Took our dog in after being attacked by a larger dog. From the front desk to triage to the vet care, we had quality, thoughtful care for our baby.

It’s been 1 year since Elio was rushed to CT Vet South Austin and this was the only way I knew how to thank the team of staff and doctors who saved his life. I don’t like thinking about that visit because it was heartbreaking but he was in the best hands possible. I’m grateful for this team and that our crazy boy is still with us and is his best self. We joke that his energy is that of 3 cats due to his blood transfusions. Thanks for all you do!

Absolutely the worst experience. Was seen by a triage nurse. Was informed that since my dog’s swelling under her eye (infected tooth) was not an emergency the wait was 2 to 3 hours. They referred me to alternative places (nothing nearby).

Phenomenal. This veterinary practice is so deeply caring. Let alone super efficient. Attracts smart staff. I work with non-profit animal rescues and spay / neuter clinics. Nicole at the South Branch, was able to gather excess supplies (crates, collars, more), clean them, and donate all of them. Camron at Round Rock was also amazing. What she donated, recycled is priceless. The generosity, kindness, communication, and efficiency is absolutely outstanding.

My poor cat had to be seen by the emergency service this past Sunday. He waited to be seen about 2.5 hours since he was stable, which was in alignment with the time we were quoted. All of the veterinarians and staff we interacted with were kind, efficient, and professional. After getting x rays and a treatment plan, he was on his way. I am happy to say he is recovering well. Thank you for being there for us during a stressful time!

I have waited too long to share about my own experience back in July of 2023, but I think it's time people know about my experience. That summer was the worst summer of my life. I took in my dog because he had a horrible infection from an injury and it needed draining, according to his vet. From the beginning CTVSE asked me to pay upfront a large sum of money. They told me I have to pay the max estimate for him to get treatment. I was hoping once he was discharged, that I would be reimbursed something back, so I hoped that the doctors would not have to go over because the amount was already so high. He stayed a few days more until it was fine for him to be back. During his time, I was told he needed more, but I pleaded for him to come back sooner to avoid more fees (I am a teacher, so I just can't afford more). And of course, not only did they use the entirety of what I had to put down, but they asked for even MORE to get him discharged. If they anticipated more, I wish they could have told me in the first place! I ended up paying more than I ever hoped I would for my sweet dog. There are no payment plans, the only thing they have is for you to apply for CareCredit, which I was not going to do. Everything must come out of pocket. I won't say the prices because they're just astronomical. The problem is that they ask you to pay a lot even when you at your lowest emotional state, i.e. me, who was anxious, crying, and sad, desperate. It's a very scammy move in my opinion, making people pay upfront, no pay plans or nothing, while they're sad and upset. I didn't think about what I was actually paying for until weeks later and I looked at my statements.Guys, I really hope your animal friends are healthy enough to never come here. While my main vet who attended my dog, Dr. Floyd, is a beautiful person and I adore her very much, the costs here are so insanely high. Also in the time I was there, the vet techs I found to be quite rude and cross (such as Jeannie/Jenn I believe was her name). But yes, scary place, and scary fees.I'm sort of conflicted. I don''t regret allowing my beautiful dog to live on longer, but the fact that it costs an arm and a leg to allow that to happen is the most heartbreaking thing ever. They tell you it costs a lot, and before you know it, they raise it up higher because they know you will pay. It's a bit emotionally manipulative, because they know your furry friend's life is at stake here. Now, I have a debt in my CC that will take forever for me to pay off. They ultimately cash out on your emotions. After all, it is a business.I hope to never come back here again. I'm thankful my dog is here and healthy now, but I never want this place to take my dog, or my money, ever again.

12/17/23 Update -- Finally "leadership" communicates, they tell me there's "noway it could be our fault, no way it could have been a loose screw" - "Go Away!" No, I'm not going away - you owe me $1400. 12/12/23 - How about reimbursing me for the $1400 that I had to pay another surgeon to fix the problem created by a surgeon that worked for your company? How about doing the right thing and accepting some responsibility?I'd give ZERO stars if I could: My dog had two TPLO surgeries here. One knee developed a recurrent infection which was treated with antibiotics until it became apparent that an additional surgery would be needed to remove the plates and eliminate the infection. CTVSEH then quoted me nearly $4300 for the new surgery and refused additional antibiotics - forcing my hand on the surgery. I asked them why so much, they eventually came down to $3800. It was then that I was referred to another surgeon at VSS. He agreed to do the surgery for $1400. He did that surgery on 12/6 and discovered a LOOSE SCREW! He went on to say the loose screw was the problem the entire time. I sent the medical records, statements and invoice to CTVSEH for reimbursement for at least the $1400, explaining the situation, it was their fault... and they ignored my request. Finally "leadership" communicated, they tell me there's "noway it could be our fault, no way it could have been a loose screw" - "Go Away!" No, I'm not going away - you owe me $1400. How about reimbursing me for the $1400 that I had to pay another surgeon to fix the problem created by a surgeon that worked for your company? How about doing the right thing and accepting some responsibility?. This is no way to run a business and I would encourage you to go elsewhere. Additional notes, the original surgeon at CTVSEH moved to another state after the surgeries, I've never gotten the impression that CTVSEH wanted to honor his poor work. Maybe that's why they're hiding and refusing to acknowledge their fault and make this situation right. Again, poor business leadership....dishonest, go elsewhere for your surgical needs.

If I could give them zero stars I would. 1 star is waaay too generous. As a former client, I can say they killed my cat. I called them during an emergency to help me administer CPR just like you would call 911 for a human. Instead, the woman on the phone lacked any ounce of sympathy and refused to provide me with any assistance while speaking in a monotone telling me she couldn't give me "any medical advice due to liability." I am more traumatized by the interaction on the phone than watching my beloved of 16 and a half years struggle to breathe. Do not give this place a dime. Seek help elsewhere.

