Santana's Mexican Restaurant is a great Tex-Mex hole in the wall in Alpine, Texas, often the only late night choice. It is a very awesome establishment with amazing, friendly, and down to earth people. The food is unbelievably delicious, surprisingly delicious, well prepared, and always fresh. They offer legit street tacos, putting effort and care into what they prepare. Popular items include the Birria, tacos, ramen, enchiladas, and quesadillas. Don't forget to add the Agua Fresca. It is basically a food stand with only a few outdoor tables and chairs for dining. There isn't any table service; you order at the door or window, and they only take a few orders at a time. All meals are served in to-go containers with included condiments and silverware. Expect a wait, which can be long, and they don’t always open on time, but it is very much worth it. The wait is often short, but if it is a little high, it is well worth the wait and price. It is a slightly pricey food stand, but you get your money's worth. Parking is only available on the side street, and you might have to walk a block. If it is your first time in Alpine, it is highly recommended.
Unbelievably delicious Birria we've ever had! Have no doubt...order the ramen, tacos, and the enchiladas....they were amazing. Truly a delight after a long drive back from Big Bend. Don't forget to add the Agua Fresca!

Our tacos were great, slow to receive them but maybe they were under staff. Worth the wait.

Great Mexican food in a hole in the wall. More like a take away place with limited seating in front.
