Austin Auction Gallery is by far the best auction house in Texas! They get the most amazing stuff and have unbelievable auctions on a regular basis. They have had so many incredible European auctions over the years that I used to fear France would run out of antique furniture! That said, I continue to be blown away the minute a walk through their doors! If you are looking to buy fine goods at the best prices for your home or business I highly recommend Austin Auction Gallery. Ask for Roland. He is highly knowledgeable and extremely helpful!

5/2/24 - Thank you for the understanding that Live Auctioneers hide the bids from Austin Auction Gallery and therefore bidding on that site, and perhaps other platforms are useless. Perhaps you should add that information to your website so unsuspecting bidders, such as myself, will not waste their time on these useless platforms you "advertise" on. I now have a complete understanding of how my bid, given 8 hours before the auction opened, lost. And the winning bid, which was the same amount I bid, given at the time of the actual auction from the floor won. Point being, only bid at the time of the actual auction, because Live Auctioneers hide the bids given on their platform...
5/1/24 - You said there is no conspiracy, what an odd statement. What I am simply trying to understand is why my bid of $500, placed 8 hours before the auction began, was not accepted as valid based on the fact that a bidder "on the floor" won the bid at $500, again after I bid $500 on the Live Auctioneers platform. And what I am able to ascertain is that your business is not set up well enough to recognize the bids placed on the other platforms you "advertise" on. And what you have explained, is that they hide the bids from you during the auction. That sounds odd also. I would suggest simply that your in house technology is not up to speed to coordinate with these other platforms during the bidding at the time of the live auction.
4/23/24 - On a prior explanation from your company you said that the Auctioneer recognized a bidder at the auction who was "on the floor" who bid the same amount that I did. So the winning bidder DID NOT BID BEFORE ME, HOWEVER THEY DID BID THE SAME AMOUNT OF $500. AND YOU KNOW VERY WELL THAT THE OPENING BID WAS $500, SO A BID OF $475 WAS IMPOSSIBLE. AND NOW YOUR SAYING THAT LIVE AUCTIONEERS HIDE THE AMOUNTS THAT BIDDERS PLACE ON THEIR PLATFORM. If that is the case, then why would you participate on that platform? So again, Auction Auction Gallery simply chose who may be at the auction that day, and gave them the winning bid.
On 4/21/24, approximately 8 hours before bidding opened and 15 hours before the item came up for bid, I bid $500 and liveauctioneers recognized that as the high bidder and at that time the "winning bid". However, apparently someone else bid after me, either in person or on one of the other platforms Austin Auction Gallery uses. They bid the same amount $500, and they won the bid. Austin Auction Gallery does not recognize your platform as a contractual contract with the bidders. They simply choose who may be at the auction that day, and give them the winning bid.

This auction house is not a legitimate auction house in that they don't actually take consignments.I've reached out 3 times over the course of 6 months to consign valuable furniture in good condition and been told to reach out after the next auction. Needless to say, they apparently don't have space for consignments, or the process or intent to create that space in the future. If you need to consign your goods, look elsewhere.

What a pleasure dealing with Austin Auction Gallery and Victoria. This is my very first experience dealing with turning over my property (sterling silver flatware) for auction. And it was a pleasant one! Auction isn't until November but I'm looking forward to a very successful result. Thanks for your patience with this first timer Victoria!

UPDATE: Austin Auction Gallery LIES and refused the charge-back. They still allege the sword has a leather and wire wrapped handle, despite there being NO leather, cloth, or wire on any part of the sword.BUYER BEWARE. Austin Auction Gallery KNOWINGLY SELLS FAKES and LIES ABOUT IT...!!!Avoid this place like the plague. They listed a Civil War sword with leather and wire wrapped handle, and sold it as listed.I received the sword, and the handle is a one-piece brass-like material that is cheaply made. There is no wire or leather material anywhere on the sword. The sword is a fake.Ross, the alleged owner, stated that he must have made a mistake in the listing, but would only refund the purchase price after I returned the sword. I would not receive a refund for any shipping charges ($100 each way), and I purchased the item "as-is" despite the obvious fake sword and false item description. They will lie to you, take your money, and resell an obvious fake item. AVOID AUSTIN AUCTION GALLERY...!!!
