The Spur Hotel is a comfortable and quaint hotel in Archer City, Texas, offering excellent value. It is a piece of the iconic history of the town, the home of celebrated author Larry McMurtry, and provides a slice of Texan hospitality. The atmosphere is incredibly special, with excellent western decor. The staff are very accommodating, warm, and delightful, treating guests like family. The hotel has every convenience needed, featuring clean rooms, a comfortable bed, and a hot shower. Guests can enjoy the library/lounge and front porch to enjoy the Archer City pace of life. It is a truly local gem and a very quiet place, though noise in the hallway can sometimes be heard. This little town has a lot of significance in the art, film, and literary world. A visit to the Spur Hotel is worth it for that reason alone, feeling more like visiting family than staying at a hotel. It far exceeds expectations, and guests will be glad they stayed.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Spur on a whim during a cross country road trip. What an incredibly special place. A slice of home and Texan hospitality. Dotty the owner was so warm and accommodating and really treated us like family. A truly local gem.
