Worst Avis experience for the 3rd time.
Staff doesn’t care and doesn’t want to give any answers including which car they are assigning you.
If you ask if you want to change the car after you see the surprise when you reach your spot, their answer is to come back and start the process again.
Worst customer service and experience.

They don’t have a direct phone line which sucks if you’re just trying to get a simple answer , the machine answers from who knows where and you gotta jump thru hoops just to finally get directed to the specific location which is Austin Tx . Just horrible customer service support

*they given me an EV car with is only 102 mile range for a week rental in Austin.
*I m a prefer avis member and the rent expects unlimit mileage.
*When I talked to agents, They told me this is the Only Car they had?
* I have a confirmed#;and my prefer is big car by đefault.
* Avis should say their People well so they serve customer better.
*looking else where for next Rental
*Bad experiences.

This was my second time renting an electric vehicle from Avis in Austin, and unfortunately, both experiences were terrible. This time I rented a Tesla that was completely beat up, and the AC had a horrible smell—unacceptable in the Texas heat in July.
Because I was on a tight schedule, I didn’t have time to return it, but I shouldn’t have had to in the first place. Vehicles should be inspected and maintained daily or at least weekly, especially electric cars. In the middle of summer in Texas, a working, odor-free AC isn’t optional—it’s essential.
Avis needs to improve their maintenance standards at this location. Customers deserve clean, functional cars—not repeated bad experiences.

Once I got there to pick a rental car, They were behaving rude. Now, they deserve one star.

I was trying to track down a lost item. The phone system has an option for that. But when you select it, the system hangs up on you. Rude. Then I tried other options and was shunted to a national office. I asked the woman if I could get connected to the airport counter and she refused. Then she hung up on me. So flippin rude.
They have a local number but apparently no way whatsoever to reach the local desk. Horrendous customer service.

Gave flight info and got here downstairs 2 minutes before close because of my flight delay. No one was here so I went upstairs right at close and again no one. Others came in after me confused at well. Disappointed in this location for not checking the flight delays after I provided my flight number and waiting for exact close. Hertz end up being open still so I’m thankful today for them.

I booked a prepaid car rental and arrived at 11:35 pm. I am an Avis preferred president level, rented at this location regularly , and tonight was not provided a car and manager refuse to rent to me because I have an existing rental in Hawaii. I have rent cars both in Hawaii and Austin at the same time before for the past 5 years. Only tonight when Avis doesn’t have enough cars they refuse to rent to me. Instead of notifying me before I arrive, they chose to tell me at 11:30 pm and offer ZERO help. They can’t even issue me a refund and ask that I call customer service.
Keep in mind that I rented at least 15 times a year at Austin Avis airport location. And Avis as a whole about 80 days a year. I travel a lot for my work and to be left high and dry at 11:30pm is terrible.
Manager didn’t care and his tone and behavior shows it. The least he can do is to help me locate another rental with another agency; instead he chat with his staff about drinks after work while I struggle on my own to figure how on refunds and transportation.
Deeply frustrated and left wondering why is this guy still employed at Avis? He is a poor example of Avis should be doing to their customers.

Arriving after a long flight we made to the Avis office where a young staff member called Rico gave us an exceptional level of service giving us sage advice on vehicles, switching a car for us and literally running about to ensure he delivered for us as his customer and his company. Genuinely the sort of service where I'd prioritise booking with the company again out of gratitude for his efforts.

Terrible customer service I rented a car that smelled of weed/cigarettes, and I was told to get the car detailed and a receipt for reimbursement. I was hung up on 5 times and then given a fake customer support number. Would not recommend

Very disappointed with Avis at Austin Airport.
I called several days ahead to confirm that someone would be there when our 1am flight arrived. I was told Avis guarantees staff will remain until all customers with flight info on their reservation have picked up their cars. But when we arrived at 1:10am, there was no one at the counter — and two other people were already waiting. We had to take an Uber and spend $70 out of pocket. Completely unacceptable and not what was promised.

The lady at the front counter was so helpful and gave me service with a smile. It's hard to come by employees who seem happy during a transaction, but it's so contagious. I give out 5 star reviews very sparingly - especially for airport facilities. What a pleasant surprise. Good one Avis! Keep it up.

Rented a van for a family trip to Orlando. Was charges 450 cleaning fee for the van not being vacummed. No stains, pet hair or damaged. The floor was not vacummed.
