Had a terrible experience from this Autozone they told me I needed and alternator so I purchased a refurbished one from them. Took it to a mechanic in the box, untouched by me or the mechanic I went to go see. He inspected my vehicle said my alternator was good and didn't need to be changed. So I went back to get my refund and a different staff member and the manager said I or someone had messed with the alternator. At least they gave me the refund. Will never come back here again.

Worst store ever. There is a shop assistant whose name's initials are EF (he wears a badge saying "I speak spanish") that keeps making fun and complaining about customers. He didn't know even what is a carburetor fuel line and didn't know which hose end would fit my needs (even though I gave him the carb model and a hose end from the store that would fit my carb - the hose end had the size written in it). While I was searching through my phone to discover which part number would fit my carb, he was grumbling to his coworker, making fun and complaining about me being "still looking for it". When asked why he was complaining, he said he was "actually talking about other costumer". Absolutely disrespectful. It is ok to not know the part I need, but at least should be respectful. It is absolutely unacceptable to a shop assistant to talk back to customers who are doing nothing wrong. If those guys cannot give a quick search to help us and always need a part number, just implement a self checkout system where all customers just put their part number and checkout. At least we would not need to deal with this type of person.

What terrible customer service by the management.

I don’t usually write negative reviews, but felt the need to say something. I went in this morning wanting to check the status of my car battery. They recommended a battery replacement.
Overall- it was a bad experience. The manager was very rude to me and talking to me in a condescending tone. I would not recommend. I’d give negative stars if I could. Go anywhere else.

I used a debit card that was used again by this location and had to cancel my card due to fraudulent charges. I went back to this exact same location to turn in my core, and was told sorry you just don’t get the money for your core. After me telling one of the employees I’m either getting my money back or I’m getting a store credit the manager came up. Everything was resolved except for the guy who was getting my money. He threw it on the counter. I hope you have fun cleaning up the displays I knocked over.

Came in about noonish on 7/29. I have a 2012 Honda CR-V.
Requested help with diagnostic for a check engine light. The employee behind counter was very friendly to me, at first. Outside, I opened the car and she looked under the steering column for wires to plug in their diagnostic machine. Tried for appx 5 mins. I asked if it was the same plug they use in inspections - she said yes. While I've had problems with previous inspections, I knew she would be able to find it under the steering column. I told her it was important, even looking myself on several occasions, she complimented my dress we talked about that while she tried to figure it out. Then she went in and asked her manager for help.
He came out and was immediately rude and defensive. The tone was DEFINITELY different. I get it - it's hot at noon in July in Austin. He had similar questions, I told him it was important that we figure this out - even helping when I could. After about 5 minutes, he found the plug and hooked up the diagnostic machine. I thought this would be the end to what was a bizarre, but mostly pleasant experience.
I asked if he could print results and he quickly responded THAT'S WHAT I'M ABOUT TO DO - again visibly upset. He walked inside. I closed my car door, and tried to roll the window up, but it wouldn't do anything. Tried to turn the car on, but it wouldn't roll over. Went inside to ask for help, now confused and desperate to get out of there. The immediate response was, "All I did was plug the machine in..." He suggested I would have to buy something for the window. I said, "I don't know what any of this means, but I had a car that drove in here and worked properly and now it wont turn over and the window won't roll up - could it be the battery?" I even pointed to the diagnostic print out that suggested I needed to replace my battery. The manager told me that I was not reading it correctly (of course, I was). The manager was pacing and walked into the back and pulled 2 other employees back with him before telling me couldn't help me and I needed to leave. The employee who had previously helped me approached me in a store full of customers and told me I was being aggressive. I felt attacked and, frankly, concerned for my safety because I was without a working vehicle (one that was working before I went in) and desperate for help. Because I didn't realize the person I had been working with was the manager -- after all, I would never have expected that kind of behavior from the manager -- I asked for the manager. He said he was the manager. I asked for his supervisor. He refused to give me a name and number - he said he was just on the phone with his manager and his manager told him to tell me that they couldn't help me. I asked them to help me replace the battery. The manager came out once again and COULD NOT FIND THE WAY TO OPEN THE HOOD TO MY VEHICLE. I handed him the manual, but found the lever myself. Once again - I have a 2012 Honda CR-V. Literally one of the most common vehicles in Austin, in Texas, in the US.
He popped the hood and had the other employee come jump the car. I left immediately and went to our neighborhood shop where I typically get my vehicle fixed. I paid him the $250 for the battery - not Autozone.

I went in here hoping to get my starter tested and the bald fat manager with goofy glasses helped me and just straight lied to my face and said the starter was bad , so I believed him and wasted 200$ when it turns out the starter was good and wasn’t the issue , DO NOT BELIEVE THIS GUY he’s just trying to make a sale and will screw over any customer

Came to Autozone with a dead battery and Curtis came out in the 100 degree weather with no complaints and had it replaced and working in 10 minutes. Immediately after helping us he jumped in to help the man next to us with his issue with a smile on his face. 10/10 would come back to this location.

Hands down, the best AutoZone experience that I have ever had! Shelves were stocked, tidy. Adequately staffed to handle customer load. Staff were friendly & knowledgeable.
Maybe the hell-hole of an AutoZone near where I live has set the bar very low, but I was so impressed I will only be going to this store from now on!

CHRIS!!! At the Capital Plaza location!! I am so thoroughly impressed! Not only did he try his best to help over the phone, but when I walked in and started TRYING to get service...(first employee just looked at me and looked at the other employee standing next to him and continued talking about personal things....The second employee just walked away...The 3rd employee reluctantly meandered over to me and was clearly disinterested in anything I had to say...) Chris heard my voice and came to the front to assist me in person!!!! WOW!! What follow through! I rarely shop at Auto Zone because no one seems interested in their job. I even had no answers when I called other locations and at the Manor location a female employee hung up on me 3 times!!! After the 3rd hang up it was clear she was too bothered to even talk to a customer. Anyway back to Chris AT CAPITAL PLAZA!!! He gave me the right alternator the first time and even came back up to talk to me when I returned the old one asking if all went well. I am ONLY going to that Auto Zone and asking for Chris each time!!! Thank you Chris and much luck to you.
Signed... Your favorite customer?
