My friend and I flew down to Texas for another friend’s wedding. We got a rental car with Dollar and had an easy/great experience. Dylan was incredibly helpful, friendly, and nice; he had strong customer service and explained everything we needed to know for getting our rental car. Had no concerns and would recommend again!

⭐ - I wish I could give zero stars.Absolutely the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Right from the start, Dollar Rental set a new low for customer service. Not only were the employees rude and unhelpful, but they flat-out lied to corporate right in front of me. Talk about audacity!It seemed like their main mission was to make my day as miserable as possible. There was no attempt to rectify any of the issues, and instead, they went out of their way to complicate matters even further.Avoid Dollar Rental at all costs. There are plenty of other rental agencies that value your business and time. This company doesn't deserve a dime of your money.

Contrary to other renters' experience, I had a good one. Yes, the line was a bit long like some of the other company because of people. But, it's also because of customers asking for more information or a better deal. That's just how it is when people get their turn. Anyway, my good experience started with with the gentleman who assisted me. He was knowledgeable and informative. He helped me make the best decision for my needs. I just wish I remember his name. The vehicle ran well. No issues. As for the rental return, it was so easy. I drove the vehicle to the area and got my receipt almost as soon as I parked.

Got luggage and family loaded into vehicle and immediately got oil change needed come across the dashboard. When notifying the first agent she told me that it'll be OK and asked if I'll be driving far... very little concern to her. I then went to talk to someone at the gold star counter at Hertz (their affiliate) and was changed out within a matter of minutes. He also gave an upgrade to the size for the inconvenience. That's how to make something right! Great customer service to this guy!I would rate 4.7 only taking off for the fact that it wasn't ready to go out and the first agent shouldn't have tried to pass it off as no big deal. Cars should be 100% ready for the customer

Very pleased with everything. Friendly service, clean car and no additional options selling. Basic price included digital radio and navigation. Best rental experience I've had and family is happy. I memoriable experience!

What was supposed to be a $150 car rental for 2 days ended up being over $500 in ridiculous charges and services that I never agreed to. Car was also in poor condition and reeked of smoke. Stay as far away from this place as possible.

Had a very decent experience with Dollar Car Rental. There was no wait in line. I even got a better car than what I originally paid for. The car was in good conditions and clean. The only downside was that I had to pay an additional fee of $55 on top of what I had already paid. Other than that I would rent a car with them again.

The young man that waited on me was very rude. His attempt to upsell were to put me... at 55 yo woman in a electric car and threatened if I didn't bring it back full DOLLAR WOULD CHARGE ME upwards of $60. I accepted, when he saw that wouldn't work, he said DOLLAR was out of electric cars and he had to give me a RAM 1500. It's a HUGE truck not made for a grandmother to climb in and out. I had already advised it was my first time in the city. His customer skills were deplorable. He said I had the manager special and if I didn't want that I could pay $15 more and get something different. He should be addressed for trying to extort money from your customers. I tried to drive the truck he assigned. My knee went out as I got into the truck. I went to the hertz desk and a kind gentle men exchanged for a Ford.Terrible experience, would NEVER rent from you again.

I read the reviews and thought “surely it can’t be that bad every time.” Guess what… it is! I booked the mystery car on hopper because it was cheap. There is currently a charge for $647 on my account from Dollar. Just don’t do it. Spend the extra couple dollars on a real rental company. It will be cheaper in the end.

There is literally NO customer service. When you press the number to speak to customer service they say “no one is available to speak to you” and then it disconnects all day long….We were having an issue a brand new rental and we could reach no one at any location.

Horrible experience with Dollar at the Austin Airport. My daughter booked a car via Expedia and the car was prepaid using my Visa. When we got to the Dollar counter the line was super long. The only car rental agency with such a line. There was only one agent working the counter!! When we finally made it to the front about 1 hr later, we were told that the credit card my daughter used is not in her married name like her license. The agent said the card must match the name of the booking. That may be some policy somewhere but the car was prepaid. My daughters license and insurance were in her married name what does it matter who pays for the car. She tried to use her debit card which is in her married name, but they would take that. They would take my card - which is where the car was paid from and they also wouldn't change the reservation into my name. They couldn't cancel the reservation or credit me and basically dismissed us. We were finally able to get a copy of my daughter's marriage license and they finally proceeded to complete the pick up - almost 2 hours later. Dollar was my go-to rental agency, but I'll never use them again. The few dollars saved were not worth the hassle.

My family recently flew in to Austin-Bergstrom Airport in Austin Texas and had reserved a car from Dollar Car Rental.The pictures are the 2 front tires on the vehicle. In my opinion Dollar places more value in profit vs. customer safety when you see the condition of the tires.Before leaving the airport my family checked the vehicle and found there was no spare tire. When they went back to the counter their response was they provide roadside assistance, for a charge.Don’t know if this vehicle is still in Austin or moved to a new location but renter beware.

Absolutely the worst car rental experience. Waited over an hour to get checked in. Thankfully, they had a car for us (unlike many other renters that were stuck there with no car), but if dollar wasn't getting help from hertz personnel, we would probably still be standing there. When we dropped off the car, no staff was there to check us in, and you were just left looking around for help. Try any other car rental company
