About 6 months ago my regular mechanic wasnt able to do a pinion seal replacement for a ford ranger. I searched around my location for an established good reputation mechanic to do the work. I liked the reviews i found for Ben White automotive and i used them for this service. I received prompt service and great customer service on cashout! I will use them again for sure! ??

This shop is great to work with. They update you on progress, track everything they're doing with pictures and videos that are shared with you, and at a reasonable price. Will absolutely return when I need to.

Brought in my wife's Fiat 500 as it had a decent oil leak. Was greeted by Austin at the front desk and met Scott who did a thorough inspection of the car. Turned out that the vacuum pump gasket failed and was leaking oil. Hoses were saturated with oil so Scott recommended to replace them too as they were swollen up and ready to pop. Scott did a great job cleaning up the engine and replaced the vacuum pump, gasket, hoses, and coolant. Thanks for the communication throughout the repair and for the speedy service. Wouldn't hesitate to bring back the Fiat for future work.Services: General repairs & maintenance

Our 2012 Cadillac CTS needed the rack and pinion and power steering pump replaced. Ben White Automotive did a great job on the repairs. They also replaced the alternator and battery. I highly recommend them.Services: Auto battery replacement

This mechanic shop is amazing. Randy always makes me feel comfortable in knowing my car will run well. I like the team and they do amazing work. My car is a diesel so it’s always hard to find a good mechanic that can work on a diesel car.Service: Air & cabin filter replacement

Alright. So when I first walked in, they were comping a woman $800 because she was unhappy. Bad first sign. I should've walked out. I had an appt, and thought that meant I'd have time to describe my problem. Instead, the man shushed me and pushed a paper at me as I tried to speak to him. I wrote down there was a roaring sound, and there was also a squeak up front in the wheel. This is two problems. They did not let me talk to them, did not ask where the sound was, basically took my keys and pushed me out. When I got my car back after $1600 of work on hubs and bearings, BOTH the big problem and the little squeaky problem were STILL THERE. They told me they heard no roaring sound, absolutely nothing. But to come back next week and they'd look again. So I do. The guy gets in the car with me for a test drive, and he tells me "Oh, I think it's the hubs/bearings". I told him that was funny, since that's what they'd worked on the week before. He said, "Oh..... I just got hired on Monday, I didn't know that." Then tried to tell me it was the back hubs and bearings! I was fully aware this was a SCAM by that point! They tell you the expensive fake problem, then later find the real problem. The entire time they told me, "We do not and never did hear a roaring sound."My back axle was bent. Badly. It was loud and obvious. They then loosened the wheel so it was visibly wobbling and tried to tell me "See, now we found the problem." They kept my lug nut because they couldn't get it back on. Still have it. The hubs and bearings NOW are acting funny, that "I'm turning on ice on a dry road feeling", so they seem to have messed it up. I took my car and got the axle fixed at the dealer, because I do not want these guys touching my car ever again. And when I asked, "Why did I pay you to fix a nonexistent problem?" they said, "Well you put it in writing!" Really? The roaring sound? Because they told me it didn't exist multiple times. I might've said this place was incompetent, but the new guy getting in my car and out of hand suggesting the exact expensive incorrect problem again, (while also saying he didn't hear the real one) tells me this is likely a very deliberate scam. And I doubt I'm the only one they do this to.

This is the most competent and fair place I’ve ever taken my car to. My first time with them, they were able to diagnose and fix an issue the dealership couldn’t solve and charged me an insane amount for - and they did it for a very fair price. Today I came in to get my blinker bulb replaced and they did it for me for free! You definitely won’t overpay when you come here, and they’ll treat you well. Highly recommend!Services: Electrical repair

Seriously the best place to go in Austin. My engine went out and they really took care of me with a lot of nice extras for it taking time to fix. They worked with my warranty company to get everything completely covered. Thank you Randy for being so awesome. Definitely go here if you’re looking for a trustworthy shop that actually cares.Service: Engine repair

I had an issue here for an appointment I made, when I arrived the manager I’m used to, Randy, wasn’t there. I was told by the MOD my car would be ready in an hour. About 3 hours later I tried to call but unfortunately the website had incorrect numbers. I decided to walk there and see what was happening. When I got there Randy was there, who has always made me feel welcome and valued. He told me my car had not even been taken back to be serviced yet. I was extremely frustrated and this made the flippant way I was treated during drop off even worse to me. I just left with the intention of not going there anymore which made me super bummed as I’d had great experience there multiple times and it’s in the neighborhood. Well Randy called me and apologized (even though it wasn’t his fault) and offered to take care of my car at no charge the next business day. I will be returning for all my car needs and I’ll make sure he’s there! He is the kind of employee that a business owner should bend over backwards to keep. It’s rare to find customer service that is through and genuine and Randy has both.

I can't attest to their mechanical abilities because I have been waiting a week for them to take the 1st look at my truck! Every day I call I get the same run around "our guy is finishing a big job, we'll get to it 1st thing in the morning, we'll send you txt updates..." That is when I get a response. After a week, it has not been looked at and I have not been given text updates. I have to chase them down in order to hear the broken record or a refreshing change like today, "the computer is down. We will call you back in 10 minutes!"This is getting OLD. They know I'm from out of town and I need my truck for work. I'll keep you updated if things change, but unless you want to wait with no communication, I would not recommend Ben White Automotive.

At first, I had an issue with the incorrect item being repaired on my car and my original issue still being a problem. However, Brent and his team went above and beyond to correct it and I can say that is truly what great customer service is all about. Definitely got a repeat customer out of me. Thanks again, y'all!
