Bartholomew District Park is a family-friendly destination that offers a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy walking trails, open fields, playgrounds, and a popular splash pad that kids love. The park has a roller derby track, making it a fun spot for families to practice skating. Many people appreciate the natural setting and the chance to create lasting memories with their children. There is adequate parking, and the park provides a peaceful environment for exercise and relaxation. However, some reviews mention concerns about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of unhoused individuals, highlighting the importance of kindness and understanding. Overall, Bartholomew District Park is a cherished community space that continues to improve and attract families.
Another smaller park I frequent. A lot of nature to enjoy, some unhoused folx, but please remember, they didn't get there willingly, most of em at least. Instead of giving them a hard time, help them. You'd be surprised who they were, are, and can be. Nearly anyone of us can become unhoused these days. Be kind.

Took my kids to the roller derby track to practice with their new rollerblades. I was worried they would be bored, but when we had to leave after an hour, they asked when we could come back. The only thing necessary to make it five star would be some shade and better bathrooms.