My 4-legged baby had to have stitches on a Friday night. NO, wait time. Tec. Drew explained everything they were doing. They did get very busy as the time went on. But they did a great job. Thank you, Dr. B for taking such good care of my baby.

I give this nefarious place zero stars. It has taken me some time to prepare myself psychologically to write this review that, at the same time, you could view as a WARNING. I had to wait until I healed a little and was able to put the trauma I went through at this place in the back of my mind in order for me to be able to write it.I brought my beloved doggie to this clinic for him to be helped, thinking this was a good place, but when I arrived, I immediately perceived that I may have chosen a bad place to bring him. I really doubt the legitimacy of the 4.1 stars rating of this place. Not even five minutes after arriving they are already misdiagnosing him with all kinds of diseases and viruses without even performing any tests and asking me for a totally different and extremely high amount of money to the one they told me over the phone that night, before bringing my dog there. Then, if you don't produce your credit card fast enough, the veterinarian will come and tell you that there is zero chance that your beloved family member will surviveand that he/she needs to be put down. In other words, if you don't have the money we asked for, when we ask for it, you don't deserve to have a pet, and it should be killed.Furthermore, I brought my beloved dog there alive and they took him to the back of that clinic and he was brought back to me almost dead and he died in my arms, even after I had informed them that I had decided no to put him down and that I wanted to give him a chance at life and was going to bring him to a different place. After I said that, the veterinarian's assistant panicked and was attempting to yank my dog off of my hands telling me that he seemed not to be doing well, without even looking at him, as if she knew that something bad was done to him and wanted to try to fix it or cover it up. As I came to find out, at the end, when the veterinarian came to "check on him," 10 minutes later after the tech had said he didn't seem okay. He wasn't moving at all. After I could hear him yelling in the back. I don't know what they were doing to him. Moreover, they brought him back to me unresponsive, almost dead. It is as if it was done on purpose to wait 10 minutes to come and check on him, instead of coming to check on him right away and save him. As if they purposefully waited for him to die and then came to pretend they were checking on him.It was very evident that the veterinarian only came to confirm he was dead, and she told me she had given him propofol. Clearly, she gave him a lethal dose of propofol. I brought him alive, and he was returned to me almost dead and died in my arms a few minutes later. He was not even allowed the dignity to be with me during his last moments of consciousness, so that he could know I was with him at that moment, before they proceeded to inject him with a lethal dose of that powerful drug, even though they were informed that I wanted to be with him and I also told them that I have changed my mind and did not want him to be euthanized. The people at this place seem to really be in the business of euthanizing pets as much as possible. What is more, there appear to be questionable practices and things going on at this clinic that seem to warrant an investigation by independent bodies; the AG, and any other relevant agencies. Hopefully, somebody steps up and is able to make this happen in the near future. In conclusion, all I can say is this; if it were me and I really cared about the safety and the life of my family member (pet) and wanted to give him/her a real chance at life and see him or her alive again, I would absolutely bring my loved one to any other clinic in the world but this one. I have a suspicion that if I start reading all the reviews about this clinic, I am going to find tons of horror stories similar to mine, with the same MO.To the personnel of this clinic, I say this; do not bother writing to me anything as I am not planning on reading it. I know it is going to be insincere like "we are sorry," etc...I hope this r

Dr. Nicole Antallfy and the team at the clinic took great care of our cat Mittens, when we brought him in Monday evening. They quickly assessed the situation and started treatment within an hour of us arriving. We received daily updates per phone, and could come in to see him on our own schedule. Everyone was so nice and helpful and made this whole process as pleasant as it could be all things considered. Today we picked Mittens up, and we received very detailed instructions and helpful tips for his care. So far he gobbled up the new cat food, went to the litter box twice, and just took his pill like a champ. Thank you all for everything you did to help our little guy get better. We appreciate you so much! Happy Thanksgiving!

Dr. Krista Adamovich was the best care provider we could have ever asked for. We were so fortunate to have someone with her skill level attend to the care of our dog. I believe all of the staff and technicians provide the best care for all animals that they see. And they make us parents feel okay too! So grateful for Central Texas Veterinary specialty and emergency hospital in Austin.

Stay away from this hospital. They will demand $1000 deposit and will charge outrageous prices.I understand it costs a lot to run a 24 hr hospital. It's their practices that are highly questionable. Our vet also said that all rabbits died. OMG, all animals and humans die but that is the last thing we want to hear from our vet.Not a business that operates with integrity.

Took our pet here and they didn't understand his species. But they didn't tell us that until later when we called back. They said our pet was fine, but he was in distress with G.I. stasis and had not eaten nor pooped for over a 12 hr period. They do not let the parent inside the exam room along with the pet.We don't know what was done. After a $300+ charge our pet was no better off, not did we know any better on what to do.Do not recommend this hospital if you have an alternative.

I’m so thankful to the staff at CTVSEH for taking care not only of my pet, Brigitte, but of me too last Halloween. I had called and they told me to come in immediately. Within thirty minutes, we had a diagnosis and made sure Brigitte had a peaceful passing in their private room where I could spend time with her before her last moments. Brigitte passed at 15 years old from heart failure but thankfully was not in pain because they were swift in their care. I will never forget my experience with them and I am so beyond grateful that they were available to tend to Brigitte. Should I adopt a pet again, I would not hesitate to bring them to this facility again for urgent care. I am floored by their compassion, professionalism, and their kindness to me. They not only sent me a card offering their condolences but I also received a paw print of my best friend that I can cherish forever. Thank you again to the staff and Dr. Gabrielle O'Garro, I am so grateful for you all. ❤️
