sue this guy to get out of this deal?" I lost a lot of sleep while Ferg had my amp. I get the feeling he used to run a good business. That was not my experience in the slightest. It was amateurish beyond belief.

Slow and always has excuses about why your amp aint ready. Hopefully he will finish my 2 car stereo amps soon. I really like his pup (dog). Very well behaved.
