Owner was constantly yelling at the employees when we were there on vacation. One of the employees kept apologizing for the owners behavior even though the owner kept belittling the employees. The “vintage” items are over priced if they weren’t broken/damaged. You can honestly find better at Goodwill. (My friend got kicked out for videoing so took some screenshots off the video to post.) We tried the sandwiches which were overpriced and they didn’t really have anything in stock. The sandwiches were not worth the “hype” of this place. Honestly, you can make a better sandwich at home.

Amazing atmosphere and sandwiches from the owner. The Italian sub was one of the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 recommend!

Business hours here don’t match their actual hours. Closed sign just hangs there.

Permanently closed? 🤷♂️
Been here 5 times during posted open business hours over the past 12 months... Never open even once.
We tried to give it our final chance earlier today (Saturday at lunchtime, hours online show open). Called ahead to make sure they were open. No answer. We went anyway, knowing it would likely be closed as always. Yep, closed. Number five was the last time for us.
Looks like a cool place and we have been excited for over a year to support a small local business. But I cannot recommend going because it’s always closed. Absolute waste of time.
Also- after reading the other reviews… no chance I’d ever give this guy a cent. Apparently he physically kicked a customer and they’re pressing charges.

It was closed and had a car parked right to the front door .. I guess to discourage robberies, kinda shady part of town. So it was impossible to get a good pic of store. Some guy came to window. Acted annoyed that we were there. I wouldn’t go back when it is open now at all. He was very rude and hollered something at us through the glass that I couldn’t make out. Maybe the locals have better luck than someone stopping to see this place. From the bad reviews I see here, I doubt it. Skip it.

Normally I wouldn’t post this for a small business but this owner is unbelievably rude… Condescending to his young staff and customers alike. Came in to order some sandwiches to go and was kicked out for holding an iced coffee… not that there are signs that say that’s a problem. Didn’t actually tell us directly it was a problem either, just muttered to himself about his antique counters (no one was touching lol) then showed us to the door instead of taking our orders. Came here one other time about 6 months ago and he was berating a new employee so we knew something was off about him. Everyone has bad days so we figured give him one more chance, nope it’s just him! Oh and it’s not like he sells coffee anyways! So weird.

Have been dying to come here, have driven up from south austin 5 separate times when Google claims it's open only to find it closed with no sign of life. I'm not even mad, at this point I'm impressed. Just wish they'd utilize social or Google updates, or list accurate hours on their Google listing. As of today, the website says "no guarantees of stock or hours, open when the "V" for victory is lit. That's awesome, unless your customers are trying to plan and go out of the way to visit ??. I totally get the flexible hours, but at least put something out online when you're open or closed. Last Instagram post is from 2019, no Facebook, no Twitter.

This is the place to go for sandwiches and atmosphere. Ross is the nicest guy and his store is a part of history, both in my life and the city of Austin. Food trucks are over rated, a dime a dozen. Stop on by for great food and conversation. Thank you Ross, for everything!

Amazing looking place, an experience of classic Austin on a quiet street under shady trees. Loved the Queen B veggie & cheese sandwich. Looking forward to going again soon.

Great spot for sandwiches! Everything tastes fresh and Ross, the owner, is a delight. Feels like a slice of old Austin!

Super cute vintage sandwich shop located in Hyde park. They have a very nice patio outside with picnic tables. It was closed when I got there but I will definitely be back to get a sandwich at the super cute vintage sandwich shop.

I've come here 3 times in one year bc it looks cute but each time ive come they are closed. seems like a hobby business instead of a real business. if you're going to just close whenever you want, sell the business you obviously don't need it. won't waste my time coming back.
