I love Callahan's. Owned by a wonderful family with longstanding roots in the Bastrop, Rockne, and Austin area. One of the family members works with the chicks and was fluent in both English and Spanish. He was very knowledgeable about the different breeds. Last time that I went, they had greatly improved the living conditions of the chicks.

They are very professional and personable. There are lots of things for working with livestock, pets, and gardening. I always look forward to shopping there.

I've been going to Callahans for years and I definitely recommend it for anyone. You don't have to be a farmer or only livestock. They have really cool retro style stoves, and fridge options, kitchen gadgets, housewares, clothing, and toys, and a nice hardware section. There is dog food, and other feed as well as garden supplies. If you are looking for baby chickens, this is a great place to pick them up.

The most trusted name in farming and livestock needs, as well as for house pets, yard and home, and then some.Always the most excellent all around experience, especially their customer service, who are always helpful and knowledgeable. Their store is always clean and well organized, enjoyable shop at out of necessity, and to browse for fun.Especially as an animal lover, their attention and care especially of the animals they sell is exceptional...despite the ridiculous silliness of those (the less than 6%) who would fabricate falsehoods, because of what they do and don't eat.Especially as I refuse to finance with my money those who are all owned by the same stockholders, who profited while privately and family owned businesses were being shut down, I will always drive the extra miles for my needs, as I have been doing for decades.

How can you people support this place? The way they treat their animals is disgusting! They also sell you sick animals because they don’t even care for them. Please don’t waste your time or better yet, money, here. I can’t wait till this place gets fully exposed for what it really is.

Super cool place! Fair warning: you might go in to grab one thing and come out with a basket of everything you didn’t know you needed.

Fun variety store with a little bit of everything. Nice Tshirts, but thought western shirts were a bit pricy. Loved looking at the ducklings.

I have been coming here since I was a kid with my dad. I love this store and no you don't have to have a farm to find something you will love!

I love this store! They have everything from farm animal stuff to kitchen decor. Horses, goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, and dog stuff. I'm sure I'm missing some animals but they really carry it all. Plumbing items, tools, bolts, nuts, clothing, boots, hats, yard decor, kitchen decor, candles, honey and even plants! Stop by to pet the animals and just look around.

Jessica was so helpful today, getting me in and out the door promptly with baby chicks for our brooding hen. She checked each one I chose and gave me fair warning that the last was a little iffy. I decided to give that one a chance, and Jessica understood that was what I needed to do. I’ve cleaned it up and so far, so good. Mamma hen is happy and we are happy. We sure appreciate Callahan’s!

Question? I bought 2 ducklings on feb 20th and they both sick already. 1 more than the other but noticing the other getting sicker. No contact with any other animals and we got the feed and hay from the store. What is the policy on returns or exchanges with sick ducklings?

This is a really cool country store. The staff knows their stuff and the prices are great. Fun to stop in or to stick your farm. Boots to animals. Pigs, chickens, rabbits and goats.

Great place to get hardware supplies. They actually have people in departments that know what their selling and where to find it. Also capable of answering any questions you have. I'm not a farmer or keep animals of any kind but they would have anything one might need for any critter one might have.
