This was my thrift store stop on a recent trip to Austin. I picked this one because of their mission helping animals. I was initially confused by the pricing so asked staff for help. It turns out they have THREE types of pricing. Here's my interpretation....please correct if I got it wrong. 1. Fixed price -- everything in that category is one set price, colored tags have no bearing. 2. Assorted prices -- higher than fixed priced items, but they have two colored tags for discounts, potentially resulting in lower than fixed prices. 3. Vintage -- always priced higher than the rest. I did find inconsistencies in their segregating and pricing but I cut them slack and "tipped" because it all goes to the animals! Oh, parking is tight, so plan accordingly.

Lovely thrift store went to find some more shorts for this heat and we found cool and decently priced clothing. There's an upstairs too!

Great idea to generate revenue for austin pets alive. They have great donations here.I'd rather shop here than goodwill - that's for sure.

Upper management abuses their younger staff members, nothing but the most broken items are priced to sell, it is expensive used items throughout the store. Its a great cause however the treatment of staff and the high prices of their items is not worth the visit. Upper management is highly unprofessional and has very poor etiquette towards their staff, customers, and volunteers. You are better off donating money and/or volunteering directly with the animal shelters than paying for anything in their thrift stores.Do not waste your time, money, or energy giving them your business here.Very disappointed in this from a non profit with managers having boating sessions and staff working for barely above poverty wages.

We found this place on yelp and decided to stop by. First they have some pretty cool things. Everything is very well organized women's section is downstairs and men's is upstairs. What I loved the most is they had used and new pet section. They also had a book section. They donate to an animal foundation. I found some cute things here. Definitely a 5 and worth checking it out highly recommend.

Thrift stores in general are awesome places to go! A portion of This thrift store's proceeds go to helping animals in need so they're already starting off on a great foot! The pricing of some of the items was a little bit high for a thrift store but it's understandable. It was a very cute atmosphere, and easy to find what you're looking for!

Wish I could've supported this business with their cause being so good but was literally at the counter for solid five mins before someone even acknowledged I existed while they had full blown conversation about their hiking and blah blah... yeah, Take your money elsewhere. Also THERES NO PARKING.

This thrift store is amazing! Everything inside there is clean, reasonably priced, and organized. Staff is super helpful and kind. They have all kinds of deals and even a rewards program where you can get a 50% voucher if you earn enough points! Every dollar you earn there is a point so after 200$ spent, you earn the rewards. It’s easy to reach that since everything there is so cool and nice. On top of it all, your money spent goes to helping and supporting the dogs! What a wonderful organization.

I really wanted to like Austin Pets Alive because it's close to home and is a great cause. However, I've been in about 4 or 5 times now and am consistently disappointed. The store isn't very clean, especially the back room. I understand that their merchandise is dependent on donations and somewhat out of their control, but much of it is out of style and in poor condition. Parking is extremely limited and the traffic on Burnett makes it nearly impossible to get in and out of the lot, and unfortunately I've found it just isn't worth the trouble.
