I have been a member of Capitol Credit Union since 1997, and they have ALWAYS assisted me immediately whether I've called or gone in to the credit union. Not once has anyone been rude to me; they've been nothing but helpful. It's easy to contact them, and once the contact is made they are patient, courteous, and solve whatever problem I come up with. I have nothing but good feelings about their employees, and I highly recommend them and this credit union.

My experience in getting an auto loan was exceptional - at least the Capital Credit Union part - the Tesla side, well, . . . Shout out to loan officer Nathan for going above and beyond, David Craig for ensuring all went according to plan, and Lavaca manager Nidya for her skilled input. Loan officer Marco pinch-hit and made sure I had what I needed prior to picking up my new car. Local credit unions are the way to go. Small town kindness, big city knowledge. Ya’ll are the best.

I have banked with Capitol Credit Union for over 20 years, the staff here is always so helpful, and I LOVE the self-service banking in-branch.

I have banked with Capitol Credit Union (CCU) for over 8 years and my experience has been nothing short of EXCELLENT. Don't get me wrong, no financial institution is perfect but CCU is one place that's committed to continuously improving their service and internal culture. It's rare to find an organization that cares for it's employees and Members at the level they do. To top it off, they have the best checking accounts in town, and VERY competitive loan rates! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

Sandra Reynoso is amazing at her job! She has time and time again exceeded in her customer service! The attention to detail and profound knowledge she’s obtained has really made a difference in my experience as I’d imagine it has for her company. 10/10 would recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would not recommend ever getting an auto loan with them. I refinanced my car loan to get a lower APR and lower payments per month with them. It has been an awful experience they don't care about any life experiences you have been through covid does not matter either. They will not help you defer a payment whatsoever. And it's an awful experience trying to set up my bank in order to make a payment. Just to tell you it takes a few days to do, so you can't make the payment on the day of or just before. Overall don't recommend them when you can get better elsewhere.

Worst experience ever having my auto loan with this company. Sandra Reynoso is about the absolute worst unknowledgeable and unprofessional worker in the loan department. My auto loan was removed off my credit report and it’s been a nightmare trying to add it back. I’ve gone back and forth with CCU about this for half a year now and the only person that works with the reporting to the creditors is Sandra. Isn’t that Insane that out of the entire company only one lady works the entire reporting process and somehow can’t get the issue fixed. Each month I’ve called to get this resolved and I’ve been told by Sandra that she’s attempted already to add it back and there’s nothing else she can do if it does not show up, that no one else would know what to do either because she’s been doing this supposedly for 8 years now. What the heck kind of response is that to a consumer of your company??? The credit bureau has already mentioned the reporting company needs to reinsert this loan back to my report. Every call we’ve had she’s states it’ll be applied back the following month and here we are 6 months later and still no update. It’s a back and forth game with this lady and CCU. Sandra and I spoke on the phone previously again a few days ago about the issue and she came on the line raising her voice at me very rudely as if she was the one frustrated more about the issue than I was. I don’t believe she’s done everything she can. I’ve definitely had it with this company and was finally able to take my loan elsewhere and refinanced with a better company. So if you want your loans reporting accurately do yourself a favor and check other options before dealing with this horrible institution.

The worst customer service in the world. Bad online banking. Just overall not customer friendly, use another credit union if you can

