Location is not far from downtown. The staff is fine. The rooms and the hotel overall are just old. Hotels downtown were full so I rolled the dice thinking that this place might be renovated since I was last here about 25 years ago. It was dated back then.I'm laying in the bed right now and I am sure these sheets and bedspread are at least 20 years old. They feel like sandpaper. I'm not kidding. They're rough and abrasive. Absolutely the worst sheets I have ever slept on.Completely unacceptable. And the furniture, the popcorn ceiling, the carpet. It all feels old, gross and used.Don't stay here if there is anything else available.

I made my reservation for the hotel via HotWire and was looking forward to an intimate short weekend getaway. After a long afternoon of traveling, we arrived at the hotel around 10pm, exhausted as can be and ready for some well deserved rest. We get to the front for check-in and one of the attendants greets us with "we are fully committed tonight." We are a bit confused as we have not received any form of communication regarding the hotel's capacity up until that point and ask for clarification which the attendant isn't able to provide. After going nowhere with the first attendant, we asked to speak with a manager who at the time had left the staff with this chaos of many angry customers without a resolution. We then talk to a second attendant wanting to know other options and we were told to go to a sister hotel nearby for the night and return in the morning to resolve the issue. We decide that this is a better option for the moment and inquire about hotel transportation to of course find out we were responsible for that. We are increasingly getting frustrated when we also find out that we now must pay the current rate of the sister hotel even though we didn't cause this major inconvenience. After patiently explaining the unfairness of the situation from all angles, the second attendant was able to make a call to the sister hotel and get the night covered for us. This was one of the worst check-in experiences at a hotel from the lack of professionalism, empathy and customer care. Please be advised for your next booking.

Update: I saw a processed (not pending or hold) charge on my card that was around the same amount as an incidental fee. Called back to ask what was wrong with my room that I would be charged. Was told that my incidental fee was released which I did see on my statement, and asked why I was charged a little over $50 if it was not an incidental fee. Apparently they cannot see this charge on their end and the most they can do is give me back an accidental $0.02 that they charged to my card.First review:All of my socks have become filthy after walking around my room. When I checked in, the room smelled musty, like someone had been exercising there moments before. After that wore off, it smelled of mildew.

This place is horrible. When they cleaned the room they only made one bed and didn't clean the room...didn't replace towels...had to order food downstairs at the bar and not from the room. Extremely outdated and ugly!!!! Never again!

Great hotel especially for the price. Not jammed up downtown, but only a short Uber ride away. Heath the bartender is great as well and makes a great Old Fashioned.

I'm sure the hotel is already aware that the rooms (especially the bathrooms) are outdated. But overall, it was a very nice stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable bed and nice staff in the lobby.I'm not sure if the little shop / coffee corner is part of the hotel, but they really need to reevaluate their prices, $8 for a mediocre double espresso is outrageous.

The room is dated but I think it's relatively close to downtown and priced right as a budget hotel.

The bar staff was amazing. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel does need to be upgraded. I was a little disappointed in the fact they didn’t have laundry facilities, but was told some upgrades to the hotel are coming soon. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

As a lifetime titanium member in Marriott program I have stayed in a lot of hotels. The Austin South Park is extremely outdated and dramatically understaffed. They are cutting corners everywhere you can imagine. Most hotels have coffee in the lobby, but there wasn’t any there and there wasn’t any by the restaurant. I guess they only sell coffee.I chose the points over the free breakfast which most hotels in the Marriott program offer both to elite member guests.I stayed in room 907 and the bed is worn out the bedding was well used. The furnishings in the room were straight from the 1980s. The shower was very old and even the soap and shampoo work cut rate along with the towels.I’m not sure how it received a four star rating but this hotel needs to be a Holiday Inn not a Marriott

Paid three-day Multifamily Mindset GP underwriter training and pressure to pay $40k for four weeks of intensive training.Loved the instructor's attitude for adding value to the tenants.I would not want to sell the apartments, though, but selling is the MM goal. So I didn't sign up.Despite that small conflict of interest, I recommend MM as a great opportunity for getting involved in multifamily real estate. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. Lots of parking.Noteworthy details: Good event rooms.

Very nice staff, affordable location when booked through my 3rd party app.My only complaints are the extremely course rough sheets, some flat pillows and 1 day no hot water. Sheets seem new in good condition but a very cheap quality. I have sensitivies in general due to my health, but even my husband commented several times he was uncomfortable with them too. We asked for a couple of the comforters to use as a topper to cover the sheets, the staff obliged to our requests promptly and all was good ?But I generally really like staying at this hotel. I'll try to remember to bring some extra linens to ease the discomfort next time.

Recent Marriott Bonvoy addition undergoing massive renovation project. Funky location between freeways.+good value AAA rate+Shay [evening Manager/Comptroller]this welcoming, friendly, plain spoken Texan is5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ & listened to my particular needs as a Titanium Elite guest and exceeded expectations by finding the ideal room, being honest about certain current challenges, and he’s easily the most high quality professional hotel employee I’ve dealt with on my business travels to Austin. Shay embodies the southern hospitality one hopes to encounter in this great State and he would make an excellent GM… someone offer this man a promotion as he certainly earned it.Rooms: Dated but being remodeled. Nice new giant tv. ?

Staff is fantastic! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. So much so that I’d call them the hotel’s saving grace.Celina at the bar helped me turn a not so great day around. Fantastic service.Rooms were pretty average. Just a regular degular hotel room. Nothing like a 4 seasons, Fairmont, or Omni.Great location took me 5 min to get here from the airport.
