“There was a mistake made by the Tn Dept of Revenue and my father’s entire social security benefit was garnished on this Christmas Eve December 24th,2024. Imagine what most people what have done or have acted if their hard earned money was taken from them without warning on Christmas Eve and day for that matter. He never complained about it, he is a retired Veteran serving 26 1/2 years in the Air Force. He just wanted to understand why this happened and who took his Social Security without his consent. We went into the Portland branch and explained what happened to Tahra Burgett the branch manager. She showed us the paperwork where the State sent the paperwork for the garnishment and said she would check into it and call us back once she figured out what and why it happened. We left the bank and within 15 minutes she called us back and told my father that she had resolved the matter and put his social security money back into his account. We want to personally thank Tahra for her quick response and putting his Social Security money back into his account. She went above and beyond to make sure my fathers money was returned to him. He has banked with Volunteer state bank since 1984 and this has never happened. Without her caring and quick response this would have never been resolved. Thank you again for your help and anyone who banks with Volunteer State bank should know what type of person she is and that will fight for her customers rights. She and her bank deserve 10 stars.”
