We drove from Houston to Austin speciifically to go the DE store on Parmer and were not disappointed. Diana helped us buy a very nice laptop and was a joy to deal with. The transaction was a bit complicated due to our having a store credit but she handled it quickly and professionally. The store is very clean, uncluttered, and laid out very nicely. Discount Electronics is highly recommended.

If the Anderson store was still open, I know I could get tech assistance their. The new store is just flash and trash. There are no technically knowledgeable people onsite and the product selection is expensive Domain style items. It may look nice, but avoid the new store.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. I'm a 50 year old woman with not a lot of computer savvy. I got treated very respectfully by these knowledgeable young men. I was greeted the moment I walked in the door; was never talked down to. They explained the products; displayed expert knowledge; as well as answered my questions. I left with a great refurbished computer at a shockingly great price. And I experienced such great customer service. And their products are excellent; this is the third computer we bought from them in as many years. They all still perform very well.

What a complete fraud these guys are. They try to tell you that have late model computers that have been completely refurbished, tested etc and that are as good as new. LIE!! They are just basic junk. You would do better buying from a pawn shop. What is worse is that their prices are higher than what you can buy on line from various sources. I bought what I thought was an upgraded computer with some extra stuff including RAM and video card etc. Got it home only to discover it had NONE of the upgrades. I was back at the store within 30 minutes of my purchase and they said "oh sorry, must have let that one slip by during "test". What?? I said, "oh, well how about getting me another one"? Oh no they said, leave it here and we will work on it and get it fixed, should take about 2 days. I said no way and told me that once you walk out the store with what you buy you cant return it. They finally offered me "store credit" but did not have another machine even close to what they told me I was buying. So, they have my $900 and my computer, which they say they are working on. It has been 10 days and they are blaming inventory shortages for the probs. What a scam. They are simply getting people in the store with promises of these pretty good deals only to get you money and give you no computer. I bet they dont have many repeat customers. Ed P.

Our company buys all our computers from them! Absolutely love the friendly customer service they always give us. The wait time can be a little bit of course if other people are in the store too but that is completely normal. We worked with Jozef this time and he was the best! Knew what he was talking about and gave extremely good recommendations. The computer he helped me pick is absolutely perfect and I am now sitting waiting on my computer to unfreeze because I am multitasking too much at work. I really love this company and their great staff!

I recently visited Discount Electronics to purchase a laptop, docking station, and other necessary accoutrements to get my home office up and running. Jozef, the store manager, greeted me right away when I walked in. He asked a lot of questions, truly and clearly dedicated to finding the right items for me instead of trying to sell me on additional items/storage right away. He was knowledgeable and took the time to walk me through details. Not only that, but as I was checking out I overheard another store member helping a different patron. Same story - great service and not rushed selling. Highly recommend this store and this team!

As indicated by its name, Discount Electronics sells merchandise at substantially lower prices than other stores, but that's not the main reason that I gave it a five-star rating. When my old computer died and I took it to Discount Electronics on West Anderson, I was greeted at the front desk by Assistant Manager Brandon Hooper. I explained that I needed a replacement computer, but more importantly, I wanted a way to preserve the files on my old computer's hard drive. Brandon offered me a way to accomplish both of those goals, by offering to sell me a refurbished computer, remove the hard drive from my old computer, and install it in the new one. After I selected a Dell computer from their inventory, Brandon worked for almost an hour performing that installation and testing to make sure that the new computer can read my old hard drive. Then he gave me a monitor cord at no charge, plus 50% off the cost of an external DVD player, and he charged me NOTHING for his labor installing my old computer's hard drive into my new computer. Now I have a newly-refurbished computer with not one but TWO hard drives, preserving all my old files at no additional cost. Although there are other places in Austin to buy electronics at discounted prices, I wouldn't get service like that from a thrift shop. That is the reason for my five-star rating.

My laptop screen got a small crack at the top of the screen and would have still been okay except that it's also a touch screen so it was impossible to use because it kept thinking that someone was touching the screen where it cracked so I couldn't use my mouse at all. I went into Discount Electronics thinking I'd have to replace the whole screen, but a very helpful employee Brandon figured out how to disable the touch screen feature making it usable again and saving me hundreds of dollars for a repair! I've gone to Discount Electronics many times in the past and the employees have always been super helpful. I've had another screen replaced by their service department in the past but the service was great, reasonably priced, and they checked in with me about the different screen options to let me pick before they pulled the trigger on the replacement. The only complaint would be that sometimes their service department is a bit backed up, but I think that's more an indicator that because they do good work they're the go to for a lot of folks. When I was in college and broke I also went there for some refurbished computer parts and accessories and they are a perfect place for that too.

I had an issue that was 3-4 months old. I had not looked at the monitors at all and when I check, two stands were broken. They offered to send two brand new monitors and I said just send the stands, they replied with, the stands may not fit the monitors. Excellent customer service. I will order from the first before anywhere else if they have what I need!

I recently purchased a new battery for my Dell laptop from Discount Electronics. When I got home I discovered that the system no longer booted up and I did not know what to do. I called Discount Electronics and talked to Brandon and told him about my problem. He was easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, patient, and courteous. He directed me on the phone through a process that would normally require me to make a long journey back to the store. However, we solved the problem conveniently on the phone. My hats off to Discount Electronics.

Every time I come all the guys are super friendly! Tim has been a huge help and it's always a nice touch when he remembers my name. I love how comfortable I feel in there even though I know very little about computers.
