U-Haul Moving & Storage of Abilene is a locally family-operated location and a hub for the surrounding area. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and on point, with management noted for being amazing and lifesaving in their assistance. This location has everything for a move, including truck rentals, trailers, cargo vans, and all the boxes you need. The vehicles are well-maintained and in good shape with expected minor wear and tear. The pick-up and drop-off process is efficient, with clear and reasonable contract details. The U-Haul app also allows for quick self service. However, as a regional hub, it can be very busy, especially in summer or around the first of the month. Reservations can sometimes face snafus, such as being inadvertently double-booked or having limited availability, so it is highly recommended to plan accordingly and reserve well in advance. Staff works hard to find solutions, like locating incoming trucks or including extra miles for inconvenience, even if it sometimes requires pickup from another location. Overall, this location is the best place to go and would definitely be recommended.
