“As good as it gets I assume, because really "it doesn't change much" but none of the (Tennessee/DG-Stores) of a late, have fully stocked shelves "thats either day of the week I visit.Anyway, I'm getting used to the Shortages, and simply because there's to many Dollar General Stores "and not enough (Trucks/Stock ) to maintain themselves, saying "Out Growing Your Means"...I truly appreciate our DG-STORES though, but I'm watching closely. I'm waiting to see if the company knows how to fix it's sudden charge to the top or not ?There's only so much, then it's all gone.Maybe "they really love Pie, to the point of blindness.We will see soon enough I'm afraid...”
“Very nice employee, very patient and understanding. I had just stopped to get dog food but as always, I couldn't help but to get more than what I had stopped for. So once she had rung up all my items my total came out to $103.45 which is normal for me to spend so I always make sure I have at least $120.00 or more on me when I plan on shopping at Dollar General, well this time before I entered the store 1 of my sons had gotten some money from me and I had forgotten about it while shopping so needless to say I was short when it came time to pay, so I ask the young lady employee if she could take a few items off and place them on hold for me and I would go ahead and pay for the remaining items.She was so sweet and nice about it all and agreed to do so. I told her I have to run home get some more money and I would be back in about 30 to 45minutes to pay for and get the other items she said she would keep it right there behind the counter for me and to take my time that she would keep it for me. I live 1 county away and yes I passed 3 more Dollar General stores before I got home the 3rd store is less than 2 minute walk from my front door, but I gave my word I would come back and purchase the remaining items from her if she would hold them there for me and she kept her word and I kept my word and purchase the items from her Dollar General store and to me the patience, understanding and kindness she showed me was worth driving all the way back for and I will keep coming back to this Dollar General store because this young lady employee is a person of her word and very patient, sweet and understanding. Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
