“Nothing fancy here but if your looking for a yummy cheap homecooked meal or you are in the area and in need of gas or convince store items this place is just right. I visit occasionally when I am in the area. Last I was there they were putting in new gas tank, pumps and awning. Great biscuits and gravy!”

“Good produce, good meat, clean store, clean bathrooms, good parking with plenty of handicapped spots as well, decent prices with a food city value card. I would definitely recommend making sure that you use the value card for food city every single time you shop. Not only does it give you points to build up for gas visits in order to give you discounts on gas but the other day I rang up my bf and I entire order and it was like 30 more dollars than what I had originally added up and estimated in my head while shopping so I knew something was off or wrong and the store attendant brought it toy attention that I hadn't yet scanned any value card so to go ahead and do that and see how far it takes the prices down afterwards and then we will go from there...I scanned it and it literally took 30 dollars off my grocery bill. I couldn't believe it. I don't know if food city marks their prices up a bit here and there so they can then look as though they are giving us huge discounts or marking things down but either way I was glad that the bill went down 30 bucks! In short, don't forget to scan that value card and then later on use your value card to get gas visits! It's worth it in comparison to other stores around Newport.”
“This is by far the Cleanest, most organized, and well proportioned DG I've ever visited(and I visit it @ least once a week if not more. I am a tiny bit partial to this particular store b/c, it's less than 10mi from my home and all of our lil towns citizens had been waiting for this to be built & opened for so long! It truly is a God Send to not have to drive the 20mi to Newport!”

“We were greeted and waited on as soon as we arrived. The girl waiting on us was so nice,she made my wife a turkey and cheese and made me an Italian sub. We recently moved to Newport & as always, when you move into a new place, there’s going to be something you need. So trying to make my trip quick, I run to this DG. I’ve been in many different DG stores before & have even had issues just like everyone else with long lines, unfriendly cashiers, nasty stores, isles so full you couldn’t even get down the isles & no stocked shelves. I assumed this trip would be worse because it looks like a hole in the wall store. Shame on me for assuming! This was the absolute cleanest, best stocked DG Ive ever been in. I couldn’t believe how nice it was. And the cashiers name was Vanessa. She was so sweet & helpful. I got everything I needed & will definitely be going back to that store. I hope when the good stores & employees are praised, they receive acknowledgement from the upper management. This store is no doubt few & far between.”
“This is a small convenience store with a few gas pumps, and gas will be a bit more than going to the bigger gas stations “ up the road “. The selection of groceries is very limited and feel that there should be more items and there is room to have more groceries and staple items. There is a little restaurant type area and everything we’ve ever ordered has been very tasty and would recommend the food. The service is ok, not overly friendly but not rude or anything like that. The place is fairly clean and tidy and do go there if I need something and I know they stock that item.”

“Tiffany and Lisa were extremely helpful and helped us apply a church tax exemption for several buggies of toys we were purchasing for a Christmas toy drive. These two ladies went above and beyond and helped a lot more than the two other Dollar Generals we had purchased from. The other two stores had told us we had to go through corporate to use the exemption.”

“This was a nice city park! It is the place the kids go to play pewee football and baseball. Cheerleaders practice here. WE were there for none of that. They have a nice walking track that we utilized. They also had a disc gold course. Both of these attractions topped a lot of other larger city parks that we had been too. This park is a good one. Give it a try if you are in the area.”

“This is the only store that i can find the shoestring potato chips that we used to get in a small can. They have them, but they are in blue bags for $1.00 each. And I love the $5.00 off coupon that's on your receipt, to go back on the next Saturday and use it. Saves us some money & is a great place to shop from. 5 stars!!”