My late father was a long time member of Capitol Credit Union. He passed away and I became the executor of his estate. Since I had to set up an Estate Account, I chose to do it with Capito Credit Union, because that would be what he would want me to do. I wish I had taken my right hand and grabbed the seat of my pants and headed out the door. The first thing they did, was give me temporary checks with no account number on them. It then took me 3 weeks plus, to get checks. There were several other hicups along the way, but then they settled down. On 7/20/2020, I went to the Ben White locations to get a cashier's check to settle part of the estate. I sat there for 20 minutes while they tried to fix the printer, I finally left and went to the Lavaca location where I was able to get a cashier's check. On 7/20/2020, I closed on some of my father's property. The title company was given a void check on the estate account at Capitol Credit Union. The title company wired the funds to Capitol Credit Union and the funds were rejected with the notation, name not associated with account. So, on 7/21/2020, I contacted the credit union and told them what had happened. the lady on the phone wasn't sure, but assured me, all the information on my voided check was correct. Since there is my name and the estate name on the check, she suggested I try using the estate name, since the previous day, the title company had used my name. Well, well, the title company once again wired the funds to Capitol Credit Union and the funds, was again rejected. I am pulling funds out Capitol Credit Union and going somewhere, where they have a little bit of an inkling as to what they are doing.

Got a nice APR. However, their website for managing loans is absolutely terrible. Had to call them to get my account number. Then had to do the labor of making an account, which had to be approved. Now, I think I am setting up auto transfer but that also has to be approved. Rather use a big bank next time.

Capitol Credit Union is the worst bank I’ve ever used. I really wanted to love them but my experience has been awful from the beginning. They offer a 2% “cash back” checking account but the cap for cash back is $6 per month, meaning they only offer cash back on up to $300 per month. This is for everyone, no matter if you spend $500 or $5000 per month. Contacting customer service through the app or online is easy but they only sometimes respond and then take days to correct mistakes. My account is currently in the negative going on 11 days due to unauthorized charges and I’ve had to divert my funds to an external account so their not tied up in the negative balance that should have been cleared 10 days ago.I do all my banking on my phone using apps and was told when I opened the account that their app was great, I’ve never not liked a bank’s app so had no idea what I was in for. Their online banking and app is the worst I’ve ever seen, it is literally circa 2009. It is very slow, very involved and basically useless as it takes 60 seconds to load if I want to look at the details of a transaction and then another 60 seconds to return to the list of transactions and so on, it completely defeats the purpose of online banking.Making transfers through the app or online is a guessing game as I’ve made in house transfers as well as external transfers, was provided a confirmation number only to find out later that the transfer never processed and no record of it exists aside from the confirmation number provided I wrote it down. I find myself taking screenshots of everything I do because if I don’t, I’m afraid I’ll have to use it as proof down the road when my account is overdrawn and fees assessed because a transfer I made didn’t actually occur. One reason I joined a credit union was because I was in the market to buy a vehicle and wanted a loan with a local institution with what I thought would be better rates. I applied for the loan and was told if I submitted the online application by 2pm it would be processed the same day. Instead it took 3 days to receive confirmation of approval. I called every day for the status, leaving messages and playing phone tag as I had a vehicle waiting. It wasn’t until 3 days later that I received the approval despite their claim that the application had been processed same day, they blamed me for not being able to reach me by phone despite me returning their calls and leaving messages each time, even sending messages online that went unanswered. Unbeknownst to them, I have an account with Lifelock and receive alerts the second anything happens with my credit file and CCU did not pull my credit until that 3rd day when I finally got someone on the phone. At that point I gave Raul in loans the info on the vehicle and was told that the bank couldn’t loan me the money because the vehicle’s value was less than the asking price. I cancelled the loan and went through my other bank instead, getting a lower interest rate and buying the vehicle the next day.I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your banking needs, I really like Ally bank and Capital One has a great checking and savings too.

Great Credit Union to join! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It is newly remodeled with some advance technology in doing your banking. It is in walking distance from the State Capitol and UT Austin with easy access to their ATM.

I have been a customer of the Capitol Credit Union since 1998. My main complaint is with the Bill Pay service. There is no reason for it to take 6 days for a payment to process. I suspect they are simply profiting from the "float" associated with this delay. In today's environment, an electronic funds transfer should take place on the same day as the request. While management may not be up to date with current technology, I would recommend they shorted the payment delay window. Otherwise, they will lose business to more modern, responsive, and convenient platforms.
