Statement Regarding Incident at 7-Eleven Store – June 20, 2025
On June 20, 2025, at approximately 8:05 PM, I entered the 7-Eleven store located on Cameron Road off Highway 290. I went in to purchase $30 worth of gas, a bag of Funyuns, and a Big Red soda. At the counter, I handed the cashier—who was wearing a blue turban—two $20 bills to pay for my purchase.
To be clear, I did not have any $10 bills on me at the time. Earlier that day, I had withdrawn $5,000 from my bank in preparation to pay my nephew’s lawyer, and the funds were given to me in denominations of $100s and $20s.
I informed the cashier I wanted $30 worth of gas and waited for my change. Instead of returning the expected $10, the cashier insisted I had only given him $30. He attempted to support his claim by reviewing the security footage. However, the video only showed me placing two bills on the counter—it did not show the denominations clearly.
Another customer in line confirmed that the video did not clarify whether the bills were $20s or otherwise. Despite this, the cashier accused me of lying. A woman—possibly a manager—then came from the back of the store and sided with him without reviewing the situation thoroughly. I felt demeaned, disrespected, and humiliated.
Even after I left the store, I was told that the cashier continued to watch the footage while making derogatory comments about me. The entire experience felt not only like poor customer service but also discriminatory and racially biased.
This incident is no longer about the $10—it is about how I was treated. I believe I was unfairly targeted, disrespected, and discriminated against, and I am now seeking legal counsel to explore my options, including filing a formal complaint and potential lawsuit for discrimina

I got gas here. I went and waited to use the one restroom at this facility. An employee was cleaning the restroom and saw me waiting. He finished, then locked the restroom for the rest of the evening. Didn’t even look at me when I asked him if I could use it.

The restroom was filthy. When I told the employee on duty he just shrugged. Things are very high priced as well.

45 minutes of my life I will never get back. Gas took forever to pump. By the time I realized how long I had been there, I felt like I should just finish instead of going somewhere else. Also the pump does not shut down when your tank is full so it spills everywhere.

The way they treat the same people is ridiculous and unfair yes I might be visually impaired and I can see a little bit but I still need help reading small print and I'm still trying to get in contact with the supervisor because the younger teenager was understanding and helpful the older gentleman who's older than him like in his 30s maybe 40s is pitiful and should be reprimented I know you should supposed to respect your elders but it seems like he needs to learn to respect his younger ones because his younger employee had more sense to help someone for disability
