Their chips and the sauce that came with it (not the salsa) were so good. I ate too much of it and was kinda full by the time our food came. The mix platter and steak fajitas we got were just ok to me.

Margarita's are tasty, however, I found the food overly salted. Even the rice tasted salty.

We eat here at least once a week, sometimes two. Yes, we like it that much! It's always consistently delicious & we have tried just about everything on the menu and love it all. We just keep hoping they will bring back their charro beans. Their chips are thin and usually warm and always fresh and good. The dips are spicy, tasty and freshly made, as are the tortilla shells. You can see them being made as you walk in to be seated. They are so much better than the stale ones from a package. The fajitas, etc. are always made fresh and not from a batch made hours before. The jalapeno ranch dip is awesome and the salsa is made is fresh and tasty. Their service is always good and much better than many other places that are still short on staff. If you have tried it, then you know and you go back, but if you haven't, then l encourage you to go. It will a great experience with great food.

Have they given up?Our first impression during this visit was standing in line, shoulder to shoulder, in a cramped and warm entrance area with all sorts of dated and dusted trinkets on the wall. After being passed over for 5 minutes we were acknowledged by the hostess and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We thought we’d use this opportunity to get some fresh air and walk down the street to Zilker nearby. About 7 minutes later we received a text our table was ready and headed back. After squeezing our way back to the hostess stand we were told our names were taken off the list and we had to rejoin. While waiting, this time inside after learning our lesson, we try our hand at their charity wheel of fortune. There was a plastic peg missing from the wheel and we were told it CANNOT be fixed. Shortly after we were seated.Service was slow, drinks were mediocre, and every one of our entrees had issues with mine having to be sent back. Our chips were a basket of crumbs, the queso was watery, and the drinks mostly ice. We were treated to a nice surprise when a hasty employee yanked the back door open so forcefully that it shook the wall and our table. Our food was bland, dry, charred and overall very disappointing. Is this the demise of the franchise? Chuys is on its last leg.

I just wanted a classic Mexican dish (enchiladas) and this was a great quintessential spot with character, friendly service, and a good value. I’ll be back!
