Literally the last straw with this shop. They looked the car over and said they couldn’t find what my wife said. She had the relook at the car, and they said they found a leaking head gasket (which is common in these cars). He tried to get my wife to replace it for $2300 and she said no. She had the battery and a window regulator replaced instead they didn’t do anything until my wife called and checked on the car. When we showed up it was a grand in labor for the two parts. We’ve used this shop multiple times, and every time my wife deals with them, they up-charge everything. $652 in labor just for a window regulator!!Definitely feel like we got taken advantage of when we decided to not have them fix something they wanted to charge for.

I had terrible experience with them!! I wish I could give them ZERO star!!!!!First, my car’s check engine light was on. So I called them and made an appointment. I dropped my car off at 8 am(that’s the earliest time) on the day that I had an appointment. They said they will call me in the afternoon but they never called me back! I needed my car next day so I called them around 4pm and they didn’t even check my car yet!!!!!! I told him I need to get my car back NOW. And he said I’ll call you back. ……Never!!!They never called me back! So I called them again. And they said they are working on it and call me back. Of course nobody called me back. It was 5 pm. So I decided to go get my car back. That’s already terrible. But not done yet.Second, the website says “free estimate”. It’s not true. They cost me over $300 with nothing fixed!!!!!! (Jiffy rube did same thing for FREE!!) Also he said will sand me the results and more information. NEVER!!!!! I called them so many times. And still not getting any email, estimate or information. I can’t believe it. I wasted my time and money. It’s just terrible!!! I need my money back!!

I've been here a few times to get work done for my 2009 Mercedes. Josh and the team have been great to work with. Very transparent, and will go the extra mile (no pun intended) on getting things properly done. I had the engine light come on again after my 1st visit, and they got that squared away and stood true to their work.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My awful experience cost $1400.00 paid to Ben's Workshop; plus $2500.00 paid to the BMW dealership that redid Ben's faulty work and repaired new, resulting damage.I went initially to Ben's for an oil change and a tire leak, which a Shell mechanic said was due to a damaged wheel. Shell didn't do wheel repairs. Ben's couldn't find any wheel damage and recommended a new tire.I got the oil change, which left an oil pond on my garage floor. I returned to Ben's, which had installed a cracked oil plug. They replaced it.I purchased a new tire from a 3d party. Air still leaked. Ben's then discovered the wheel damage I'd told them about previously.Later, I detected a burning gas smell. Foolishly, I disregarded Ben's prior carelessness. It was annoying, but minor. Back at Ben's, they replaced my "valve cover gasket," for $1100.00.Driving home, my windshield wipers didn't work. The next day, Ben's explained that the valve cover repair can disturb the wiper mechanism. They forgot to check. They repaired the wipers.Nine days later, the smell returned. Ben's discovered a leak in the valve cover they had just worked on. With some warranty coverage, this visit cost $314.07. Total cost of valve cover work - $1400.00.Of 6 visits to Ben's, 4 were re-visits to get things right.Nine days later, driving on Presidents' Day weekend, the car began to shake and warnings flashed. Ben's was closed, and I wasn't keen on taking a new issue there. The frightening symptoms were brand new. I called a BMW dealership that said I could bring the car in immediately.I learned that Ben's work on the valve cover had, again, failed. BMW explained that this led to hot oil dripping onto the coils and plugs, which now failed as well. It redid Ben's work and addressed the new issue. I paid BMW approximately $2500, in addition to the $1400 I'd paid Ben's.I sent Ben's an email and later a certified letter. No one replied. I complained to the Better Business Bureau, and offered to participate in their mediation program. This provides a forum through which parties exchange written messages. With a third party watching, Ben's now acknowledged me.Years ago, with another car, Ben's owner, Bill Morey, gave me a ride home. He was friendly. I recognized that was business to him. That's OK. Business should be friendly. But now, that friendly guy didn't appear. He did concede that my "time line and history with our shop is fundamentally correct." He could "understand the customers aggravation." He couldn't apologize, nor acknowledge that his shop had, on multiple occasions, screwed up.This is Ben's entire warranty: "Warranty on repairs is 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever occurs first." This supposedly requires that I give Ben's not just two valve cover repair attempts, but more. How many? Who knows. Ben's earliest mishaps no longer seemed small. They foreshadowed a lack of quality control. (I mean, they screwed up an oil change.) Mr. Morey insists, with no support in the warranty language, that it covers not just multiple repair attempts, but new damage caused by his shop. He describes a warranty that's not a repair provision, but a waiver of malpractice claims.Mr. Morey can't see the forest for the trees and it's sad. Ben's drove a customer nuts, left her on the road with a shaking, flashing vehicle, in clear distress, and stands firm on a legalistic and overly broad interpretation of a warranty that says virtually nothing.Mr. Morey offered me $200.00 in future credit. I offered to consider "any all-cash proposal that bears a proper relationship to the money and time I've lost and to Ben's role in these difficult circumstances." Mr. Morey never budged. There are BMW repair options in Austin. Some may believe I should have returned to Ben's. But everyone who treasures their car, their time, and their peace of mind should pay attention to th

THE place to take your classic (or newer) German car for all kind of repairs. They go above and beyond in customer service, with good and honest communication. Highly recommended.

Professional, thoroughly knowledgeable. Resolved the mechanical issues in a very reasonable amount of time. Final cost outcome was below their original estimate.

These guys are the best! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my 1986 560SL. Josh is so friendly and the rest of the crew is so honest. I could not ask for a better team and have to mention that they always go above and beyond to make the customer satisfied. If you have an old Benz (or a new one) I thoroughly recommend Ben's Workshop.

Thank you for all your good work. I'll be coming back for more. Josh worked with my warranty company to get my busted sunroof working again. It would have been $4k+, but thankfully I only paid $375. Repairs took a week to complete. They put a few very nice smelling car scent squares under the seats. I'm not a fan of the Mercedes "fresh rain shower" scent. I prefer the smell of leather or a nice cologne. Anyway, it's nice to have my C43 back with a functioning sunroof.

Bought a 2008 E320 CDI and took to the shop to investigate a major oil leak. They were prompt and communicative. The oil leak was fixed and they recommended changing out a couple of turbo lines that had been saturated from the leak. $1500 dollars for the two lines and a new oil cap. Brought the car back as the Check Engine light was coming on. I was quoted $4,500 to replace the turbo. I questioned this diagnostics and the specified that it was probably actually the turbo actuator. I asked why not just replace that and they said the turbo and actuator came together as one unit. I declined the work and took the car home. After about 3 minutes on the internet, I found the actuator by itself for $157. I then read about them and learned that there is a wire that commonly comes lose. I opened the actuator, found the wire that was indeed lose, and I soldered it back. This took me about 2 hours total and cost me nothing. I don't know why I was able to figure this out with 5 minutes of looking on line, but the shop wanted to charge me $4,500 for a new turbo system. Either they demonstrated a level of incompetence, or wanted to make way too much money on a job that should have been easy to diagnose and only about $300 to $500 for them to do the work. Overall, I'm disappointed. I liked the staff and they communicated well, but now I'm questioning if I overpaid on the oil leak fix too. Hard to find shops that can be trusted these days.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had to have my transmission replaced on my Mercedes E350. It was a very expensive repair at $8,000.00. I was referred to Ben’s Workshop and from the moment I walked in I had a good feeling about the facility. Eddie greeted me and he was absolutely phenomenal throughout the entire experience. They know their stuff at Ben’s Workshop. Thank you so much Eddie and the entire team at Ben’s for keeping me on the road.
